To people that have rashes from this mixture: What I have realized is its from the baking soda. I found an amount that works for me pretty well though WITHOUT a rash and this is it:
1 tbsp - half coconut oil, half shea butter (you can use only coconut oil if you want) - smells nice, moisturizes, and is anti microbial.
1/2 tbsp - arrowroot powder - this keeps you dry
1/4 tsp - baking soda - this deodorizes the smell

My experience has showed me it is usually better to use less baking soda, as I find it irritating on my skin. I usually go for a mix of shea butter and coconut oil. Shea butter makes it creamier and more spreadable. I then add arrowroot and a little bentonite clay, enough so the mixture solidifies. Baking soda is typically be half a teaspoon at the very end.

I used only coconut oil and baking soda. It worked perfectly and better than the market bought deodorant.
The only issue is that if you sweat a lot outside then you may take an extra t-shirt or shirt so that you can change your t-shirt after sweating a lot because there is no deodorant on the t-shirt and after a while the t-shirt starts to smell like sweat because of the bacteria on the t-shirt.

Yes. Additional its better to have tea trea oil. I personally have a small bottle of water (u know those empty plastic drinking bottle?) i fill it with water, add 3 to 4 drops of tea tree oil. And dissolve. Then after shower first i apply some lemon juice, leave it for few mins, rinse. Then apply this water we made little bit in both underarms. After it's dried, apply this deodorant and tadaaa.

This really works very well. I have been using it for a long time it even brightens the area also you can sweat but it's odorless. Finally I was worried that the oil will cause greasiness but it didn't, maybe the baking soda put it off.

I have used this and it worked greatly for about 2 years. But now it works for only a little time then I'm smelly again and maybe i have to apply it every 6 hours when i applied it once for 3 days
I used to use 2 tablespoon of each
What's the solution😢 i have now doubled coconut oil amount because i thought maybe the reason is that the paste is alittle dry so it flakes
I live in a very hot environment in summer

Try adding the amount of coconut oil and arrowroot the recipe calls for but increase the amount of baking soda. So if before you added 1 teaspoon of baking soda, try adding 1 1/2 to 2 teaspoons. Let me know how it goes.

I use just baking soda and coconut oil as a body scrub because I'm trying to eliminate the use of soap completely. I'm just realizing the reason my arm doesn't smell as I only apply deodorant if I have to leave the house. Baking soda plus coconut oil

I do have to reapply, but most deodorants that I’ve used in the past we’re the same. I’ve tried even using just a 1/4 teaspoon baking soda and it still irritates my skin, so I can’t add it.
