You get rune bags from things as simple as world bosses/conflict bosses. I think hard grinding is the issue. You burn yourself out with needing to be max level within a week
yeah i aggree to what you said , grinding dungeon over and over again is annoying and tiring most people will quit that shit , they should put more option to get the runes, like giving reward for joining dominion,world bosses, war games,
We need more runes from other events in game. They should make the trial just the boss fight and skip the mobs and mini bosses and at least let us open the chest with tokens at the end and knock out two birds with one stone
I like this idea the most! I enjoy the concept of taking existing dungeons, putting in a rotation and adding new mechanics/difficulty to them. But you're right.. slugging through the whole thing is exhausting.
Agreed, there's no way as a solo player to do these realistically. I get tnl is a mmo where grouping is a big thing. But at least having an option for those more solo-ish players.
Hard agree. I don't mind hardcore PvE content, but as a competitive player I really hate how nowadays I spend most of my playtime grinding the same dungeons non stop while barely PvPing... to stay competitive in PvP. Between abyss points, 1 star dungeon points, 2 star dungeon points, resistance contracts AND rune grind, I'm starting to get the BDO feel of you spend 90% of your time doing PvE chores so you can have fun in the 10% of the time you're PvPing.
Yea idk PvP is quite boring as well as far as large scale combat is concerned your literally a bot just listening to one shot caller now the arenas r a decent time for sure
They came out with a perfect system in Aion 15 years ago and decided to ditch that for no fing reason. You could farm all you need as a pvp player just by playing pvp content and pvpve content.. Not sure why , as pvp players, we are forced to PVE. If I want a good PVE, I can go ff14 or Elden Ring or poe 2 .. This is supposed to be a PvP MMO.
Runes made me quit the game. Grinding your Dimensional Tokens, Abyssal Tokens, doing core time with your guild (Bosses etc.) is already a lot to do. No way im farming 4 hrs+ a day for runes just to keep up with all the unemployed tryhards...
Same here..I ended up finding out most people in my guild are losers with no job..I had to leave because I could not keep up. Most of them lived at there parents too lol
jjust dont give a fuck bro...im f2p 3450 in 300 hours...with these new shit they made i will be like 3600+...for me its a very good point to be honest even though i can see the difference when i play with some unemployed tryhard but even then i just take my defeat and whatever....
In my opinion it was NOT necessary to release runes ALREADY! We just got 2 Star dungeons and ppl were still working on their gear and now they release Trials too. Oh and tomorrow we get the Xmas Event too so MORE grind AGAIN? God im burned out and I already turned my activity back by a LOT enjoying other games atm.
@@DeadbeatToji i think you didn't understand what i said. rune synergies are great for upscaling damage/resistance and having a better time in dungeon and pvp. never said any gear replacement, its dumb to say that when the runes are part of the gear progression xd

yup, the only fun thing is trying harder levels once with your friends. But with randoms? no. And once you master it, it gets boring. So many players quit in the last week because they are burned out. What I would do: reduce the rune trials to just the bosses. The pre-mobs are just a waste of time, not challenging, just annoying. Also, either give a lower amount of runes to normal 1/2-star dungeons to give them a chance at progressing, or give the loot from 1/2 star dungeons in the rune trials as well. Grinding 4500+4500+rune trials+contracts just seems excessive.

Why waste time and actual real money in a game that doesn't respect your time and money when you an play a superior game that does? I enjoy T&L when it first came out - and then they release the 2 star dungeons. The queue dodgers completely ruined the game for me. Couldn't even complete runs because of them constantly joining and leaving and so on. And then you had undergeared mouth breathers who couldn't follow simple mechanics join with their blue weapons (you should have a purple weapon by the tie you hit two star) and the runs would just die. This isn't fun, What should take 20 minutes is taking an hour to complete and for very little in return. No one wants that. NC Soft needs to rethink their PvE content and redo a lot of it if they want to maintain a player base. Cause it's dying off quickly.

Just because there is one thing that is excessive, doesn't mean it's dying - why is modern day online discussions always this black and white? If you don't like it, dont play it. You can't like multiple games, why is it all about team A or team B? I for example don't like POE2, for me it's a diablo remake - and from many people that quit, NONE of the people I know quit because of POE2 - ZERO. Instead of following all T&L videos and commenting over and over how it sucks and how everything else is better, why don't you go and play said game and stop pulling things out of your bottom? Just because you like something else more, doesnt mean everyone else does. That's the difference between subjective and objective.
