- My quartet stretching out on my arrangement of the great Dave Hubbard composition "Devika". It's also a song I played many times (and in many different ways) with the late great Dr. Lonnie Smith, so I decided to start playing it as a tribute to the master musician and my ol' friend. This is an excerpt from a full concert that will be available July 20, 2023 at www.musikisydchannel.se !
Jonathan Kreisberg-Guitar
Marko Churnchetz-Piano
Phil Donkin-Bass
Colin Stranahan-Drums

Managed to catch these guys at the Gran Canaria Jazz Festival. My first time ever going and I had to pick my jaw up off the floor. I was BLOWN AWAY. They were cooking the entire set and probably one of the best gigs I've ever been to in my life. - I especially love the half time turn around thing they do in this track.
Simply world class.
This is one of my favorite kreisberg performances ever. Amazing!
Kreisberg is clearly a pattern master. Super impressive playing.
what a rhythm section!
So happy that Jazz is alive in this form! Amazing musicians! Kreisberg is one of my favourite guitar players!

Listen to the piano solo...great!
This is a nice rendition of "Devika" ( Goddess) but I first heard this played by Lonnie Liston Smith in 1993 with the Cosmic Echoes. Off of the album " Visions Of A New World " . I play this piece often.
love it!
Sorry Jonathan - didn't see you have made Capturing Spirits - JKQ Live!
10:47 Yes!!
What pedal does he use to make that sound?
He's using a few different things, but the core sound comes from an Electro-Harmonix POG 2, I believe.
yeah the POG, similar sound to kurt rosenwinkel if you hear any of his performances!
Does anyone know what DEVIKA is?
excellent music Use more different guitar sounds ;)
It's not jazz guitar's tone.just electric.
No one got that tone, only you....
