  • Data may help settle debate on the role Lp(a) to guide clinical decision-making. CSWN talks with Sotirios Tsimikas, MD,
of the Vascular Medicine program at the University of California San Diego, about Lp(a) and CVD risk. This interview was conducted at ESC 2014.

CRP is a marker for inflammation. It barely can be categorized as a root cause for CVD.
Lpa has an important role in wound healing, and 8-10 days after a surgery you can see an up-regulation of up to 4x !
Of course it gets elevated if plaques rupture and platelets get activated... To categorize it as a root cause for CVD is absolutely ridiculous.
The correct questions are: what causes the inflammation of the endothelium and the artery wall? ... and :NO it is NOT because total C is high... gosh that is outdated like hell... but what to expect by someone who still believes the lies constructed by the F-study... And the second question is, why are there lesions of the vessels and too much activated platelet in the first place? The answer in both cases is oxidation. Oxidation by what? Glucose under the condition of a lack of glutathione .
The maching diet: >50% Carbs, >40% of the fats saturated, >5% omega6-6, too much protein, and deficiency in B-vitamins. Additional poor microbiom and after 10..20y you find what you want to find. Those are the root causes.
True, there is a genetic factor for Lpa. And? the role of Lpa is what? prevent a clot from dissolving in wound healing.
If you don't have plaques, or vessel damage, woh cares about LPa?
It is even just the other way round: if you do not have enough Lpa, the changes to die from cancer increase.
Wow, keep being proud for FIFTEEN years of followup, nice data, perhaps, mindlessly analyzed

    • @RHt09
      @RHt09 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Nothing you've said is correct. What an embarassing analysis. The role of Lpa isn't preventing a clot from dissolving. Low levels of Lpa don't related to cancer mortality. The role of Lp(a) is directly in atherosclerosis. It is a highly atherogenic particle. hsCRP is a marker for higher risk of CAD per the Jupiter trial. The multiple studies he cites showing a causal relationship between high Lp(a) and MACE events were not measured in teh setting of acute plaque rupture. Why are you even babbling on about that?

These studies are flawed. No measure of sugar intake or inflammation. Without sugar and inflammation, maybe there is no CVD risk. LDL isn't the risk.

A sub particle of LDL called Lp-a is what initiates plaque build-up and your level of it is considered an independent risk factor.
Two people with identical cholesterol levels but the one well over 30mg/dl can be 2-3 times greater risk. Glad I got mine checked I'm at 20mg/dl.

Talking down? He didn't talk it down. He said studies have clearly not shown niacin to be helpful in CAD event reduction but these studies were not done in people with high Lp(a) so we can't exclude it as a therapeutic. Learn to less more and talk less.

Try taking higher level vitamin C supplementation. Bare minimum, 1,000mg (1 gram) per day. But shoot for somewhere between 2,500mg - 4,000mg per day. Sodium ascorbate, not calcium ascorbate. Take 1/2 in the morning and 1/2 at night. Do this every day. Don’t miss any days. Do this for 6 months to a year and recheck your Lp(a) levels. Take a CoQ supplement every day too. Keep taking the naicin as well.

Also stop eating seed oils! All of them. No canola oils. They may damage the artery lining due to oxidation and inflammation.

Hi. I'm 61 years old and have inherited high LP(a) Doctor told me I'm at high risk, but there was noting to do about it. Nine years ago it was 403mg/l. I consider my self quite healthy, not smoking, but but a bit obese in later years, but got down to slim this year. Last check this summer (after loss of weight 96 - 70 kg) it was the same at 400mg/l. I had a scan last week which show litle to no plaque in my arteries. Doc told me my cardio age was 34-39 years and that only 3% persons at my age had better score. That was quite surprising. Maybe there is a lot of people having high cholesterol/Lp(a) without plaque/cardio deceases like me? Would be interesting to know. Is healthy metabolic condition, not beeing inflamed or prediabetic/diabetic (despite my overweight i later years) , the reason I'm still fine? I will not take any drug to reduce my LP(a).