I swear from t3 on playing those dungeons with randoms is close to impossible on eu servers... The people are just not able to keep up to the mechanics properly theres always 2 people fucking up minimum
I agree. - Change weeklies to = any dungeon = runes for completion - allow runes to drop from Open World / Resistance Contracts - allow alternate "rune" pouch vs. "blessing" pouch as reward (when refreshing) - allow auto transmute for runes based on type, stat, and rarity. - add to treasure goblins as chaos rune low low chance. - add additional rune drop to mystic portals - Add them to dynamic events and make them part of the scaling personal rewards... (Perforamce based). And now your runes will progressively get stronger as you play.. If you grind the dungeon it can go quicker. Provide rune type and category selection chest... Especially of you rock the dungeon ranks... Anyways. They can make runes fun and exciting And forcing players down this path (Even though we've asked for PVE) isn't really the answer.
@@ajjames1960 nah the guy is cooking . it would be good for alt that you dont want to grind trials so you can passively farm rune. its kinda tiring to farm trials if both your character are high cps . it burnts you out so fast with all the dailies that you need to do plus PVPS

What I enjoyed about TL was its relaxed pacing, with various activities offering a little bit of everything. You could easily spend an entire day in the game without even noticing (especially on weekends). And then sweat it out in some PvP event. But everything changed drastically with the introduction of runes - it all became about this endless grind, especially with so many complex mechanics. Honestly, it feels like they’re about to add these dungeons as an official Olympic sport! However, with these rune dungeons, after just two days, I couldn’t even bring myself to complete the weekly quests for them. I feel complete aversion to this content. On my server, there are already players with Level 40+ blue runes who spend entire days grinding these dungeons. In our guild, we even canceled PvP events so that people could focus on farming runes as much as possible. But I just can’t make myself do it. After an hour of struggling through a new dungeon level, I’d rather do literally anything else than play. I understand that some players enjoy this update, but there are also many who desperately want to avoid this content - and there’s absolutely no way to opt out. In the end, I left my party so I wouldn’t drag them down with my negativity and even quit the guild. I don’t believe Amazon will find a quick solution for this. At best, they might add three random rune chests that you can buy with some sort of points, but for people who farm runes all day long, that’s a joke. For me, the game is pretty much over. I don’t think I’ll ever want to return to these dungeons. Just the thought of it makes me nauseous.

@ it’s part of the game. Doesn’t mean that makes it a “pvp” game. When every other activity is PvE and pvp isn’t even active all the time. It’s a game with pve and pvp.
Men I never did trial dungeons in Korea, and here in global I only did it once it’s sooo boring. They should add runes to open world dungeons with a small amount of % of getting runes
True. As a guild leader I noticed the drop in activity a few days after the runes dropped - and no, it wasn't due to POE2. As soon as people realize the insane grind that it's needed for runes, they said "yeah my build is done, screw the runes, I'll be logging in for guild raids and riftstone pvp". We had an average of 30 online for peak times unt last week, we're 15 nowadays.
Yep. People forget games are for fun. People will go to the game that will give them more fun for the same time. Many players are working and can’t spend 8hrs a day grinding.
They should let you open a chest at the end of a trial with the dungeon tokens. If I complete a trial (harder than a normal 2* dungeon) let me spend my tokens to open a chest for that dungeon as well as give me runes. This would help a ton.
I have not yet tried the trials because I really don't enjoy grind and I don't like to do dungeons. When I do two a day I already feel tired of it :D but I thought this is already a thing. I really thought you get the chest and runes. Knowing I don't even get a chest makes me really stay out of there.
Add runes reward also for arena would be good. Aside the 9 coins there is nothing. Don't get me wrong, I love arenas but in MMOs like Gw2 I didn't have to worry about gearing. Here I barely have time for arenas because I need to gear up to compete so having some rewards wouldn't be bad. Don't wanna spend 90% of the time to farm for enjoying the remaining 10%.
3 1 star dungeon with random, 2 2 star dungeon with random, 10 quest, field dungeon, 9 arena wins, Mystic portal with broken map. And now 2 or 3 trials everyday for weekly. They keep adding more and more chores for players.
We have had some guilds actually disband and leave the game based on the Rune system. They didn't want to go through the tedious rune grind to stay competitive in PVP. I don't mind it personally if they can make it more fun, but i understand why others will refuse to bother.
