Hi Nick. My Lane Change Assist function is switched off by default and I always have to switch it on when driving. Why is this happening? Can't I set it to be switched on by default? Looking forward to your tips on this one.
Another cool tip for the Mercedes key is that you can hide the key ring holder inside the key for a more flush design. Just press the key release button and push the ring holder inside. It will sit flush with the key fob.

Great video as always Nick! I find that holding down the key to open the windows is a bit hit or miss on my GLC. Also I followed your advice but have now turned off early warning on all parking sensors as it activates a lot when I'm driving in stop start traffic and even when I'm turning right across a main road waiting for a gap in oncoming traffic. Apart from that , great tips!
Hey Jamie, try changing the battery in your key but also note it’ll only work when you’re near the car (just as a heads up). I don’t think it works from a distance.

Hi Nick, I love your videos about all the gadgets on new Mercs. I have to make do with my 2007 model. Your video reminds me of Jeremy Clackson’s mickey take some years ago when he was sat in a new car with the instruction book for hours. I have a similar feeling about these new cars, there seems to be so much to change, set or whatever. I feel I would have to take a thermos and sandwiches while setting up.

Hi Nick. I always find your videos really helpful. I've just received delivery of a V Class 300d. I want to turn on Early Warning All Round for Parktronic, but when I go into the Settings menu on MBUX, I don't have an 'Assistance' option. I only have 'Vehicle', 'Lights' and 'System'. Any idea why that might be and a way around it? Thanks - John

Ah it can vary from model to model what I’ve heard, I seem to remember someone on TH-cam comments mentioned that it was different on the V-Class. Sadly not got my hands on one to review it and check it out myself.

Nick, our EQB does not have memory seat adjustments, but we're thinking of getting a newer one with electric adjustments. I need to know if we can press the memory number before sitting inside, so as a tall person I won't have to squeeze into the seat in order to press my setting. Thanks as always.
Ah cool! I wish I could have gone for that on mine but couldn’t quite stretch to that.
Well the way it works with most modern Mercedes cars from what I’ve seen is that once you’ve loaded up your profile then it can load up your seat with the numbers on the door.
It would depend if it’s one out now or if it’s one in a few month’s time with the facelift.
Sadly not seen the facelift but technically speaking you should be able to jump in, tap your name on the screen and it’ll load up your seat settings.
But I’ll hopefully be able to check it out when it launches 🚀

However i have to press really hard on the break pedal to make it work and sometimes doesn't, im just worried that something is going to break, or is it normal?, also how do i turn off traffic alerts, keep up the good work, i like your videos , it makes me feel good about owning a mercedes

Thanks for very informative videos! I will buy a EQB and the one I have looked at lacks the multi purpose camera but it still got the lane keeping functionality. Is there any advantage to have the camera ( besides the Augmented Reality view)?

Ah thank you! Oh the Augmented Reality? Well that’s just used for the Sat Nav and on some cars Dashcam. That’s all it used for. On most cars there’s either radar or a multi purpose camera already which does the Lane Keeping Assist and Brake Assist safety systems etc.
The Augmented Reality camera is just a 720p camera that you and I can actually see the visuals of.

Quick question, how do I change the increment for the cruise control? Every time I go up fully, the speed increases by 10km/h, but I would prefer 5 km/h.
I drive a W177 A200 with NTG6
It’s like a toggle button, it has two increments so if you do it lightly it shouldn’t go up in 1’s.
@@npoleary thanks for the reply! If I go to the first part, it only goes up by 1, but if go to the second part, it goes up by 10. I remember there being a setting to change the large increment, but I can’t find it. Could it have been removed or do you know where it is?
Hi Nick! May I check, how can we disable/hide that tiny mini Speedo gauge on around the top left of the circumference of the right dial in the instrument panel?
It’s shows xx mph if basic unit is km/h whereas it shows xx kph if basic unit is m/h. But I remembered it’s nothing there when I first got the vehicle (yesterday). Driving an eqb250.

That’s always been there, it’s a legal requirement to have two units of measurement on the screen. Some manufacturers print it in the dials, some like Mercedes have a Digital version. You can’t turn it off, it will have always been there, never seen a car without it when reviewing Mercedes cars.

