"When Gabby wanted it" - he pretty much never wanted it after MON left; took the piss the years after, all that smoke about him being a bad egg for years and I chose to ignore it because he was my favourite player... He, (along with many other parts of course!), was a big part of why the Club declined. NOT a Villa legend - stop saying it.
Gabby only wanted it when we played the Blues, every other game he just couldn't be arsed.

Big club, not massive
As a Villa fan I wouldn't disagree, we need sustained success to become massive but remember we were once the most famous name in football and we are in the 2nd biggest city in the UK so there are no limits to our potential.
Realising that potential is another matter, we have a lot of ground to make up on the top clubs.

When I was a kid they were bigger than Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City and Spurs. it’s just that other club has recently built bigger stadiums and have grown their global fan base due to the Champions League. If Villa can break into the Champions League with a sustained presence for a few seasons they can quickly become massive again.
