    Having trouble finding the fuel pump 40 amp relay "JD191E2-12V" any suggestions?

    Been running a Walbro GSL 392 fuel pump for 4 yrs now on my 2002 7.3 and it’s been no issues. $90 online (make sure it’s Walbro or A1 brand, a lot of knock offs out there) and it bumps the fuel pressure up a bit which seems to make a big difference with stock injectors.

    I changed the lift pump as you suggested but for some reason after a while in idle it trips the relay. I swapped the relay with the fan relay and fires right up and runs untill it trios it again. What am I missing? Really need your input please.

    If anyone has to cut the old pump bracket off due to rust DONT BUY THE $600 FORD PUMP, I found a solution where you can use two 2” diameter rubber insulated tube retainers / pipe clamps to hold the pump in place, you just need the aftermarket pump mentioned, the clamps and two sets of 3” long 1/2” bolts washers and nuts and you just run the long bolts through the two lower holes that the original pump studs went through. This is a permanent solution and has been working on my dads pickup for over 5 years now. Hopefully somebody finds this helpful.

    Again ! Thank you so much for what you do for all of us die-hard 7.3 owners. and thanks for the fuel pump numbers. I'm getting a extra one just to carry. I have done all the fuel thing you have shown. Bill please keep it up for all of us. We are 78 years old and still going boon docking around northern Nevada. Our 2000 F-350 4 door 4 wheel drive dually with a flat bed, it carries a 4,700lbs Lance camper (31 years old) and we tow a 20 ft enclsed trailer. We love you Bill.

    I have a problem with my 2004 6.0. I was hoping you may have a suggestion to fix. Every so often it won’t start just long crank. I can vigorously wiggle the wiring harness under the air cleaner and it starts right up. Any help would be appreciated. Love your channel by the way. Thank you

    Bosch 69136. I replaced mine with an aem 50-1005 at 270k miles. More flow, good to 450+ hp. Longevity? Don't know, two years and 20k miles so far! Rock solid pressure, with high flow, even on the biggest tunes!

    I'm convinced that I lost an injector on my '99.5 7.3 years ago due to fuel starvation. I had installed an Air dog system on the truck when I bought it in 2005. Sometime in the future, the AirDog power relay quit working but the fuel pump was able to suck some fuel thru the AirDog unit. Just driving to work I never noticed it but one weekend I was pulling my 2500lb trailer, empty, on a 4hr trip that included a very long (several miles), steep uphill grade. About 3/4 of the way up the hill one injector blew and left me stranded. I then noticed that the AirDog was not running and traced the problem to the non functioning relay.

    Denso is another good trusted name in fuel pumps. I would definitely stay away from airtex and any of the cheaper brands.

    New to diesel. I know the big 18 wheelers run the engines and don't shut them off on just to restart it. I noticed when you we're fueling you left the engine running. When I get fuel I shut it off. When I go through a drive through they say they can't hear me so I shut it off.....should I not be shutting it off so often? Love your vids keep them coming.

    • @tristen8089
      @tristen8089 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In my operating manual for my 7.3 it says do not leave the engine idling any longer then 10 minutes. Check out a video by adept ape titled how long should you idle a diesel engine. It will explain better on whether you should idle your diesel or not.

    • @bryandepiazzy8679
      @bryandepiazzy8679 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      18 wheels leave engines running for several reasons. When there sleeping they have A/C or heat depending on where they are. The trucks use air brakes and keeping the tanks full takes less time to restart the trucks and build up air again. Also if it’s cold out you don’t want moisture in the brakes freezing and locking the brakes on.

    Are there any decent aftermarket pumps that you’d recommend? Not talking about house brand parts store items or trying to be cheap etc..., but possibly higher performance pump that would flow more fuel than a factory part to absolutely avoid any fuel issues at high constant load...?

    Love the 7.3 videos!!! 377k on my 2000 f350 that was parked for 11 years. Sometimes when hauling 7k lbs on the highway and hitting hills she feels so gutless. I wonder if since it was parked for 11 years the screens in the tank are clogged!! Definitely something I need to check.. watching in Memphis Tennessee!!

    will a fuel pressure gauge help identify any issues with a bad filter and/or pump?

    • @martens4709
      @martens4709 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it will if you don't have enough fuel pressure you will know there's a problem it could be things other then just the filter or pump there's other things like the fuel pressure regulator. Pressure should be I think 50 to 68 psi under load not idle

    Does anyone know if the E series have the screens in the sending unit? I have an extended 2002 , 7.3L with a midship tank and it does seem to be getting to be a bit sluggish on take offs. Pictures ive seen of the sending unit look like they may not have the screens in it so just wondering if dropping the tank to clean or replace parts in the sending unit would be a waste if there are no screens in the E series units.