1 star, 2 star, open dungeons, events, field bosses, guild bosses, archebosses, boonstone, riftstone, regular contracts, arenas, and now trial dungeons, this is insane I have 0 time to do runes because there is a million other things to do oh and starting tomorrow 2 archebosses a day and seasonal event shit. If I'm not on the game 24 hours a day I cant stay viable its awful.
I hope they also give us an option to spend 2x or 3x dimensional tokens in just 1 run,obviously that means also 2x or 3x the reward, it would give us more time to do more stuff and not get drained.
True. While I am in an active guild and have the chance to almost always farm with a fixed team, this content is basically unplayable with randoms, thus destroying smaller guilds, which will be the end of the game.

For example, was telling them after guild bosses that I’m about to rub trial and ask anyone wanted to go. They all said they want to. We didn’t have a wand. It’s all 3 bow/dagger, a spear dagger, a spear/sns, and myself. I said we need a healer. One of the bow/daggers said I can flashwave. I told em we can try but it will be difficult then one of the other bow got butthurt and twisted my words complaining that “you shouldn’t call your teammates useless”. Like??? We’re about to run what basically is a T2 boss with INCREASED STATS and buggy mechanics and you wanna run without a wand and waste time???? Then their clique left the pt so I ran with randos
The burn out, in my opinion, comes from the weekly reward which strongly incentivize to do 15 of those every week (on top of to all your other dailies and weeklies) or lose a stupid amount of character progression (150 rune chests). The second source of burn out would be, still imo, the fast dungeons weekly rotation coupled with the fact that we don't know when the season ends, so it feels like we need to prog 2 dungeons a week to T8 or above, and if we don't, again, hundreds of rune chests will be lost. Runes in 1 star and 2 stars dungeons is a good solution to accelerate the rune grind but it doesn't remove the sense of urgency we feel about the weekly rotation.
The reward is not weekly. For the current trials you have until the 31st of December to clear at least t15 for both to get up to 30k point rewards. Any further is just pointless since you only get 10 points each tier per dungeon
What i dislike about the rune system is how they made it mandatory to do atleast x10 - x15 to get weekly rewards , while before this doing t1/t2 is enough.
Daily events should give you way more runes. While those dungeons should be optional for someone who wants to spend 18 hours a day to min-max everything within a few days. Why the hell does this game feel more like a chore than my actual job?
Because not having an endgame kills the game. Like he said in the video, mmorpg needs to have a long grind but it needs to be fun and not repetitive. I think the problem is having only 1 week to grind each dungeons. That's what making ppl get the feeling of being rushed and getting burned out
Taedal tower has potential not just a 1 time clear. It should reset weekly 1 boss per floor weekly rewards the higher we go. And make it infinite floors with increasing mechs and difficulty .And like every 5 floors have bonus rewards so players will push their limits
This its very simple, Im an PvP player and its the main reason I started playing this game like many others, if you force me to grind for boring repetitive PvE stuff so I can keep up being competitive in PvP then thats where you completely lose me. PvE crybabies killed this game, the game at the beginning was full focus in PvP but because PvE crybabies started to complain about it they changed it heavily to be more PvE friendly... the result its that now we have garbage PvE systems that neither PvE nor PvP players like. Just give us PvP players a way to grind the runes with PvP that its not limited to X per week (like the arena chest runes) most PvE players are casuals that are going to leave the game sooner or later anyways... so NCSOFT should stop focusing in the PvE that much.
IDEA!: While I dont have runes and not fully aware of how leveing them works, from the sound of it, I have a really easy fix to leveling Rune burnout! Make leveling your runes be tied to your experience gains. SO no matter if you pvp, pve, or out just exploring slaying random enemies, you are always leveling your equipped runes! Make it so it takes several months (say 6 on adverage) to max out your preferred runes for your build. A casual player it's fine to take longer. This way you are always gaining power doing what you "WANT" to do and not be forced to do.
this is a super casual player take. No competitive player wants to wait months for an upgrade. Not a SINGLE ONE. 1-2 months sure, several months with no upgrades and you will burn out.
@SunnyDeLite Thing is, the overwhelming majority of the player base on nearly every online game made are casual or semi casual. So it makes sense to take care of the 90% over the 10% or less. Maybe for the super hardcore, they can make insanely hard content for them to do that super boosts their Rune progression. Regardless, if enough things to do, no one should get bored.
