      Yes the zed service pattern can be adjusted to be express to from broadway junction to from Marcy Avenue in the non peak direction and the j train no express after broadway junction and just local after that and this would stop people from getting confused of what train are stopping, and cbtc will help a lot.

    This has been talked about for years. As a matter of fact, the train system proposed to have an express turn on Jamaica Avenue after Broadway Junction East NY. But the community fought it because they wanted stops. Stops are the biggest part of a transit budget.
    The Jamaica Line can support Express services. But they are no stations along the section. So proposing a Woodhaven Express station is necessary.
    However, i also proposed a Jamaica Avenue stations after Cypress Hills. This would just fulfill why the line didn't get built before.

    Also if we have the E train to SE queens run to Cambria heights Instead of the PFA plan I think extending the J parallel to Guy R brewer and sutphin Blvds to Springfield Blvd would be nessacary to reduce crowds and the hefty distance from places like south Jamaica Rochdale etc. you can either have it run with the E until 109th ave or have it run to 168th street and turn southwest then straight south paralleling guy r brewer and sutphin to fully serve SE queens with lines in North queens south queens western Queens eastern central and western Brooklyn and Midtown and downtown Manhattan with having lots of transfers between the two it wouldn't be exactly cheap but it would be a great idea to serve the most riders in SE queens while giving them lots of options thanks to the E and J trains having two completely different routes while running together

      We can accomplish that with the Lefferts Extension however but as far as the SE Queens line goes the E would be better off getting Extended to Rosedale Francis Lewis Blvd for a direct LIRR connection as well as being within a walking distance to Green Acres Mall as well as serving Valley Stream Residents. This allows those residents a one seat ride to Midtown Manhattan with better frequent E Trains.

    Skip stop is, and will ALWAYS be a joke!! If you are not taking the Z to the terminals then it’s useless. Especially where I live along this line. For two reasons. 1) Between Chauncey Street and Van Siclen Avenue, it makes every stop. And if you have to get off or on at a J only stop, that’s just more time. And yes, 10 minutes is the wait time. 2) I literally just a few seconds ago ran for a J train at Broadway Junction at this rush hour time and caught it only to realize I can’t get off at my stop.
    I like the idea of grade separation at Myrtle Avenue. A Union Avenue station would be great as well.

  • @Reformperson
    @Reformperson หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I definitely like this idea with the J line but here’s my take on how we can even get rid of the Cresent St S curve which is not only slow but very noisy. The best way would of course to tear down the el on Fulton St and from there rebuild it along Jamaica Ave which would straighten the J line as well. Stop consolidation would be implemented as well.
    The Jamaica Center Problem would need to be addressed as well as by extending the J to 168 St as well as extending the E to Francis Lewis Blvd using the LIRR ROW. This extension of the E would add a new yard built on the Railroad Park which would be converted to a rail yard exclusively for the E. This would allow the E to run 18tph and to accomplish this we would have an implemented F and M swap, so that we can run more E and F Trains, with this this also fixes 8th Ave by having more frequent E Trains on the local tracks to the point where the C Trains moves to the Express tracks, we can also fix CPW that way as well by having the A and C run express as with this plan we won’t have to construct switches and they can continue straight along 8th Ave at better frequencies.
    The implementation of chances are as follows
    A/C 8th Ave/CPW Express
    B/D 6th Ave Express/CPW Local
    J: Jamaica Center 168th St to Broad St
    This also allows the J to be as good as the L and 7 lines which are the most frequent lines in the system.

      The next thing is having the E Train going to Rosedale Francis Lewis Blvd to increase its capacity to 18tph.
      For the A and C this would allow for deinterlining on 8th Ave and by doing so we can allow the C Trains to go express between 145 St and Canal St like what the A does. The C would be extended to Lefferts Blvd with this plan in the short term and in the future we can have the R join Fulton to have the C run to Lefferts Blvd and from there have the C go to Cambria Heights 229 St while the A remains the same. These changes have the A and C run at 36tph combined. Which is double than what they run at today.

Lines stations should have 10-Cars platforms and 4 Tracks so that the (J)/(Z) have they're own track. The LIRR should no longer end at Belmont Park Station. Instead have the (J)/(Z) end at Belmont Park Station to connect to LIRR Elmont Station for people to work, event in UBS Arena and race track especially for people that lives in Elmont. After Archer Avenue Station, it should be Merrick Boulevard Station. Brooklyn Manor Station should replace Woodhaven Boulevard and 104th Street Station's to transfer to the Queens Link for the 6th Avenue (M) Train would be excellent idea. With station consolidation, hopefully elevator placement is considered (really should be on both ends of the platform to have redunceny as it's impossible to run an elevator 24/7/365 due to maintance.
    Everything east of Mytlre Broadway is an all or nothing to make it worth and NYC doesn't have the track record to give riders confidence that it will do everything promised.

    Lincoln would be an express station and do island platforms Jamaica Center needs four tracks to accommodate the express trains and more j trains can be turned per hour broad St would make do with the city and select locals termination at Chambers St and re-activate the abandoned stations or just the tracks for the zed and the zeds would stop on the middle tracks of chambers st with js terminating on the outer tracks buts it is possible to do the opposite, but the express only operation in one direction 14:51

    The Jamaica line should have been built with four tracks, so there can be true express service in both directions at all times. It would be a significantly faster alternative to the E and F trains

    Very good idea because the j trains would have fewer delays and the upper level should be two tracks and only the m train will service it the viaduct can be eliminated and this helps the m itself. 6:56

    I was genuenly baffled whn I first heard of skip stop. It's just such a stupid concept. And add that it express service on double track is perfectly possible. A number of lines in Tokyo (private and metro alike) operate 24 tph or more on double track with various express services.
    That does of course require some infrastructure such as in station overtakes but it is perfectly possible.
    Quad tracking or separate express lines are of course preferred but if that is not possible there is a way.

      The Williamsburg Bridge is limited to 27 train per hour. Since the tracks are shared by J and M trains, J trains would only be able to run about 10 tph, which is not enough to run peak direction express. So a better alternative for peak direction express is station consolidation so that the entire run time of the line can be decreased.

    • @ianhardy9375
      @ianhardy9375 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Can't, the Z is basically half of the J with a total of 21 train sets in 8 cars and a frequency of 12 tph, a headway of five minutes and operates between Jamaica Center and Broad street so unless the Jamaica line can split into two branches and create new lines as part of the expansion project, there isn't any use for the Z past the rush hour point. Plus, the M train shares the tracks between Myrtle and Essex so that's another problem
