Thank you Nick, I had a 10 o’clock appointment with my dealer today to ‘fix’ that annoying rear seatbelt warning sign on my GLE , but now I can cancel it. Mercedes need to remove it or handle it more elegantly as most folks think it’s a seat belt malfunction .Thanks again, great job.
That was really good, useful and to the point Nick. I picked up my CLA Shooting Brake two weeks ago now. It’s in Patagonia Red (metallic) and I was really relieved that the red/black leather seats really complimented it rather than overpowered it. The reason is the dark glass all round does not let you see the seats till you’re inside and sitting obviously hides a lot of the red anyway. I really recommend the choice. I learnt from five out of ten of your video points today so that is super brilliant. Nick, nobody does it better so please hang around.🇬🇧🇲🇹👍

Thank you Nick for taking the time to advise me about my query. We will give it a go on the drive at home and if necessary go to the local dealership. I'll still continue to watch your tips and tricks though as they have also been very useful. Best wishes.
There is certainly a lot of tech in them these days, but the best thing is it can be all customised, toned down or toned up depending on your preference. I know some owners who just literally drive them and don’t even connect a phone or use anything apart from radio on the multimedia system.
Many thanks for explaining the AIRBAG signal. User manual is no clear at all. It leaves to “faith” or trust wether the system works properly or not. Now with your sample getting out and into the car. I understand how the signals work and how to interpret them.
Thanks Nick, each of those FAQs were so interesting to learn about, the first few were questions I always have about my Mercedes ....so thank you very much for answering those questions..
Thank you so much Nick for your useful infors on the Mercedes Benz. I just bought a new Merc. can not wait to watch your latest video. Thanks again! All the best.

Another great video Nick. Had my new E300 cabriolet Night Edition since the first of March and still learning some great things about MBUX. Just waiting for Mercedes to activate the Dashcam facility Keep up the great work
Thanks for a very informative video for a first time Mercedes owner Nick. Your easy to follow videos have helped my understanding of all the tech in my car. Cheers

