    We used to have a 9000 n 9600 turned up to 170 hp. We pull 5/18 John Deere plows. Sure does bring back memories from a long time ago.

    Loved seeing the folks on the fender. I spent many happy hours clinging to the fender of the 8N when I was kid with my Dad running it.

    Love the old Ford's. My dad had a 9600 Ford. My parents and both sets of my grandparents farmed in Archbold and West Unity , OH area. Wonder who's tractor that is?

    Imagine going back in time and telling the farmer who just bought this new and told them that in 2021 tractors basically drive themselves

    Looks like the furrows are pretty shallow. Is this typical of how these farms are plowed with moldboard plows, or was this depth setting for the demo of the the day?

    • @chunkmen
      @chunkmen 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rightsideofthegrass it's just an "American" style plow we usually dont plow more than 6 inches unless we are using a deep ripper.

    • @jackybruckers
      @jackybruckers 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@favorit926vario5 Thanks. But was this sold as an Ford plough ,or are the decals home-made by the farmer ?

    • @dennisturner6777
      @dennisturner6777 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      distributed by Ford, probably Ford had contract with white now a part of agco to build plows then it branded and marketed them as Ford

    • @danielcrowe234
      @danielcrowe234 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Case also outsourced their plows. Case, Ford, white all based on the high quality Oliver plow

    • @davesutherland7599
      @davesutherland7599 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Ford(White/Cockshutt) built plows did not carry the front coulter on the drawbar of the plow which allow for a lot better adjustment and cutting of thefront furrow.Used a 151 4-18s for years.

  • @kyleshores432

    Not to be that guy, but why is he only pulling a 5 bottom? JD 4520 in lesser shape pulls a 6 16's plough every year next door to me, and that is lower rated hp wise as well....

    • @davesutherland7599
      @davesutherland7599 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 9000 could very well do the same with 18s and more than likely on a lot less fuel.

  • @greggergen9104
    @greggergen9104 ปีที่แล้ว

    Compared to John Deere 4320 from same time period. Cheaper, bigger, and better fuel efficiency.

      mowers are Jacobson/gilsen and skidsteers transferred to LS when Ford left it but CNH made it watered down and boomer run shibuara engines and contracts in Pakistan for tractors Ford definitely was better .