Hi Nick. I just bought a Mercedes GLB (awaiting delivery). Is there a recommended process to break in the car?
As with anything new, it’s best not to race a car from new (so no kick down on the accelerator pedal etc)
And the brakes of course being new so just go a tad cautious for the first couple of hundred miles. Only exception is Mercedes-AMG’s like a GLB 35, they have a running in period of 1,000 miles

Cranking noise? Not sure what you mean, some cars still have starter motors where as some new cars now have Mild Hybrid tech so they start almost instantaneously.
Yes you can use Google in the car when Android Audi is connected. Hey Mercedes can also work too but it’s best to stick with one of the two operating systems 🤓
what is the green line that moves in the navigation good for

If it’s the green / turquoise ring round the Sat nav, that’s range in terms of how far you can drive
Thanks Nick for brilliantly informative videos😊 I have amg line 2023 C class with, I assume, Mubx 7 but when I access the browser tethered to my iPhone I can’t play TH-cam on the central display. It finds the TH-cam site but when you click on the videos they refuse to play? Am I missing something as it plays Mercedes promotional videos. The software is saying that it is up to date.
The other slightly irritating thing is that when car play is on but Mercedes Home Screen is displayed I have to use the phone via Siri and Apple CarPlay? Welcome your thoughts and keep up the great work ! n

I had tried this on an S-Class that I produced a video some time ago on so assume it still works. It worked in my own car when I tried something the other day. Just bear in mind it does also depend on your tariff too.
For Apple CarPlay, that’s a replacement for your multimedia system, that’s how CarPlay works. If you don’t want to use the phone functions and use the Mercedes phone functions instead you’ll need to turn CarPlay off and disconnect it and just use Bluetooth instead.
Both are great systems but as one is your phone (Apple) and one the car (Mercedes) for the best experience it’s best to just pick one.
Hi Nick, many thanks for responding so quickly. I will have a look at my settings as it seems likely I am doing something wrong which is not allowing videos to play. I have 30gb of data on my phone so it should be ok but suspect a setting issue. I am not a great fan of Apple CarPlay and might turn it off as the Mercedes system is responsive and elegant. Thanks again and your videos make all the difference to enjoying and making the most of Mercedes 😊@@npoleary
Also that’s a thing too that’s occurred to me
You can’t hotspot the car while using CarPlay either as Apple CarPlay uses WiFi for its interface so yeah might be best to disable if you prefer the other.

Oh strange, I think the only things that should switch on/off automatically are Active Brake Assist, Parking Sensors, Lane Keeping Assist and the car’s alarms.
Not ever heard of anything else turning on/off automatically. Have you spoken to Mercedes? They might be able to check it out for you.
Unless, this is something to do with UN-R 79 regulations, sadly not been able to test a car out with that feature for a couple of years.
@@npoleary yes. Took it to the dealer a few times. They replaced the camera lens. Still needs to be switched on every now and then

You can change voice assistants in Apple CarPlay and possibly Android Auto but I’ve not seen a way to change the voice assistant in Mercedes.
It’s always a female voice though? Is yours different?

Mercedes dealerships are only allowed to sell cars as they’re described so I’m pretty sure they can’t “modify” and existing car.
I guess it could “technically” be done but as most manufacturers don’t retrofit things, it would probably have to be done 3rd party.

Oh no DAB radio? Well it depends if the car had it from new? Depends on the year of the car too.
If it doesn’t have it, try using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto where you can use an app called TuneIn Radio.

It depends on the specification of the car and the country the car is for sale in. (Sorry hard to tell where everyone is on TH-cam comments)
Specs vary massively round the world, in the UK 360° cameras have never been available on GLB but I’ve heard this is coming to the facelift later this year

Great - but a few basics to sort please Mercedes.
2017 E class with supposedly better option of the Comand satnav plus I have bought the extra annual upgrade. It really does not seem to work in real time and my satnav in my 2006 W211 which re-routed you and showed slow traffic. Really disappointed with this aspect of the car as it just takes me to traffic jams when there are other routes google gives.
Also can we please just have a setting to disable the tailgate lift button on the key fob. It is far too sensitive and you go out the restaurant and find your tailgate open as it can press if the key is in your pocket.