I’ve tried to set this up several times but give up because I can’t remember my code! Love your videos, BTW. This one answered some questions puzzling me for some time. Mine is 2020 A-Class AMG Premium Plus.
Hi again Nick. I’ve looked through your collection and I’d like to recommend you do a video dedicated to an 'A to Z of the Mercedes Key Fob'. It sounds too simple but I’m realising that nobody seems to have all it’s potential listed in one reference place. For new Mercedes users like me it would be a godsend. Thanks again. Joseph
@@npoleary Hey Nick! New Mercedes user here. Did you get around to making a video on the key fob? Please share the link if yes. I am binge-watching all your videos so I am not clueless when my C class arrives this week. 😂
Ah cool Bob! That’s a good suggestion, although I wouldn’t call myself a complete “pro” at cleaning a car 😅 I’ve used Autoglym products in the past and they are great. They also have a wide variety of products for almost every surface in a car.
@@npoleary - we’ve ( my wife) has spilt cream from a donut, soft crumbs from bread and biscuits and god knows what else on the seats. The problem is, that the leather seats that have small breather holes, or fancy stitching, get clogged with this. Particularly the holes. It dries and is very difficult to remove. We have black leather seats. The squashed biscuits look horrid. It get clogged in the carpet. Mercedes had no suggestions. Save with a toothpick, but that wasn’t successful either. Cheers
Ah right okay, honestly I haven’t tried to clean something like that before although there will be stuff out there to do the job! I just haven’t used anything personally so wouldn’t be able to recommend anything at the moment.
Hi Nick, I have recently purchased a 2015 S class coupe. One glaring omission is the Clock or lack of. Any suggestions for replacing this favourite of mine.
Hey Whiter00m, is that the analogue clock? There are digital clocks on the screens usually, I haven’t seen a way for them to be hidden or anything so they should be there.
Always enjoy watching your videos. Many thanks! I’m still confused over profiles. I like to run my C 63 sport in sport+ mode and have my settings setup in my profile. But… every time I start up it defaults back to comfort mode. When I look at profiles mine is selected. What am I not getting?
Hey Jeff, unfortunately all cars have to start in their default mode called comfort. Wish you could get it start in any mode every time though! I believe it’s something to do with emission regulations or something.
@@npoleary I also ride a 2018 Honda Goldwing GL1800. It too has a "comfort" mode called "Tour". Sport mode on the bike is like sport mode on the car. Honda too always had the bike default back to Tour. Had my ECM flashed that allows the modes to "stick". It will boot to where you left it. It's a shame some genius out there couldn't the same on the MB. :-) Thanks!
The charge bar actually shows that it's charging the auxiliary battery by regenerative braking, Auxiliary battery is majorly used to power the start stop function and a few more while the main battery is used to power up the rest of the car in normal circumstances.
Hey nick , loved this . Appreciated. What I don’t like or don’t know about Mercedese is - 1. When we drive the car with Adaptive cruise control or Distronic on and if any vehicle comes in front then car slows down , let’s say , I am driving at 130 and vehicle in front appears then it slow downs to let’s say 80 based on speed of front vehicle . But if that vehicle moves out of the lane then Mercedes take pick up crazily from 80 to 130 which is like lot of push , can’t be more steady growth in speed rather than sudden push ? 2. When we drive with distronic and current road sign for speed is 120 after few meters if it’s 50 then car starts slowing down once it reaches 50 symbol road sign which again takes time slow down . Ideally this should be reduced to 50 before it reaches speed sign post of 50 . BMW works awesome for this . (I hope you are getting what I am trying to ask ) Do you know how to handle this ?
Hey Pankaj, thank you! For number 1, I had seen that on some cars it does depend on what driving mode you’re in. So if you’re in Sport, then it’ll accelerate faster. Eco of course will be slower. They don’t all do that and I believe it’s models with MBUX that might have that functionality. I remember reading about it in a manual once. For number two, yes this is normal for cars with Traffic Sign Assist. When the camera has scanned the sign that’s when it can adopt the speed limit (usually once you’ve past it). Not sure how other manufacturers work with that feature.
@@npoleary Hey Nick , Thanks for your reply . 1. Number 1 : I tested it in all mode specially in Eco mode and comfort but it behaves same .. faster acceleration.
Ah okay, it can vary depending on specification and models round the world and the year of release. Sadly apart from that, there aren’t any other settings to control on how fast it accelerates.
Thank you for the videos Nick. Just bought a Mercedes’ for the first time and I’m checking out your videos before I even drive it. Your content has reached Australia! Two questions - if you want to drive forwards into a car park (parking assist) where do you stop the car in relation to the spot? And when the car is moving in or out of a car park and you disconnect the active parking assist (ie accidentally) can you can re engage it again?
Oh wow! That’s awesome! Glad you’re enjoying them! Ah it’ll tell you on the screen once you’ve gone far enough (usually a car length after the space) Sadly no, once deactivated for example if you touch the wheel and move it, there is no way to deactivate until unless you drive past the space again.
Used the sat nav for the first time recently on my C Class, it was way out for a long distance 4 hour drive across Ireland. Basically had me driving an extra 55 minutes unnecessary BUT for shorter distances and in particular certain hotspots, points of interests, parking it is excellent 👍
That Passenger air bag light freaked me out. I had been digging around in the car, while looking at the fuse box and for ways to route dash cam cable. I thought I had broken something to cause the air bag to fail. Only figured it out much later, that it only enabled when someone was sat there.
Think Mercedes are working on it for future models! C-Class 2022, S-Class 2022, EQS 2022 can do this now 👀 Basically any model with the MBUX on the portrait styled screen in the middle as it’s multimedia system can do this.
There are some useful vids here, and similarly in a lot of videos on TH-cam. You know what it REALLY proves in most instances though, is that people have never opened the handbook. (Doesn't apply to just cars either).
Nick I did not know where to put this: My oil level in the service menu is just below Max, so ok. I opened the Workshop menu and scrolled to oil level. The oil level switches from liters to quarts on its own and does not vary the # qts or # Liters very much, so this must be a software bug. This is present in my 2020 GLE350 4 MATIC and my friend's 2024 GLE I looked at the oil level on my scantool on the 20202 GLE and it reads 98 mm well within normal so it correlates with the oil level graphic but not with the Workshop Menu. Thanks for considering and passing the info to Mercedes.
Oh I see, I mean on my car I’ve looked at my oil level just out of curiosity and it’s obviously where it should be but not noticed any flickering. Sadly I only know people at my local Mercedes and Mercedes press office. If you have feedback it might be best to submit a contact us / feedback form on their website.
Basically not all Mercedes can do it, it’s not a feature printed in brochures so the only way to see if your car can do it is to try with a memory stick.
good to watch. I have now had my 2021 Mercedes Benz GLA 180 (1st ever Merc 4 me); and still getting used to the car. One thing I can’t see is how too flick on the front windscreen wipers to remove water droplets without using screen wash / wiper function? I do have my front wiper in auto mode. Also, rear wiper - how to activate its screen wash? The joy of a new system 🙊
Thank you! The button on the end of the stalk is a two type button. Press lightly for one wipe, hard for a spray Rear wiper button is just a hard press again (two buttons built into one)
Once your car is linked to your Mercedes me account, you can view the pricing on the Mercedes me portal which subsequently takes you to the Vodafone website. Last time I visited the website, monthly prices for the UK were £11 a month for 2GB and £20 a month for 15GB. There were other pay as you go prices but they’ll be listed on there if you have a look 🤓 Hope that helps!
Hey Frank, hard to tell as there are many contributing factors. Start/Stop technology won’t operate under certain conditions so it may not work all the time, but if you think there’s something wrong then if you get in touch with your local Mercedes I’m sure they’ll be able to assist!

