On this episode we are doing some improvements on our big cabin also!

I'm watching you guys from Mississippi...glad it doesn't get THAT cold here!💙🥴
@@vincentsolomon3393 thank you so much for the kind words! So happy to have you on the channel! Are you new to our channel?
Mississippi sounds amazing! How cold is it in winter there?
Very cool sled Kristie.....fun weekend get away. I especially like the commute, lol. Best wishes my friends
Thanks! Tonya is the best skidoo ever.
The commute is perfect! We’ve come a very long way from having to walk 3km each way from the end of the road, to the cabins when we first bought them lol
Southern Alberta here. Just warming up after -39C!! And, fresh snow. Woo hoo! Love your channel, location and personalities...oh and that pizza!!!!!🙃😜 👍🇨🇦😎
Marian, we truly do appreciate you. You’re one of the few that drops us a note every single video. It means so much to us!
I know you’ve been experiencing the deep freeze also! Hopefully it’s better now!
A hour south of Edmonton myself.
Trophy Wife, awesome song. Sitting in front of the woodstove here in Michigan, it's 9 degrees Fahrenheit, 19 inches of snow. Awesome video thanks for sharing.
Michigan!! There’s a lot of viewers from your neck of the woods. We must be like minded people. Perhaps we should visit there someday?
That’s just a touch warmer than here today! What a flip we’ve had these last 2 days!
And finally we are getting some snow!
I'm from michigan also thinking about finding some property
Thank you for bringing us with you! Beautiful country.
Thank you!! Happy to have you here!
Real quick as a re comment I love love the frost on the windows it’s absolutely beautiful and as a kid I used to try and make pictures out of the designs it makes. Just a little cute footnote😊
The frost on the windows is BEAUTIFUL we agree, so perfect and sparkly 😍
Also please feel free to re comment anytime!
Hi Christy that is a beautiful place up there I just love the atmosphere I can feel it from here.
I just wanted to say that I was very impressed the way you said the sun hasn't even came around here yet.
You sound like someone that really knows the Bible and I stand right there beside you.
Hallelujah for the geocentric model.
Hey Tom! Thank you for the kind words! And thank you for taking a minute to comment!
We do truly feel blessed to be the stewards of this gorgeous property, and plan to honour and preserve its history for as long as we are able.

@@selough9151 thank you! We are very grateful for our warm cabins when it’s that cold outside. It really breaks up the monotony of being stuck inside!
South Dakota, we had serious cold about 60+ below & some of the cattle had so much frozen condensation on their faces they couldn’t see & they could barely breathe. We had to herd some steers into our brick garage which just happened to be empty. It saved them.
Good to see you making the best of the cold weather, thanks for posting.

Great video you 2. The hardest thing is warming up the cabin. We go up to our cabin and it takes a full day to get it all warmed up. Sure like seeing the old cabin. You have a great location for your solar. Putting out good. Maybe there is still hope for the grampa spruce. LOL
That Tundra is like Little Griff Off Grid Alberta workhorse. Those are great sleds.
Hey thanks for the video and you guys are doing a wonderful job. So happy for ya
Glen, just keep on cheering for that Grandpa Spruce!
It was so so wonderful to stay in the cabin. It seems silly we haven’t made it down there more often this year.
Hello from here in Zephyrhills Florida where we will hit 39 degrees today so it’s not very warm here in sunny Florida either. But I’m from upstate NY and have been in -32 degree weather before which is why I now live in Florida lol. But this reminded me of growing up in NY so I just had to subscribe to your channel. I was born and raised in the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York and had no electricity or running water ever so I can sympathize with what you’re going through to get everything up and going or warm enough to run. Lol. I think you two are great. Thanks for sharing your date weekend with all of us
From upstate NY to Florida! That sounds like a dream come true to so many people.
I had asked another Florida subscriber, but no reply yet, is it true that when it gets cold in Florida, iguanas fall from the sky?

Thanks for supporting a fellow creator! See you on the next one ❤️
C&K love the channel. To funny, I put Trophy Wife in one of our videos and the wife poo pooed it. When it started playing in your video we both laughed. FYI, the colder it is the more efficient solar panels are. When designing a system wire size is determined by the coldest average temperature for that region. Panels can produce 120% more than their label. Your cabin is beautiful, love large front porch.
I loved the tune! The funny thing is I didn’t even put any thought into the lyrics 😂
Yes, you’re absolutely correct, the panels pump the power in the cold! It’s about the only thing in this world that works better in the cold haha
Thank you, that front porch adds so much living space to the tiny cabin ❤️
Watching from Clovis, New Mexico. Absolutely a beautiful piece of land and retreat.
Thank you!! Welcome to the channel. The weather is certainly different here now!
Hi from Ohio. About 5 here tonight. First time watching and we enjoyed!

Hello from Sydney Australia. We are in the midst of summer, hot and humid! I cannot imagine -40. Enjoy the cabin stay.
Australia! How amazing that the internet keeps us all connected.
Seeing a kangaroo would be so amazing! So exotic! Australia is such a beautiful warm country. I have a friend who moved there and I love seeing his pictures on social media. Except the giant spiders. That’s scary!
You guys have such an awesome setup there! I love your location. It was -9F this morning here in Green Bay, WI. Hope you enjoyed your stay. Cheers!
Thanks Airman! It was true love when we came across the property back in 2020.
What’s the meaning of your name? Airman, are you an aviator? 🧑✈️
@@OffGridWithChrisandKristie LOL, no. I was an air compressor mechanic for 25 years. I couldn't come up with a better name, I'm not that creative, LOL. We are in the process of looking for some land to build a cabin in northern WI right now. Unfortunately, not much available or too expensive.
@@airman6822 I think it’s a great name, a conversation point at the very least!
Land can be very expensive here as well, we really got lucky with this land. I believe it was meant to be.
A friend of mine has a stove like that one he puts 18” wood in it just chunked up in the round it heats his cabin to 74 deg for three days before he reloads it just a thought beautiful place awesome lady and cook Chris some lucky to have beautiful mate

Sometimes he just puts huge 4’ long logs in. And it burns a long time.
We’ve sealed up a bunch of holes in the walls this year so it’ll be easier to heat.
Thanks for tuning in! And hope to see you in other videos comment sections
Love the footage! From Ontario, Canada. We are used to this weather, but not off grid. Good for you guys!
Yes, Ontario gets some brutal weather! I think the moisture makes it more intense too doesn’t it!
Nope! I’m a southern boy from Louisiana USA. I don’t even think my blood would pump at those temperatures. I do however admire what you two have accomplished.
Haha 😂
That’s too funny. People from the south hate the idea of being cold generally, am I right?!
The very short summer season up here is a real problem sometimes when it comes to accomplishing tasks and having a little fun. We would love to visit your part of the world some day, the climate, the animals, the culture, the food…. All sound so exotic!!

@@OffGridWithChrisandKristie Mountain life is temperamental, we live close to the end of a village but not far enough for me, sort of the Jeremiah Johnson and Grizzly Adams sort, we have ranch property up at 10,000 would prefer there, but tenuous with family, certainly prefer the company of the Deer, Ducks,Elk and a Golden eagle who roosts in the vicinity, couple of years ago my 4 year old at the time, we watched a period dinner prepared in 1820, good ol cast iron and a hearth, with tri pods and swing arms, she was amazed at how versatile that kind of kitchen cooking can do, I still have a Robert shaw gas stove, and a 40's Gibson refrigerator that still works 80 years later, 4 generations. I teach my kid what works, cause in the woods or sticks as it wer, things have to work, btw she loved the snowmobile 🤣
