Ok I just wanna say that Mr. Mime artwork at 9:57 looks Amazing!! I'm still not sold on the TCG price point for this product but the cards do look banging 😎
Something that is not being mentioned much is that this set was designed by Nendo, a high-end japanese design firm that makes, among many other things, luxury yet minimalistic home items. I think this was crafted in the same way as a pretty nice chess board, for example... Definitely not our everyday Pokémon TCG product. Also, while I don't think the intention was to make this limited edition or anything, I believe it will not be overproduced. It's expensive yeah, but I think is's worth it if we take the whole context into consideration. Also, I think it will at the very least hold its value over the years!

And also is a bad idea to put the best cards at front for any bad situations like dents , poke and scratches..some people will be salty !

When i originally saw them they were just selling the decks, so i was wondering where they even came from. Seeing the holo go on all cards is making me realise how exclusive this set is supposed to be, but cmon, they are really playing with people's noustalgia. At least i dont have to look for my favorite evolution in this bling holo

This box is not as bad as everyone makes it seem. Is it a lot of money? Sure. But a Set of the 9 starters is about 250-300, pika is at $40 leaving you with 170 cards on the low end $5 a pop…it’s a great return based on what you’re spending
why would you compare a set of the starters to that? they're different cards. both in price, and designs and effects. also they're not tournament legal. so there's no reason to compare them. they're glorified modified proxies. they have pretty foil, but comparing to the original cards makes no sense
@@shinreilba you’re not understanding. The set I refer to is of the starters that come INSIDE the decks you get. Not once am I comparing these to the original base set cards. Only one not making sense here is you.

Based on those new cards we'll get in later sets. We're probably getting something like scarlet and violet 151 for the Johto region.
I highly doubt we will ever see a generation 2-3 151 type set, but I am all for being proven wrong.
the EX cards are gonna be exlusive to the tcg classic and not legal for tournament play (at least according to pokebeach), but im not sure about those pokemon tool cards.
Literally impossible to make a Johto 151 because they can't print a set with a card like Porygon-2 or Espeon without Eevee or Porygon
@@Scoitoli mean, they can regardless: baby evolutions still need their evolutions, as long as it doesnt stray with evolutions from only the kanto league or whatever
@@noahboat580 no because in the TCG baby pokemon are totally distinct from thier evolutions so they are not needed to play Thier evolution
It doesn't include the 151 pokemon at least dang. I was thinking it would. Going to be skipping this and hoping someone puts the energy cards on ebay. :P
managed to get all 3 decks on ebay shipped from japan for £165 , cant wait to sleeve and add these to the collection, the english ones look meh compared to the japanese, im pretty sure in 10 years these will be worth a small fortune.

Majorly regretting not buying one of these English versions. Don’t think people understand, these will only keep going up in price on the secondary market. It having each card being a holo, even 4-$500+ booster boxes can’t compete with these. People don’t understand how insane these are. Man I’m regretting it
they're not insane. and the english versions will be even less valuable, since despite costing 150 bucks MORE the foil and treatement are worse, making the cards less valuable. it's a gimmick. a cool gimmick, but it won't mean much

Get real, Pokémon is a business and a product fist and foremost. Of course they’re going to appealing to people from my generation (90’s kids who have jobs now) because young kids don’t have this kind of money to blow on cards 🤷🏻♂️ I love sets like this and I hope they continue to support our love for the original characters. If anything I’m tired of them ruining old characters with new evolutions.
Seriously, I would love something like this for Gen 2 or 3, I love a lot of Pokémon from those gens...

@@UMGL420 honestly Sun&Moon was even worse. Scarlet&Violet is bad. Sword&Shield was good, but XY was great. I was not here in the hobby while Diamond&Pearl was release though I'm not going to discuss those pre-b&p era cards.
