If you made a football of blackheads from lonely teenagers and threw it 467 miles and it was caught by a woman who still had glass in her head from a car accident where her husband was killed you then would have some concept of these songs Mr. Tapsitip. Where so you live

No this is the OTHER Dogs, the awesome Proto - Punk band residing from Des Moines, Iowa formed circa 1973 to 1977.
The amazing Motor City rockin’, “face - slashing” Dogs power trio 3 piece band (featuring Loren Molinare -vocals / guitar, Mary Kay - bass / backing vocals, & Ron Wood (Not THAT Ron Wood) drums) were originally from Lansing, Michigan formed in 1968-1969. The Dogs then moved to Detroit Rock City in 1973 followed by New York City (Max’s / CBGB scene) in 1974 followed by Los Angeles, CA in 1976 (Masque Punk club) early West Coast punk rock days.
The Dogs sporadically recorded demos & live recordings in the late 60’s - early 70’s but didn’t release an official record until their ‘76 studio recordings, the self released “John Rock” b / w “Younger Point Of View” debut 7” Single (Dynamic Recording 1976).
Followed by their infamous & killer “Slash Your Face b / w “Fed Up” & “Are You A Boy Or Are You A Girl? (The Barbarians) 7” EP (Detroit Records 1978) taken from a professional 24 track live recording from the San Francisco Punk club, Mabuhay Gardens produced by Jimmy Robinson (Detective, Paris).
The Dogs supported the “Slash Your Face” 2nd 7” EP self release with a tour of Britain & Ireland in 1978 & after the tours stayed on in London for a year or so where their record label pulled out of their record deal at the 11th hour forcing them to move back to the United States in 1980 but went on hiatus in 1981. The Dogs reformed in 1983 with a new drummer Tony Matteucci in Los Angeles playing local gigs & recording but went on hiatus again in 1989 when Molinare joined the hard rock band Little Caesar signed to Geffen Records.
Interest in the band revived following the inclusion of their songs on the “Killed By Death” compilation series, with their records subsequently becoming collectors’ items.
The long overdue “Fed Up!” compilation was released on Bacchus Archives in 2000. The band reformed and new material followed on Dionysus Records in 2003 in the form of debut album proper, “Suburban Nightmare”.
The Dogs toured the Far East in 2007 and 2013 in support of a series of releases on Japanese label Future Now Records, beginning with double CD tribute “Doggy Style: The Dogs Tribute” featuring covers of Dogs tracks by local groups and notable garage punks as well as 3 unreleased Dogs tracks featuring the “John Rock” 7” Single studio outtake, “L.A. Times” recorded in 1976 and “John Rock ‘N’ Roll Sinclair” & “Motor City Fever” both recorded live @ “Wonder Hall /Michigan State University in 1971.
“Doggy Licks: The Dogs Unreleased” CD / DVD & “Doggy Days: The Dogs Live L.A. To Tokyo” double DVD are also available via Pacifiction Records.
The band played SXSW festival in 2009 and 2014 and NXNE festival in 2009. 2nd album proper, “Hypersensitive” was self-released in 2012, a new EP “Ain’t Going Nowhere” in 2016, & the classic “Slash Your Face” 7” EP was reissued in Almost Ready Records in 2017.
Completing The Dogs discography is the
      “Tough Enough” b / w “John Rock” 7” Single “Brain Transplant 1998)
      &
      “Class Of 1970” b / w “Rebel Rock” 7” Single (Dionysus 2001).
The Proto - Punk “Detroit” Dogs opened for just all the classic bands including The Amboy Dukes w / Ted Nugent, MC5, Iggy Pop & The Stooges in Detroit (circa late 60’s / early 70’s)
KISS, The Dictators, The Stilettos (pre Blondie), Television in New York City circa mid 70’s)
AC/DC, The Scorpions, Van Halen, The Ramones, The Motels in Los Angeles (circa late 70’s) along with Guns ‘N’ Roses in the mid to late 80’s.
Henry Rollins in his segue from Black Flag frontman to solo artist to DJ to media personality name-checked The Dogs out loud, and Spin Magazine listed their "Slash Your Face" single as one of the Top 10 great punk rock songs of all time.
