    For those who are deciding on which to go with, both machines are amazing. What sold me on the Silhouette Cameo 4 was not only that the software lets you do so much but also that you can use it offline. So you can create anywhere and then cut it when you get home, whether you have wifi or not.

      I have a Cricut the issues that come from nowhere and you have no idea how to fix it because the customer service is literally awful and they don't answer at all or the answer 4 months later! there is plenty of tutorial for fixing issues from the users but it seems everybody is facing a new issue that the other person hasn't faced yet! so I have to go for Cameo and I hope it doesn't give me problems that I can't solve or figure out

    Silhouette doesn’t have a print-and-cut size restriction. Cricut caps out on print and cut at 6.75x9.25”. Cricut doesn’t do a full 8.5x11 or any other specialty size sheet, silhouette can. Sticker makers often prefer silhouette so they can get more per sheet.

    I have the Cameo 4 and love it. My favorite thing about Silhouette Studio (I have the business edition) is the software. I've seen many videos on the cricut machines and the software is so limited. Things need to be designed in another program (such as inkscape) to do what I can do with the silhouette software easily. I'm sure that the more professional cutters are better and if my business grows I'll look into that, but for now my Cameo is all I need.

    Thanks brother appreciate ya. Before this video we recently purchased the cricut and everything was going very good until I ran into a problem with print and cut. It seemed that the sensor and light was defected and was not reading the sensor marks printed through the cricut. Thought of all the troubleshooting fixes= better lighting,better quality image and print preferences, fresh ink cartridge and when I tried the blade alignment I noticed the sensor light was not going on. When to the manufacturer's website, which suggests to press both A and B down at the same time while the machine is off and nothing. Manufacturer was aware of similar issues like this and suggests to return it. I was just going to return it but where do I go from here? should I get a new cricut (because that particular one machine was defected and the odds of it happening again are slim) or should I get the cameo because both are in the price range. I will def figure it out. Thanks for the video and info, Peace!

      We recommend a Cameo over Cricut. Silhouette is very user friendly and is compatible with other design software such as CorelDRAW and our Design Wizard. Cricut's Design Space software has trouble opening imported designs and working with rhinestones.

    Thanks, Matt, good info. I've been a Cricut user since the beginning, 2005. I purchased a Cameo when the Cricut did not draw and cut but once they made the Cricut Imagine and Cricut expression I went back to my Cricut because I found the software much more user friendly and never got used to silhouette software. I currently have the Cameo3, Brother scan N Cut DX, Cricut air2, and the Maker. I still don't really use the cameo unless something specifically doesn't work with the Cricut.

      Silhouette Cameos are a step in the right direction from a Cricut in terms of dimensions. If you're planning to go larger than 12 inches wide, I recommend cutting out the middleman (Cameo) and going higher to something like a Graphtec or Roland. If you get one of those, you won't ever really have to upgrade for a larger project. Our software is compatible with these cutters, but a Cameo is definitely a great option and it's budget-friendly. :)

    I currently have the silhouette cameo from 2013 and I’ve made some good money off of it over the years. My move shot my client base in the face but I still make some money here and there from it. Over the last couple months my silhouette has wasted so much material, it will stop in the middle of a job and not restart, it will say it’s finished and return to home cutting a line right down my image, or my all time favorite not sync at all. My question is is this fixable or is it just time for a new machine? Thanks for the video!

    Thanks so much for the information. I still need more research and help. I’m a quilter turned mask maker to t-shirt maker within 5 months since COVID-19. I own a brother scan & cut dx which I purchased primarily for cutting fabric. This wasn’t the wisest choice. I have ran into so many problems. I need something that will cut fabric, vinyl and other materials. I’m really into sublimation so I haven’t even tried cutting vinyl yet. Which do you suggest? Cameo or cricut? I make very small detailed silhouettes to appliqué on fabric and quilts. I need a cutter that will be able to cut small details in circular motions without ripping the fabric

      I would typically recommend a Cameo 4 with Silhouette Studio over a Cricut and Design Space, as Design Space is a quite a limiting software and we do tend to see more problems with Cricut cutters than Cameos. However, there's not much at all that you can do with Silhouette Studio Basic Edition and I would have to recommend that you purchase at least Designer Edition of the software to get you started.

Not once in my twenty plus years on the Mac platform have I seen such a half assed piece of software. Especially when it's paired to such a good device. I've been doing all my design work in Illustrator and then either Airdrop or Messages to send the file to my phone. Then use the iOS version of design space to talk to the cutter. Perfect? @habitualcreator, I've been wanting Cricut Explorer for about a year now. What is the Design Wizard Software exactly? Does it come with the Cricut too? Or where do you get it to use?

    • @HabitualCreator
      @HabitualCreator 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dayna-Lyne Vital Hi! It is free software that comes with the Cricut. You can download the app before you purchase the Cricut to play around with it. I use Design wizard to make my designs and then upload the SVG into Cricut Design Space to cut. You can use Design space as an app on your phone, iPad or as an downloadable program on PC or MAC. I hope this helps!

      The TRW Design Wizard is a macro used in conjunction with Corel Draw. It's what we use to create our designs, sold on TheRhinestoneWorld.com along with free trials of the software. (It works in the USA, and if you have a Mac you'll have to run parallels or bootcamp to create a windows environment).
      We have a team especially for social media comments now, and we wanted to reach out and say thank you for being part of the Crew, and that we're here for any questions you might have.
      If you're still following - awesome! If not, we'd love to have you back!
      We go live every Monday night, 8pmEST on our channel with free training and we still do giveaways!
      (To join, hit subscribe and during the live that opens a Live Chat button!)
      Hope to see you there!

    Is the Roland GS-24 CAMM-1 Cutter adjustable to cut paper?

    • @TheRhinestoneWorld
      @TheRhinestoneWorld  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Probably not without some kind of mat or backing behind the paper! I haven't personally tried it but I would imagine regular paper would just be too thin for a Roland.

      It's mostly up to you and what your business will be needing from you. Yes, they're awesome but if you only make small car decals or standard sized htv for shirts then the extra money wouldn't be justified. But we like to say, go with your budget. Cameo beats Cricut for stickers 10 fold. Cricut doesn’t perfectly cut stickers, nor can it do 2 types of cuts at once like silhouette (red and blue options). You can kiss cut and cut through all in one, no manual cutting. Print n cut in Cricut is 6.75x9.25 and silhouette doesn’t have a print n cut restriction. THATS HUGE. Doing big signs? Silhouette has a long feed cut, Cricut doesn’t.
    Pure cutting they’d be even.
    SoftwRe, stickers, feet worth cutting/ silhouette wins.

    • @TheRhinestoneWorld
      @TheRhinestoneWorld  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly, go with your budget. Several machines are great and can all make your cards. The price gets steep with some, but also read reviews on them before deciding. We like the Silhouette mostly because it's software is superior to Cricut. But Cricut is great too in its own ways. So are Graphtec. It helps to make a list of pro/con things and note how pleased or upset the masses were/are in the reviews section, as well as look up common issues with machines to make a good informed decision :-) -TRW Crystal

      No, Save up for the Graphtec or Roland. The Game Changers at the Cameo or Cricut Stage would be upgrading the Software to the TRW Design Wizard and or Upgrading the Cutter to a Servo Motor like the Graphtec or Roland.
