Sad to say. like David Bowie said "never the originator , always the imitator ". and Your band is rockin as fuck!!

I remember this band - The Punks from when i was 16. I really loved it back then & still do. Here in Australia we used to have some good bands as well. Garage bands paved the way through that crappy Disco scene then to every genre of music. Heavy Metal/ Thrash. History will repeat itself, now & in the future. From an Original Punk.
Then, what you saying is, the Punks rode a time machine into the future and while they were there they thought let's steal a CJ riff, no one will notice, cos were from the past. Interesting.

Thanks Ian Jackson for bringing this band back in the foreground, I see by the reaction that many of us hard core punk rockers are kind of sad that we never heard about them before, awesome group and deserved better! Great album! Sad that Alan's brother Craig the original drummer of The Punks died in 2011.
1973? Let’s see... what was popular that year? The radio was filled with soft rock garbage like “Killing Me Softly” and “Tie a Yellow Ribbon”. The heaviest it got (on the radio) was “We’re an American Band” by another Michigan band - Grand Funk Railroad. This must have blown a few eardrums at the time.
How have I never heard of this band before? Great stuff, I have never heard anything that even rivals The Stooges but these guys are like the first 3 Stooges albums combined. And from Waterford. I'm from Fenton. Weird.