@@TheAlphaOmegaX3 no they are not. If that was the case NA playerbases would go down over 50% if it was casuals who worked 9-5s during weekdays, when that is not the case in nearly any game. You casuals truly think that, but are not driving markets. Casuals spend the least amount of money in the games as well.
Thank you for pointing this out! As someone having a 9-5 job and was max cp before runes came out, this made me feel like i couldnt keep up no more unless i spent my sleep hours into losing my sanity into the repetive rune grind and without much guarantee of finishing it with randoms
The main issue is there are just so many different runes (most of which are useless) that all need to level. If they consolidated the rune effects, instead of having so many variations of one rune (ranged, magic, melee, boss, normal, etc.), there would be significantly less runes that all need to be leveled and would make the grind feel much more reasonable. I’m honestly fine with how the game is designed from a rune leveling standpoint, but there are way too many unnecessary types of runes that bloat the entire process.
TL had so many good content and the freedom to do the things you enjoy before runes come out. Just put rune drops in the daily stuff. And raise the rewards in trial dungeon and make it time gated according to the level like 3 times a week if tier 5, 10times a week if tier 1 etc. Currently it forces player to grind trials and have no time for other contents. That really makes the game much less fun. Sadly, our alliances falls apart due to this infinite grind because they feel the burntout.
They can make it like , when U r doing Ur normal dngs , as when U r buring Ur daily pointns , U also get the the runes as a reward of killing the boss , without opening the box . And the tier can be decided when ppl are matching
totally agree with u - being a casual player who only gets to play 2-3 hours a day , i dont wanna spend my 2-3 hours a day just to grind runes to stay competitive
That's how i do it. im new to this game, and never seriously play mmo before, so i have so much anxiety partying with random, especially clearing hard content with them. thank god they let me get rune from world bosses
I think a good compromise would be to make them like other dungeons and cost a token currency so you can only run 2 or 3 a day, but increase the amount of runes that drop per run.
or cut it down to the bosses only, not the time-wasting pre-mobs. Or give 1/2star dungeon loot in the trials as well, so people don't have to grind dungeons AND trials.
My suggestion is to add rune rewards to PVP. Right now the game is supposed to be a PVP game but it doesn't reward PVP at all for most people. For example add rune drops to mobs in open world dungeons during night time.
Let's be honest, running just 15 of these for your weekly rewards is probably more than most people are willing to do. I 100% agree that a large part of the issue is that you don't get runes from your usual daily grind stuff. Instead of weaving the rune system and rewards into the existing routine it just gets layered on top of everything and it's just way too much. This last update felt pretty overwhelming to me and in my opinion maybe a little premature. Add in the fact that the 'prime time' event window is now like 6-7 hours straight of events, bosses and GvG (this may be fomo speaking but from like 5pm to 11pm it's literally non-stop). I really enjoyed the old event schedule, I absolutely despise this new one. Adding runes was always gonna impact people's ingame routine, changing timers with this update made a lot of people tap out I fear.
Hi Kanon Wanna talk about something bugged in the game. As xbow main the attackspeed its not calculated correctly As rex xbow traits added 8% attackspeed bugged Also gloves traits bugged And some items like etched ring its not giving the shown added attack speed Overall there's small delay in the autoattack animation xbow tested Lets say my attackspeed shown as 0.33s Thats mean i should do 3 autoattacks per second without any skills or offhand activation... Which is not Please do your test this need to be fixed ASAP❤
World bosses, dynamic events, guild raids, weekly missions, dimensional trial ,, are these the only ways to get runes now, or there is something else I missed ?

I tried it the first time yesterday, and decided to not touch it again, at least not as a daily grind. I can barely keep up with all the daily things to do, dont want to add one more thing to the list. And did they somehow increase the amount of abyssal tokens you get from completing 1* and 2* dungeons, cause it feels like they are always close to 20k even when I do them every other day.
While i mostly agree, theyve done a good job with adding rune rewards to guild raids, world bosses and dynamic events, theres no harm in adding them with a low droprate from either abyssal dungeon monsters or as rewards for completing the abyssal contracts/regular contracts. What i would really like to see is to have the option to use our dimensional tokens at the end of doing a dimensional trial to get the same rewards as we get from completing a 2* dungeon.
