I lived in Newfoundland (St. John's) for a summer, some decades ago. It is literally a magical place, with the most wonderful, kind, and downright funny people you will ever come across. I have a sustained love for the province and its welcoming culture. You'll never really understand this unless you go there. Take it from a fellow from "up along". Love ya, Newfoundland.

You should try salmon fishing this summer. What a rush when you hook one on a fly

Good call! Where should I go? I always think of central for salmon fishing but not really sure where to go specifically

As someone who is familiar with "the rock" and considering moving there I really appreciate your thoughtful video essays on NL. You have an authentic, honest presence and you clearly think your videos through before putting them out there. Subbed!
However, I find it hard to watch more than one at a time because of the choppy, jumpy, bumpy editing and the too prominent background music. No need to remove any singly pause; give it some air 🙂 Just my two bits...

Thank you for watching, thank you for subbing, and thank you for the feedback. I'm still fairly new at all of this and still figuring out what works best and how to put these videos together. I have received feedback about the music in the past and I tend to keep the levels much lower now (with videos created more recently than this one for sure). The editing style is definitely a work in progress too, I'm learning as I go and I'm always trying out different things. I hope you continue to watch and I'll try to continue to improve. I really appreciate you!

How is the internet speed there in Newfoundland, Mark?

I'm not sure about the actual numbers but in the St. John's area it seems to be as fast and reliable as anywhere else in Canada. When I'm travelling around the province I never have issues when I get to wherever I'm going but I still lose service on the road in between destinations sometimes 👍

There’s a healthy and growing industry in St. John’s actually. It’s a pretty exciting time right now with a bunch of companies making really big news over the past year or so.
