You should add brown first at the bottom and greens next. Like a sandwich add brown and green and till the end of the bucket with brown at the end. Brown are dried leaves, cardboard paper, cocopeat, hay etc. Greens are your kitchen waste like carrot peel, all vegetables peels, coffee ground, tea grounds (but no milk or sugar in that}

Add drainage holes at the bottom and even sides of the bucket. add only uncooked kitchen waste but should not be watery. It should be dry greens waste

What's name of seeding you use..I used amazon Green wood decomposer it's like a paste..but no reaction at all even after a month..trying composting 1st time.any more tips..would be helpful

@@devarajan1952 I Dont use any decomposer. First time composting takes 2 to 2.5 months. Next time, make use of finished compost itself and sprinkle in between u add vegetables waste scraps. If u r adding banana peels, or banana flower peels, cut it into small pieces which makes the compost to finish quickly. Basically the compost should not be smelly. Also after 20 days or so, turn over the compost for aeration. First time if u r composting, sprinkle sour milk over the compost to speed up the composting process. First time composting will take time. Second time onwards u can use the finished compost to speed up the process. Don't spend money decomposing agents..

Also if u feel ur compost is too dry, u can sprinkle water over the compost. But should not be too wet, it should be moist.