For me it was playing 2 - 3 after work cause I cant play anymore to feel completely behind cause I cant farm runes / or good party to farm runes even being in the top 1 guild
Logged in, activated the blue level Rune synergy. Saw how time consuming it is to run those dungeons repeatedly. Uninstalled the game. POE2 is really fun btw..
I'm down for the grind, but I would improve it by: removing the randomness, I don't want to spend 40 minutes grinding out a dungeon to find out that I got fear resistance. Let me grind for a particular rune or set of runes (atk damage, atk util etc.) One example solution is a rune that give a rune level to the rune of your choice on drop, kind of like how skill books work on skills. Adding runes to other elements of the world (as suggested in video), rewards for winning arena games for example. Rethinking adding HP + defense to dungeon tiers. It is such a cop out when you do the same dungeon again with the same mechanics but it just takes longer. People want to express skill at harder tiers, not spend longer doing the same thing. You achieve this with either/or; additional mechanics per tiers, making mechanics that exist harder/more punishing, GW2 had some decent ideas around challenge modes where the arena became smaller, Monster hunter hides the bosses HP bar. There's a ton that can be done besides this is harder because more tanky. Adding other loot to higher tier dungeons, it sucks to have focused it a ton & be behind on parchment/abyss tokens/lucent from drops, just because I have to focus runes to be relevant & there are no other alternatives. Having runes + a decent purple for some lucent drop for spending a long time on a high tier boss will feel more rewarding than just a rune drop. Consider a 'random queue' for dimensional trials which has rune incentives, helping to fill queues up faster. You could group which tier you would run for which reward, IE tiers 1 - 3 in global could be 'easy' with a small extra reward, with 4-6 being medium, 7-10 being hard and so on. Each random reward becoming more valuable. Open up the amount of dungeons you can queue for. I don't really want to spend all my time in a week just doing 2 dungeons.
@@raulcast9933i was on a top 5 guild on my server in NA east and contested throne for 2 months. We always had 50-60 on 4 days a week. Currently since runes dropped we have lost 20 players and half of who is left is inactive. Really sucks.
TNL dropping a major content update right when POE2 EA launched was a huge problem. I wanna grind runes but why would I when I can play POE and actually play a good game where the devs actually care.
I really like the runes. I like grinding. I’ve been grinding runes nonstop since they came out. I’m having a blast. My only complaint is once you get to T3 with randoms is practically impossible. People leave after 1 wipe reque repeat
true and the amount of time completing it with randoms is just insane, and after that you only getting what 5 runes? (i just finished t5 with randoms, and took us 1hr 30mins+ of constantly searching for players and completing it) wat the heck
what ever mode the war games will turn to. should reward runes. or ad rune reward to war games. it would draw more attention to the mode. lobbies would get full faster, draw more engagement from player base and more fun than the challenge dungeons.
as he said, grind is not the issue, but it should be somewhat fun. Just inflating the health of mobs to infinity doesn't make a trial more fun, it just artificially lengthens it.
I completely agree with you! Rune dungeons and rune grinding feel like a chore that just burns players out. Doing the same repetitive tasks over and over gets boring fast and doesn't bring any real enjoyment. I've noticed a similar issue in my guild-it's usually the "better players" who group up daily to grind this content, leaving others who may struggle with mechanics feeling excluded. This creates a divide within the guild, with some players falling behind and eventually leading to tension. It’s disheartening because it feels like the game unintentionally promotes this kind of disparity. I absolutely agree that runes should be obtainable through other types of content, not just grinding trials over and over again. Adding them as rewards for endgame content like T2 dungeons would be a fantastic step! It would encourage more diverse participation and keep the community engaged, which is something the devs should aim for if they want the game to stay alive. It does. No matter how many times anyone watch a guide video, if they can’t practice it they can’t get better and everyone gets better at different speed in any games.
Cheap way to make it less boring and a bit more satisfying could be the possibility for us to choose specific runes to farm in said Trials: I do not need Magic Hit Chance, so I'd rather try my best in Tier 5/6 (my current limit) to get a better version of Melee Heavy Attack Chance or Melee Endurance, anything that I, player, choose to farm. I guess it could be a good compromise. Point has been stated in the video: it's not a different content, it is the same daily one with new and harder mechanics. Cool the first try, boring the third one. Can I guarantee something I need? It becomes less tiring at least.