There is certainly a lot of tech in them these days, but the best thing is it can be all customised, toned down or toned up depending on your preference.
I know some owners who just literally drive them and don’t even connect a phone or use anything apart from radio on the multimedia system.
Another great and informative video Nick - thanks for your excellent work!! - Peter
Thanks Peter! 🤓
Aha thanks snuggles03! Glad you enjoyed them! 🤓
Thanks for that, the seat belt notification was bugging the hell out of me! Now I understand, and it actually makes sense
🤓
Aha yeah I know! Thought I’d cover it on here as it is asked a lot! 😅

Fantastic information and detail in all of your videos Nick. Newly changing over from an Audi S3 to the A35 AMG (hopefully tomorrow) so these videos have been keeping my mind away from the long (not that long) wait :) Thanks mate.
Ah awesome! Ooo an A35! I’d love one of those!
Thanks Nick, always great content. Cheers
Thanks Lyndon 20! Glad you like them 🤓

Thanks so much Nick. Another great and informative video mate 😀
Thanks Daz! 🤓
Nicely explained everything...... thanks Nick
Thanks Kay! 🙏
I rented an eclass in germany instead of a Fiat 150€ extra for a week. What can I say mercedes is something else, and my own car is an audi a5. It will not be for long.
Thanks Nick. Two of those were a big help. 👍
Thanks Ken! Glad you found it useful!

