Naugles!! Holy buckets! What a throwback. I haven't thought of them in forever! One summer, maybe 1990, I was in The Sound of Music in Anaheim. Naugles was right next door to where we rehearsed. My goodness! I'm flooded with memories right now❤

Just discovered your channel and absolutely love your meal prepping. if you love lighter salads and something that's got a bit of a kick to it especially with beautifully grilled meats, try either red or green cabbage (can do both mixed together) shredded as you would for a slaw and use a simple olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper (lots of pepper) dressing. I usually shred the cabbage as I'm making the meal, and dress just before serving to preserve that crunchiness the cabbage provides. It's health and so delicious. You can also use lemons instead of vinegar, or can do both. It goes well with anything that is grilled, alongside beans, and stews. Really gives it a nice kick to the flavors. Best wishes :)

Shelby, I would love to see what you have done for your kids regarding foods you can do ahead (for use in school lunches etc.). You are a fabulous cook and I have already put to use many of your recipes (scalloped potatoes, refried beans, and more). My kids are teenagers so you understand the challenge.
Shara-lyn our boys are in college and honestly they mainly take leftovers from previous dinners. I use those meal prep containers and after dinner I portion a single serving out. It makes it easy for them just to grab the container when heading out to school. I also try and keep things like chicken salad, pimento cheese, or tuna salad made for easy sandwich making. When our boys were teenagers, I always kept homemade freezer pizza's stocked too. Great for after school snacking or Friday night dinner. Looks yummy! I make my meatball subs the same way with the garlic butter, only difference is I sautee onions, mushrooms and bell peppers and put those on as well.

I am going to make the hawaiian sliders. I have watched your video on them before but will refresh my memory. We just had a massive canning session of tomato juice. 93 quarts and I ran them all thru the pressure canner. Whew!! Want to make something new for my bunch and ham sliders sound good!!!
Susan that is awesome, 93 quarts!!!! Whooo hooo!! A few years back I canned a years worth of tomato products, it is a lot of work but so worth it. The flavor is superior in glass jars, compared to tinned tomatoes. Last year we had our lot hog bushed, this year we are preparing the beds, and next year I am a planting fool. hahahahah I can't wait to get back in gardening and canning. You'll love the sliders, I often make them at breakfast too if we have a big crowd and serve them with an egg casserole. Hugs Shelby

Btw your shopping trips I loved watching cause those hauls are huge $3000 I was floored but then realize it’s like for the year as far as for meats and things,but none the less love watching them....any family still here in California? There was a Naugles in Perris, Ca. Where I grew up. It was definitely the place to hang out. It was an A frame shape building and I think it still is there but not a Naugles:)
That french apple pie look good but my grandmother made a top layer of crust icing I guess you'd call it. It had raisins also and thats what her french apple pie was. YES woo hoo. What a great crowd we had, cheering them on. Chipper still looks young and handsome. Ken has such fond memories of Trevor's dad, he sang the National Anthem at all their baseball games. I am going to show a breakfast plan soon, I have gotten may requests for it. This is our 4th house to have solar, and as you know it is an expensive investment but it pays for itself in just a few years. I'll do an update video with Ken on the solar project too. He Blesses us in every way! Shelby

I have a pretty weird quiestion... I have a family of four and our children are young how do you cook a fresh meal each day with not having a ton of left overs????
That is a great question, I always package the leftovers in those meal prep containers and then we have them for lunches or the boys will eat them if they get hungry. They are very athletic and burn a lot of calories. When they are in school, they take the leftovers for lunch. It helps a bunch on the budget too, because it is so easy to eat out for lunch and not think much about it. But at the end of the month it adds up. Hope that helps. Hugs Shelby
My husband and I love leftovers. My motto is cook once a day. I sometimes turn leftovers to something else for example adding leftover taco meat to a can of chili beans add salsa there’s chili,etc.

YES woo hoo. What a great crowd we had, cheering them on. Chipper still looks young and handsome. Ken has such fond memories of Trevor's dad, he sang the National Anthem at all their baseball games. I am going to show a breakfast plan soon, I have gotten may requests for it. This is our 4th house to have solar, and as you know it is an expensive investment but it pays for itself in just a few years. I'll do an update video with Ken on the solar project too. He Blesses us in every way! Shelby

How come you don't use a large salad bowl for the Asian salads? ....to keep stuff from falling off the plate?
I chop up the amount of veggies I need to make enough salads for our family for dinner or use meal prep containers. I have found we have virtually no food waste this way. Shelby

I have a pretty weird quiestion... I have a family of four and our children are young how do you cook a fresh meal each day with not having a ton of left overs????
That is a great question, I always package the leftovers in those meal prep containers and then we have them for lunches or the boys will eat them if they get hungry. They are very athletic and burn a lot of calories. When they are in school, they take the leftovers for lunch. It helps a bunch on the budget too, because it is so easy to eat out for lunch and not think much about it. But at the end of the month it adds up. Hope that helps. Hugs Shelby
My husband and I love leftovers. My motto is cook once a day. I sometimes turn leftovers to something else for example adding leftover taco meat to a can of chili beans add salsa there’s chili,etc.