This is my opinion : Common runes should be lvl 1 Green runes should be up to lvl 2 Blue runes should go up to lvl 3 Purple should go up to lvl 4. Thats how many levels of trials shouls be in game.. Progression should be linear and we should be forced to do 1 common -> 1green->2green->1rare->2rare->3rare... They should stick with weekly points system for boxes and do them in 4 levels as well for example : - you do both lvl 1 you get 50 boxes , you do both lvl 2 you get 100 , you do aboth lvl 3 you get 150 boxes for that week. By doing this i think it will not be that hard at all for all players to eventually get them maxed and still it will be a meaningfull progression. Edit : I think if we have 2 star tokens we should be able to open chests after every run for Gear , if not we only get runes.. bcs ppl dont like to do same thing twice.
I 100% agree . I’m not even maxed lvl 20 runes yet and I’m sick of grinding the dungeons lol . Definitely would be great to gain runes in other areas of the game apart from world events .
To be honest even doing festival dungeon during this Halloween was painful for me. I knew that I just had to do it, but it wasn't fun at all. You became bored really fast by stupidly repeating the same dungeons
Yeah. They need to make it so you can use dungeon run multipliers. Like before entering dungeon or before you collect the option to use X amount of tokens to collect equivallent amount of loot. So that you only need to run one time to use up every entry. This allows player to just stack up and do other content on days. And then run it once after a few days and go back to doing what they want like arena or some pvp content.
Not to mention, this sht came out in KR when KR already had T2 gear. Global’s dimention trial has the same stats as but yall facing it with T1 gear 😂 ontop of a lot of players in TnL didn’t play KR and need PRACTICE to even master the new mechanics in the higher tiers.
I played 650+ hrs and enjoyed it, but the rune grind might be the reason for me to quit the game. We're grinding tier 5 nonstop to not get left behind.
Trial dungeons could spawn reward chests that could be opened with your dimensional points if you want to/if you have any left. I mean they are essentially the same content. It has become really time consuming to do everything in a day as a regular. We went from managable to impossible with this system.
My suggestion for this would be: let's call it that each time you clear a trial you get "exp" to make it simpler because that's essensially what you get just that the way it is is that the game stores what was the last level you got and then you have a chance to get a higher one etc so what I'm going at is if the player is intended to level up the runes to 60 in say 2 months or 3 months or whatever then make it so you get the amount of "exp" through weekly clear instead of having to spam the dungeon over and over. so let's say you need 100 clears to get your runes to 60, well make it so we get 15 clears worth of runes in a weekly manner and then you can clear it again for ladder or whatever. this way we would burn out way less while maintaining the same rewards which is already time gated.
Me and my friends were talking about this yesterday, we're getting behind of everyone because we dont have much time to play and we need to do our daily base things in game too, also there's a fact that this grind is very boring.
I'd love for them to periodically have areas be extremely hard; Fonos; Fire tribe area in desert; Akidu valley etc.. these places are all well designed spots that are under utilised and could be like challenge 'areas' where they'll be more spammy with abilities but as strong/stronger than like sanctum mobs solo etc. Let them drop their normal loot and runes. Periodically a sozins comet/something with sun type of thing could happen which activates fire tribe, then similiar situations for the other areas. So many nice spots in game with nice designs and layouts just not used.
love the sozin's comet idea. the game needs way more creative thought put into what a dynamic open world event is. they feel too boxed in right now. gigantrite should be one of many divine beasts roaming around, more roaming NPCs / rare vendors to hunt for, unscheduled field bosses that are actually challenging and make players explore the world / communicate with another to find at the right time. the main issue with any open world modification though is compromising the leveling / story progression of
@viridian_calx agree with everything tbh, ive been saying world bosses should be on schedule and random, so if you're in the zone and one pops up you could call over some help to kill it. Keep schedule ones for those that can't play all the time but have unannounced things happen too. I wanna play this game a bunch but always find myself out of things like dungeon currency and tokens.. it's a shame because it could be amazing. Definitely needs some more love in the outside world overall, and some battleground playlists like attack/defend castle type of thing but x vs x not a few in a party vs 4 guild alliance :')
Like how we can get a purple bag from daily contacts. Should be one with runes. The dungeons like you mentioned would also be a great addition. The bags or chest can contain 3-5 green/blue runes.