Hi nick anytime can u talk about “office in the car” please especially in the e class 220 née model 2020.
Keep up the awesome vids u do.
Thanks Paul glad you like the videos! I had considered producing a video on In-Car Office but as all it did was just show your calendar, I thought I’d park it for a while.
I might consider it over the summer though
I’ve tried to set this up several times but give up because I can’t remember my code! Love your videos, BTW. This one answered some questions puzzling me for some time. Mine is 2020 A-Class AMG Premium Plus.
Thanks David! Glad you like the videos! 🤓
Joseph
Thanks Joseph! I’ll add it to the list for potential future videos! 🤓
@@npoleary Hey Nick! New Mercedes user here. Did you get around to making a video on the key fob? Please share the link if yes. I am binge-watching all your videos so I am not clueless when my C class arrives this week. 😂
Ah I did it’s one of my latest videos, made it just under 3 months ago so it’s public for everyone to see.
th-cam.com/video/mCL6Ifs77RM/w-d-xo.html
Really good. I’d like to see a video on how to care for the artificial or leather or a mix of upholstery in a Mercedes
Ah cool Bob! That’s a good suggestion, although I wouldn’t call myself a complete “pro” at cleaning a car 😅
I’ve used Autoglym products in the past and they are great.
Another great informative video. Answered 2 of key queries.
Wooo! Glad you liked it Neil! 🤓
@@npoleary Always wondered about the rear seat belt image and why. And the passenger airbag sign. Everyday is a school day.
Thanks Nick this was really helpful
No problem Mark!
what a PRO, thanks Nick
Haha thank you! Glad you enjoyed this one! 🤓🙏
Very interesting and useful! Many thanks.
No worries! Thanks William!
Thanks!
Good job. For me is interesting how is working traffic jam assist.
Excellent. Well explained. Thanks.
Thanks Daryoush! 🤓
Thanks a lot for this Video Nick. Some of these warnings were really irritating me
No worries!
The charge bar actually shows that it's charging the auxiliary battery by regenerative braking, Auxiliary battery is majorly used to power the start stop function and a few more while the main battery is used to power up the rest of the car in normal circumstances.
Hey nick , loved this . Appreciated.
What I don’t like or don’t know about Mercedese is -
(I hope you are getting what I am trying to ask )
Do you know how to handle this ?
@@npoleary Thats sad Nick . Thanks for your suggestion .
Great video Nick 👍
Thank you! 🤓
Ah it’ll tell you on the screen once you’ve gone far enough (usually a car length after the space)
Sadly no, once deactivated for example if you touch the wheel and move it, there is no way to deactivate until unless you drive past the space again.
Used the sat nav for the first time recently on my C Class, it was way out for a long distance 4 hour drive across Ireland. Basically had me driving an extra 55 minutes unnecessary BUT for shorter distances and in particular certain hotspots, points of interests, parking it is excellent 👍
Hmmm, did it re-route for Live Traffic or something?
Niiiick! Your videos are amazing! Is there one that tells how to disarm the annoying seatbelt chime in the new GLC 300? Thank you, thank you!
Thank you! 🤓
Seatbelt chime? Is that the one when the belt isn’t clipped in?
That Passenger air bag light freaked me out. I had been digging around in the car, while looking at the fuse box and for ways to route dash cam cable. I thought I had broken something to cause the air bag to fail. Only figured it out much later, that it only enabled when someone was sat there.
Very helpful. Thanks!
No worries! 🙏
Thank you for all your knowledge you give us 👍it really is appreciated 🙂keep up the great work 👍🙂👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you! 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks Nick! I wish we could link the profiles to seat memory as well!
Think Mercedes are working on it for future models! C-Class 2022, S-Class 2022, EQS 2022 can do this now 👀
Basically any model with the MBUX on the portrait styled screen in the middle as it’s multimedia system can do this.
There are some useful vids here, and similarly in a lot of videos on TH-cam.
You know what it REALLY proves in most instances though, is that people have never opened the handbook. (Doesn't apply to just cars either).
Hi Nick, thanks for the another great video 👍👍
Thanks Jag! 🤓
Hate the rear seat indicator thing! Having to click passed it every time !
Another great video! Unfortunately I still do not understand the basics of #8, how to get video playback on my MBUX.
Basically not all Mercedes can do it, it’s not a feature printed in brochures so the only way to see if your car can do it is to try with a memory stick.
@@npoleary I'll give it a try. Thank you for your help!
Super! Thanks!
good to watch.
Press lightly for one wipe, hard for a spray
Rear wiper button is just a hard press again (two buttons built into one)
Great work as ever Nick. Question: Where do i find costing information to have the internet enabled on my car?
Once your car is linked to your Mercedes me account, you can view the pricing on the Mercedes me portal which subsequently takes you to the Vodafone website.
Last time I visited the website, monthly prices for the UK were £11 a month for 2GB and £20 a month for 15GB.
There were other pay as you go prices but they’ll be listed on there if you have a look 🤓
Hope that helps!
Thanks for a lot of nice information. But Start/stop don't work. The battery is ok ???
Hey Frank, hard to tell as there are many contributing factors.
Start/Stop technology won’t operate under certain conditions so it may not work all the time, but if you think there’s something wrong then if you get in touch with your local Mercedes I’m sure they’ll be able to assist!