For Live Traffic, various different systems will vary, Google Maps can sometimes be more accurate as it uses everyone’s phone out there as a source. Compared with Live Traffic on a car, Mercedes use TomTom Live Traffic so they have their own sources for that. It depends on the situation; it could appear quickly or could take a little longer.
With the key, I haven’t seen a way to turn buttons off on a key before but if I hear of anything I’ll be sure to make a video!

iv gone through most if not all of the EQC 400 300KW AMG LINE PREMIUM 80KWH 5DR AUTO reviews plus, now this word AUTO, can you do a video of the steering wheel Paddles, im having a hard time trying to understand what there for if the car only has 1 shift AUTO like do a Fred flint stone, im saving up a deposit for one of these may be in white with the black wheels and those wheels are some of the best iv ever seen or that Cavansite blue and also Graphite grey iv owned paddle shift and Sequential gearbox cars both systems in one car, as been a racing driver i like doing it my self stuff the mods on saving battery i don't drive like a nuns Hammock, and up the cameras, ill be blasting the EQC 400, round the race track at Alton Race Track to be Precise ah, take it Bro have a nice day 👍
I'm pretty confident the paddles on the EQ models will change how regen braking happens when you lift off the acceralte pedal.
As stated they are for the regenerative braking. They are self explanatory (- on the left, + on the right) and if you look at the bottom of the screen (where it says D R erc) you will see this change when you're driving in the sequence D- / D / D auto / D+

Ah basically they’d normally change gear but in an EQC they adjust the brake recuperation. Depending on the car, they’ll be options for D+, D AUTO, D, D- and D- -.
They basically adjust how much the car brakes when you take your foot off of the accelerator pedal in Mercedes Electric cars.

I’d love to but I sadly don’t have access to any new ones. Mercedes sell them completely separately in the UK, there’s passenger car dealerships but then also commercial dealerships where the vans are sold.
Maybe in the future it’s possible! I’ll have to see what I can do!
@@npoleary next time you’re in the US you can use mine. Lots of “B-class” rv’ers (w/MB vans) in the US. IB-class is the fastest growing class of rv’ers. Or, maybe find a RV’er in the UK with a MBUX?

People with touchpad ntg6 won’t even get an update to ntg7 it’s a whole different system. You’d have to upgrade the vehicle

I asked a mercedes employee about this: first he said because the put in the newer steeringwheel with everything touch and saver to use voice ... the second time i asked again ( because at that moment he saw it himself) his answer was : yup to get more money out of it
@@sunrise7236I’m glad I bought last year instead of this year. As much as I love my GLE, the voice assistant is a bit of a disappointment and I usually need to repeat myself a few times before she gets it right. With nav though, she usually can’t find the place I’m looking for so relying on voice command would not work for me. Counting my lucky stars that I have the touchpad. Hopefully they bring it back in future models. I rely on the tactile feel while driving. The touchscreen just doesn’t do it for me which is one of the reasons I won’t get a Tesla.
Hey sunrise NTG 7 is the new multimedia system but it’s the new generation. It’s not a software update so is only found on certain new models.
How do I turn off the interior alarm, for when my dog is in the car.

Yup, I have regretted it ever since. A squeaky drive belt which is apparently common on the A class, and the sluggish response for the throttle when asked of the engine. Then the creaking on the passenger side CV joint with a dry bushing (hopefully!) Good riddance for a Mazda.

Sadly I’ve not seen any settings to turn that feature on/off.
You could also check the battery in the key, of course you need the key with you but just thinking outside the box, it could be low or something.
Should have taught us how to turn the Smart Key off so thieves cannot detect and extend the signal. I know that on the old Smart Key, you press the lock button twice in succession. You will then see the LED in the key flash twice quickly, then once for about a second. This turns off the key so it no longer emits a signal. To turn it back on again, simply press the unlock button.

The interface is so childish feel to it . Am i the only one?