Some of us are loving the trials... give us more ... some of us play towards the PvE side of the game and re-running honing the groups skill level, speed, syncing dmg buffs, defensive buffs is fun. If you PvP'er well you have enough content (more than us PvE'ers so go PvP instead of burning out on something your not into. PvE'ers pre Trials were done with Daily content ie dailies / Weeklies / Dungeons 1*+2** in 1hr 30, we used to then just log off as nothing left to do, now we have incentive to play again. PvE perspective here.
Im totally agree with you, i love this game but spamming trial to farm rune is soooo boring , tired ,frustrating and taking time. Thats why im playing poe2 now since it have more fun and not so competitive, cause i dont have that much time to play game.
the difficult part is finding a party. im fine with everything, im fine with the grind and the maximum input for minimal reward. its the fact that the games initial player base has been spread thin with the releases of new games being released... people need to feel like they havent missed out on anything when they come back or they just wont come back. youre 100% right about adding runes across other pieces of content in the game. instead of having material selection chests in resistance contracts there need to be options for people to focus on the runes too because at this point, dedicated players have or are getting close to having maxed out skills and those contracts will become dead content to them for everything other than the training dew points and blessing pouches. side note; whens the last time anyone actually used a material selection chest?
Here is my take with runes. 1. Once you get all blue synergies you have unlocked the most useful portion of runes. 2. After unlocking the blue synergy for your characters. Take your time with it, don't balls to the wall grind tier1 dungeons etc etc and then complain about burn out. 3. I have not been grinding them every waking second and I don't think the difference in someone's combat power who has been grinding them compared to someone who hasn't is enough value to demand that sort of time. TLDR : If your not a nose bleed, stay up all night to be server first at everything kind of player....then just take your time and have fun with the new mechanics and content. The power gap isn't going to be the difference maker when it comes to GvG and ZvZ. I think the problem lies with the community of gamers that play MMOs today. If you think back to vanilla WoW, how long did it take to get max lvl, how long did it take a guild to complete the first 40man raid....
They need to make it so that Dimensional Trials is the like speed run bosses. A single player dungeon. Scale down the stats. Make it so it doesn’t hurt when it hits you normally so you don’t have to heal but the wipe condition is doing the mechanics, like DPS checks, clear X ads in X time, etc. and at the end make it so it consumes tokens and give the option for players to collect X amount of rewards by using X amount of tokens so that they don’t have to keep redoing it. One and done like use 4500 tokens to get 10x reward and would count as 10 completion. Not only will this make it so that times are saved but it would also make it more dynamic as higher tiers would require players to create PvE sets, right now most people are only pvp specced and doing all the dungeons. That way theory crafting on how to speed through the dungeons would be something a community does, it also plays around runes like, “woukd the synergy be better for this dungeon at this tier or should we stack X stat, etc.” That way they can introduce more pvp events throughout the day. I understand TnL wants to artificially make the number of players logged in at a given time to make the stat look good but the way they’re doing it right now ain’t it.
Might be beneficial to add a chest at the end of a trial dungeon. At the end of the day, you're already doing a dungeon as hard as a 2* dungeon. If you have tokens, you get to open the chest at the end of the dungeon. If you don't have tokens, its just the same as how we've been doing trial dungeons. Saves a bit of time for people already farming trials
rune chests should be also included as reward for events and daily (not for each daily, they could put it just like as pouch). also they could put possibility to exchange runes for tokens (following the trait unlock stones principle). P.S. keep the good work, really like your content
I'm a bit confused. I would definately not recommend grinding lower tiers over and over for a few runes, that does indeed sound horrible. But the Score Achievement rewards give you an absolute sh*tton of runes when you push the rank and your score. I didn't get the first weeky reward runebox because i had already releaved the rewards just before the update, but after clearing a tier 10 kertaki and 8 shaka on my main i got well over 300 blue runes. It was a pain sifting through all of them because it were so many. Full blue runes on both weapons and all accessories all around tier 20 within the first week. Ofcourse it will slow down as the % chance of upgrade goes down but it seems pretty quick as the Score Achievement Reward boxes shower you with blue runes. Same on my alt but slightly lower tier runes clearing a tier 6 and 5. Tomorrow the dungeons will change to 2 new ones which should allow you to do the same thing and get another 200-300 runes if you can clear both at around tier 5-8. Combined with the weekly chest, thats a whole lot of runes.
