Can this be ran dry to flush out all water before adding paint? or are you supposed to just get as much water out of the hopper as you can when you're ready to paint again, and then add your paint and hope it doesn't mix with too much water when priming everything?
@joseph7105 you dont need to run it dry. Either tip the water out the hopper or prime it out. As soon as you see it gone in the hopper add the paint. Then prime it for like 5 seconds to cycle the water out and make sure thetes not air in there. The. Flick into spray and blow the water out the hose until you see paint and youre ready to go
Thanks. I always recommend keeping it all connected. That way nothing gets a chance to dry out internally. Such as paint in the hose which could flake off later fown the line. Best to keep in all connected and wet
Thanks for that. I've flushed mine through plenty but haven't unscrewed anything for ages so must get in there and do the filters. And I've never been into the ball bearing since buying it in 2018! Didn't even know it was in there.
Haha if you clean it well its not ways necessary, but its good to know where things are and any potential blockage areas. The ball bearing has that button to release it, if it doesnt work thats what you undo it all. Also good to have a proper clean for maintenance really. The new pumps are cheap and a quick change. I'll do a video soon on that one
I always keep it with fluid in. This helps prevent inside from drying out. Also stops paint drying on the lining in the hose so would stop flaking paint coming through. Add a splash of graco pump armour or somethinv like that. It helps prevent rusting and freezing and also keeps it lubed inside
Ok I use gracco armoir with water but I was thinking about removing all the water out but I was not sure, but you say it’s better to have it with liquid
Hi mate, just wondering. The spring near the ball-bearing on mine has came out. I don't know if it mounts ontop of the ball or the side. Struggling to fix it in place. Any idea?
If i remember when you unscrew it. The ball falls out then the spring behind it and the plastic cage behind that. Take a look at the manual for a blown up diagram if you get stuck
@sprayaholic thanks for your reply mate. I've managed to sort it. The spring fits on small metal prong, then the bearing rests up against that. Without the spring in position I was getting leaks from the pump whilst priming. The spring stops it.
Firstly what size tip are you using? I take it out because in my opinion its that small it can just case issues. If it blocks then thr machine will stop and it will be messy to get it out and clean. If you filter your paint into the hopper that helps dramatically. Can crap or lumps in the paint will travel to the gun, if that filter is clogged clean it. Smaller tips will block more as the hole is smaller to shoot through
Good question. But no. Just in prime so you only use a small amount each time. Although yes you can run it through the hose especially of youre in areas Subject to freezing as it helps prevent freezing
You could do and i know alot who use it for that. Depends on the paint, 208, 308, 210 310. Some guys use the .06 like 206. Or even 311 sizes. You can load a lot of paint on so be careful
You dont need to.strip it like mine. This was a more thorough clean. Just rinse the hopper a few times and then milky water in the line is absolutely fine.
@@sprayaholic could do with some of your expert advice or tips. used my gx21ff toady on Bannisters was using auqa undetcoat got a few runs on the first coat second was much better. Gonna be spraying aqua guard tomorrow. I have a 310 ,210. 110 graco ffllp. Want to avoid runs if possible. Cheers
@@richardloze5994 its on my to do list aswell as a starter airless video. I mainly use 110 for spindles. If you have runs, youre either, too close, or not moving fast enough. I dont think they come with them fitted now. May be mistaken though. No i dont use it. Its too small and gets clogged easily, which can then just jam the machine up, meaning it gets messy when trying to access it to clean. As its not as accessible as other machines. It can strip the blue off of it. If been using waterbased paint. Just leave it in hot water and try a tooth brush on jt. It should come clean. Or virasol for a short period i wouldnt leave it long its stripped the hvlp finish colours on the fuji caps too
@@sprayaholic I thought it might do that. It's cleaned hard aqua gloss brushes 4 days later back to new. Amazing stuff. I'm the same, only use waterbased so I'll try the soak it warm water trick first. 👍🏻
@Daniel Woolcock well spray some or soak it for like an hour and then hot soapy water should get it off. I use gun wash alot as come straight off then rinse in soapy water after
So helpful! Thanks for making this. Spraying feels like a dark art - no nonsense videos are a lifesaver.

Would having a partially blocked tiny manifold filter cause the tip to constantly clog? Why do you run without ine?

Do you have to oil the pump and if so how often. I’ve not seen any mention of this on gx21 units.
theyre ment to be self lubed pistons in a sealed unit. so generally theyll be fine.. ive never oiled mine and its maybe 5 year old now
Hi, sorry to bother you, there's Geaco GX21 for sale near me at what i think is a good price, question is, are they any good ? Many thanks.
Hey. Yes its the same motor as the gxff. A new pump costs around 100 pounds so cheal repair you can do yourself
So is £450 a good price, its only sprayed 50ltrs of paint since he bought it a year ago, it does look like new

Is it safe to soak the compact gun in virasol for a while to get all the paint and overspray off. Just so you can make out what it looks like again 🤣
