I'm a Villa fan but I am not here to mock because we have had our ups and downs and plus I'm midlands born and bred and I don't delight in the second city suffering relegation it's not good for our area. Rivalry put aside as far as I'm concerned. It will take time to build the vision that the owner's have. While relegation is not good sometimes a step back can help you go forward relegation has allowed my club to restructure and we are better for it now.

Not a single blues fan thinks we are bigger than Villa, we know Villa are the bigger club. The point is, as a team that bears the name of England’s second city we have been underachieving for our entire existence.
Most of us just want to be a main stay in the premier league and challenging would be a bonus. And, we miss the derbies!

@@TP-pq9xx True, and no club has a given right to be in the premier league but the fact that Birmingham City isn’t in the prem and the likes of Bournemouth and Luton are makes me feel a bit sick.
The maths* doesn’t work out atm but when we start playing well and if we ever get back to the prem the fan base will come back. The fan base is there, we just don’t turn up. It’s still only half of the new stadium but when we played arsenal in the league cup final we had 35k there.
We’ve always had potential but people don’t like admitting it. Our history is similar to a Swansea, couple of cups to our name etc, but we are based in a huge catchment area. To say Birmingham isn’t a great opportunity for expansion and success is stupid. New fans can also be a thing as well you know.

This supposed 60K ARENA just down the road from St Andrews is about one thing and one thing only- Commercial Revenue and Profit from external sources such as concerts and the like.
This isn't about Birmingham City Football Club because if it were they would be investing in getting them into the Premier League by pouring millions into a team that really needs heavy investment. This is about external revenue stream and not helping BCFC to succeed in the short term

You cannot pump millions in to your team there are roles to abide by. 30% of the money you spend must come from profits made by your club you can only top that off with another 30% cash injection. Considering the size of the gap there is right now between both sides it's hard to imagine blues being able to bridge the gap by first having to gain 2 promotions "now that they will be playing next season in league 1" which will at least take them 2 years, that's saying they are able to get back to back promotions straight away?? Then they will have to build a squad better than villas, increase revenue, stadium capacity, ticket sales, club exposure "doing all this at the same time whilst you can only see villa going from strength to strength!! Considering it's now looking extremely likely that we will be playing in the champions league next season?? Obviously with that you're club is being watched worldwide, thus increasing your global audience bringing in more revenue, naturally our team/squad will get stronger, also our owners are extending the stadium attendance etc etc.... So the comment about blues will overtake villa is in my opinion wishful thinking!!! But of course stranger things have happened.. UTV... VTID...

Exactly what though? We rarely got beat by top 4 teams under McLeish. It was no accident that Arsenal struggled to break us down, even with players like Wilshere, Van Persie, Nasri, Song, Arshavin and Rosicky. You either show up and win a final, or you don’t. The facts are, we beat you on the way to the final. I suppose you didn’t show up either? The big team with all the best players and the best history. You either win, or you don’t. Say bye to the biggest stadium in Birmingham. Say hello to looking underdeveloped and stagnant.

To truly understand the task ahead the owners should be aware that certainly within Europe, maybe the world, there's not another club that resides in such a large city, only have one neighbor and have consistently been throughout their 150 history an abject failure. Honestly, if they were to go into administration tomorrow and close, within a week nobody would care. Talk is cheap. The new owners may have bitten off more than they can chew. It would probably save them both time and millions if they just focused on building an entertainment center and they'd likely see a return within their lifetime. Good luck to them, they're going to need it. Lots of it.
