When John was in the hole for the riser by the copper-dam, it really gave us a perspective of how deep it was. No wonder the riser is 12ft 4in. I can't recall you ever placing a riser that tall.

All the years I have been following this channel, and I can't remember you ever needed to pile dirt in front of the tracks to stop the machine sliding. Looking at the size of the bucket full you tipped out @ 6:00 that would have taken some force to dig out of the dam. Especially after it had been packed so well with Justin's roller.

The clay packed very well hard as a brick. That's what you need for a good solid dam. I have a pond I wish you could fix. It's full of silt and top of dam is maybe 5 feet wide. It's 30 or 40 feet tall on back side and over grown with pines. It was dug with a d8 and they hit a spring in the bottom and stuck the dozer. It's close to 80 or maybe 100 years old. I was told it was originally 15 feet deep or more and has never gone dry. It's only about 6 or 7 feet now. It's in a valley and banks are very steep. I think it would test your skill for sure. Arkansas is a long way from home. Great work as always.
