    Congrats on the giveaway! So lovely that you get to spread the joy :) I won't enter since someone else might need them more but just wanted to say I'm loving your videos, you have such a fab channel and I'm always happy to see a new upload.

    I love using the night version when out and about because they're even a bit more quiet than the normal version. Still not muffled and perfectly clear!

    These seem amazing. I find my office environment a bit busy a noisy and going to shops these could be of a great help! I'd love to be counted in on this giveaway, thanks!

    Hey there! Could you tell if the regular Calmer or Calmer Pros are better for not distorting the sound of your own voice while you're speaking when you have them in?

    Finally got a pair of Calmers. I had seen ads and was skeptical about them but I finally tried them and I'm pretty impressed to put it mildly; I have enough acoustics knowledge to articulate everything they're doing, and I actually think Flare does a pretty poor job of describing how they work. Actually leads to an unearned impression of snake oil hokum and if they explained it better I'd have bought them sooner.
    They're operating on a few different levels; first of all they're dampening sound reflections internal to the ear canal; making the inside of the ear closer to being an anechoic chamber. Secondly, it's acting as a waveguide bypassing the external anatomy of the ear so it acts less like an acoustic collecting dish. Third, it's making your hearing more directional, reducing the amount of reverberated sound coming in.
    The net effect is like dialing down the gain on the signal coming into your ears. As soon as I listened to them and it clicked that they were turning down the gain inside my ear canal, I broke into the biggest grin imaginable. These things are genius.

    These would be an absolute life saver! My issues with noise and background noise are what I seem to struggle with the most 😩
    Edit: this is my entry for the giveaway (to be more explicit)

    Hello ! Hopefully this comment doesnt get lost as i know this has two years .. i have the calmer mini for 2 days and it is making a huge difference for me (I have ADHD and noise sensitivity .. work as a PT and all the metal is driving me crazy lol ) . How was the ear adaptation to the pro ? Do you always feel they are "there" ? I ask this because yesterday the only downside for me was that i was feeling them (i have really small earcanals) , today is better. I would invest in this model if it was better but only if my brain could eventually forget about them. What has been your experience after all this time? Thank you ! (P.S. Love your accent ! )

      I’m quite good at just not noticing them at this point, and I’m no expert, but I think I’d you’re able to feel the minis all the time you’d run the risk of others not fitting well or being able to feel them more. I have a more recent video about Loops vs calmer, and although I prefer the calmers for what they actually do, Loop come with a lot of different sized attachments for the parts that go in your ears, so you may be able to find a more comfortable fit though them!

      @@DanaAndersen Thank you for such quick reply ! Actually i already saw that video when i was looking for reviews on Loops. I got one and to be honest i dont like them because for me its the same effect as having earphones and even with the samallest tip , i can feel them .. Flare has been so much better ! I would only rist buying another Mini and never the regular size :) I am now trying to decide if i go for the mini pro or mini night , i am terrible at decisions ! ehehe Overthinking here for sure

    Omg I never win anything but I would LOVE to win these. I've got the regular Calmer (autistic) and they help me so much! I saw the Pro being advertised and really really want to give them a go but can't afford them 😭 Maybe Santa could bring them for me...

    How long did your ear take to get used to them? i am curious now, i think it will definitely help me to declutter my mind and focus easily as i find to difficult to focus with too many sounds around me. Sign me up for the giveaway too

      I was so relieved to be free from all the annoying buzzing sounds I usually hear, I think I was fully comfortable with them within about 4 hours! It does vary greatly from person to person though, and Flare recommend using them as much as possible in the first 24 hours 😁

    What a great product. I'll have to look into them myself. Can't enter the giveaway because I live Down Under.
    I love the discretion of the in-ear buds but I worry if they are truly one size fits all? I have itty bitty ear holes and have always struggled with fit.
    I've been on my own journey, learning to be autistic and recently I've been looking into noise-cancelling headphones. I have been concerned about how it may affect my cptsd as I need to be aware of my surroundings or I react like a startled deer (or cat depending on the situation lol) but I don't have anyone to ask these silly questions to.

    • @DanaAndersen

      I think the pro are currently one size, but I know the originals also have a smaller ‘mini’ size to provide a better fit for those with small ear canals! I wanted to try out some noise cancelling headphones, but quickly realised from earplugs I can’t stand not being able to hear what’s happening around me. Turning round to an open mouthed cat an inch from your face is one hell of a silent jump scare 😂

      I've been using some ANC headphones for a couple of months now, they're quite effective in a lot of situations, but I was quite disappointed with their (lack of) ability to filter out some noises that really bother me, especially engines and such - might still be worth a try, I love them for when I'm trying to focus at home

  • @friesnmayo

    If i understood it correctly , they filter sound and not block it right? more like make the sound more tolerable ! if that's the case i would love to get them for myself too, i would love to be entered into the giveaway.

    • @DanaAndersen
      @DanaAndersen  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly! There’s lots of sciencey frequency stuff to it, but they basically filter out the annoying frequencies, so even the most annoying sounds are more tolerable, while you can still hear everything you want to! Thanks for entering 😁

    i always wanted to buy myself a pair of these , is there a lot of difference between the calmer pro and the orignal one ? Thankyou for the giveaway, kindly enter me .

    • @DanaAndersen
      @DanaAndersen  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I find the difference while wearing them rather minimal, mostly a better fit and slightly more filtering, for example with the originals I can still hear my fridge making noises, but it’s not so annoying and noticeable, whereas with the pro I don’t notice it at all. I more so notice when I take them out, when I remove the originals it’s really easy to readjust, where as after removing the pro everything seems louder and more overwhelming for about 20 mins.

    This seems interesting , we have this huge building ventilation duct which makes white noise continuously during the day,, i think this will help me with it. Sign me up too please.
