Yes! TwoSet I think would be happy to colab with a flutist! They got the basics, but it would be cool for them to see!!!!

I just want to say how incredibly helpful you are to me. I been playing for 11 years but took a 4 year break. Getting back to my previous level of playing has been hard but your insight really has helped me a lot.

Adam Neely advocates using your arm as a practice tool in the same manner you're exploring. He's a fellow TH-camr music theory heavy jazz bassist.

This sequence of notes is also very difficult for me, I have the exact same problems that you described. Nothing seems to help, so I will definitely be trying this!

Joanna!! The piano thing, pop your flute head joint on your shoulder so your flute is out in front of you and then you can practice just the fingerings and see them. I also did the splitting the hands thing

It still looks, in your "after" clip, like the flute might still be moving on you a little bit as you do the exercise. Everyone has probably already told you to check where your right thumb is so this doesn't happen? When you're showing your fingers at the beginning. It does look like it's too far down, but idk if you're even holding the flute against your face for that. I use a Rockstro grip so my thumb is on the side of the instrument, not under it at all, but I know there are lots of "right way"s to do it. I'm sure you cover it yourself in your beginning stuff so I hope this doesn't offend you, but it might still help to double check it and make sure you can take all your fingers off the flute and wiggle them around, etc... without it moving on you before you try to do something that needs all of them to come off and on very quickly, if you haven't thought about this.

My flute teacher recommended that years ago. I used to take a pencil in school and did that all the time.

Hello, I'd like to request a Practice With Me video. (If that's ok with you, I totally understand if that's not possible at the moment and if that would interrupt with any future plans) The song I was thinking of was the Karg-Elert Chaconne for Solo Flute. The song in total features the entire base scale of the flute (from C4 to D7) and revolves around a main bass line and variation system, as of now I have been using this song as a practice technique due to its gradual increase in difficulty and its decently technical runs. If you could please consider this as another Practice With Me piece the hard work and effort would be greatly appreciated.

Can do you a video about stories from youth symphonies? I’m joining the top GTCYS orchestra as a first year junior and I’m really nervous. I’ve already met a few gtcys kids at all state orchestra this summer.

In this exercise, what is the purpose of using the G# key? My background is 3 year jr high band, 20 yr simple system flute, (Irish trad music), back to re learning Modern system for liturgical music and also the playing of Irish trad as well for those pesky odd key, fiddle tunes (A min, D min, and C maj.) compositions. When I played the exercise you were doing , I found that it was easy, however I realized I wasn’t using the G# key. When I purposely used the G# key in this exercise, I found it extremely awkward, hence the question I posed. Thanks. By the way, I love your videos, I have picked up many useful tips for my playing (on both SS and MS).

I know this is quite random, but can any one tell me the difference between japanese and American made flutes? I want to know which one has a dark and powerful sound. I would greatly appreciate any help please.

Does anybody have any recommendations for cheap piccolos? Under $600 USD? Thanks!

    • @thoregulden4545

The one by DiZhao and the Yamaha YPC-32 should be a good choice for that Budget but you should know that Piccolos made out of wood are sooo much softer in tone and the speak way better with a wooden headjoint.
