Not many can play with this kind of virve expressing a sort of prickly assertiveness AND then just melt into an emotive elegance... his playing gets more 'storied' and yet 'intimate' as he ages... love the paradoxes in his music... wonderful...
Yeah, the product of 30 years + intense jazz study and practice. You don't get this good without some serious dedication and focus on the instrument and jazz every day for a LONG time. I've currently hit a brick wall with my learning, I get frustrated at how many tunes there are to learn and how even then when you learn one basically, you'll find the greats can play them 100 x more sophisticated and adventurous with improvization and in different keys too. There's just not enough time in the day to fully learn a transcription and move on to other tunes! I'm sure somebody else here relates to what I've said :-)
yeah! how about disappearing parts of melody and harmony, hilarious! :) very silly and life-like. for example, I remember when my CD-ROM has disappeared and some programs has stopped working for no reason
The most creative living guitar player... no doubts. And seems to be a great person.
This is honestly some of the best guitar playing I've ever heard, I worked out that stunning intro earlier.

Wow, Hans Glawischnig! His father, Dieter, used to lead the NDR Big Band in the early 1980ies, when I finished High School.

I ASSURE YOU DEAR SIR THERE'S NO NEED FOR YELLING!!!!
That intro reminds me a lot of "zhivago"'s intro especially from the recorded album version.
but I can't say who is influenced by whom. Maybe both way.
I'm sure there's push and pull between the two of them.
I've heard Kurt and Jonathan speak about each other and they both hold each other in very high esteem.

cymbals rob too much sound spectrum compete with drown out guitars subtleness
Nice solo , unfortunately the drums set up is too high, so it is half disaster, in my opinion