We get a substantial amount of runes bu pushing tiers from leaderboards rewards, it looks that you need to clear lvl 6 each week to achieve a good amount at the end of the month. That’s encouraging ppl to push higher tiers but I’m not sure how many months would you need to lvl 60 everything. The other thing is that you could spam +1 but is rng if you get a new rune to lvl up or if you get a duplicate of lvl 20 that you already had
I would agree I’m bored of running that shit would be dope if the runes drop from underground and regular 1 and 2 star dungeons with a low chance of open world mobs. It’s hard enough to get all things done per day with PvP events night time etc..
My thoughts on this grind is that it's just kinda disheartening and painful. I want to get into this game's pvp and pve, and I have friends who are excited to do the same. We started playing only recently, so players who have played since release have a month's advantage on us, and now that runes are out we have to deal with this extra level of progression to grind out before we can even be at a good level to properly play? Maybe I'm missing something, but I've asked around and people have told me not to step into arena if I'm not at least 3.500 gs, and that was before the runes. I'm around 2.800, grinding my progress, my friends are a bit behind me

I'd say the biggest issue is the gatekeeping for trial dungeons, the minimum CP is 2530 just to do a level 1, as we all know you can hit that and not have a fully traited weapon fairly easily. I'll be honest i've been one to not take someone that at least doesn't have a trait unlocked for each slot on the weapon and at least lvl 2 traits for it (and i'm just a healer with my full traited stuff) but i'd at least like to know that my dps that i'm taking will actually do some sort of damage and also survive. I've witnessed too many people at the minimum CP that just don't have enough hp to even survive Voidwastes yellow eye mechanic over peoples head and get 1 shot by it, regardless if the soaked any stacks from the lasers. So having more options to "farm" or "obtain" runes outside of just events or World Bosses would be nice.
5:50 t4 gives blue runes but the extra drop chance runes are green t5 is only blue t4 runs we do in around 5min atm i find it kinda fun with a blaster grp and not boring
Agree. Ever since the runes dungeon came out and I have to repeat the same dungeon as t2, it made me realize why am I even playing this game. Game should be fun and not boring routinary stuff all over and over until forever.
I think the biggest Issue I have with runes is the fact most of the runes are god dam worthless to me. For most players 1/3rd of the attack runes do not work with a player's current build. If you happen to a mono-damage type (ie like GS/SNS, Dag/GS, Staff/Wand, ect) then 2/3rd of the attack runes are worthless to you. Defense Runes about half of the runes wont apply to you since they would be EVA vs END... and Utility runes are even more niche. Trials are also presenting another issue for me and other players is what if you have a build that isn't dedicated enough to grind up runes properly? For context I'm a darkblighter (aka Wand/Dag) and I'm wondering why would a party take me over a dedicated Wand/Bow healer. As a PVP player, my guild went through a merge and I was left out even though im 3870 gear score and as far as burn out goes... and now the alliance they merged into upped their GS rec 4 times in a week (from 3500 to 3900). And that was the core group I was play since launch so I'm just sitting here like "Okay I can't siege, I cant do conflicts, and now I cant GvG since the guild has like 20-30 members after the merge". But I feel like I'm already playing this game like a full time job on this PVE treadmill, and now the fact I'm tied to a GVG sleeper/healer build i wonder whats the point in playing now that content is gone for me unless this alliance slots me back with my core.
From the other perspective tho It's 15x t1 runs for 150 BLUE runes from the weekly, so the 15runs give u prob around 80runes. Let's say + guildbosses another 50runes. So that's around 280runes per week, we dissolve all and get probably around 40new runes from that green/blue. That is still like 300-350runes every week. Then we also get first time rewards, many people clear t10-t15's. Also T4 in our version drops like 85% blues already, so there's no real need for playing T5 to grind anything. And t4's already getting cleared in 10m by higher gs players Like I've over 600runes in boxes and the system just released, tomorrow I get another 150from weekly and probably another 250 from the first time clear rewards I'd rather wish that AGS would overall increase mats, so we can actually change builds around a bit, get a pve set, change class and build and not fear we won't be able to play T2 properly if we use anything being stuck in 1 path
I agree on the fact that doing over and over and over the same dungeon its a super bad experience with this system, you have 0 control on what rune you get ( maybe you only need weapon rune ). So my feedback, even on the TL Discord was to improve the amount of rune you get from all the tier, maybe you can select what rune you want from the clear reward ( 6 box and you choose ) ,to adjust the boss stat for our patch ( for what i know rune system comes out in korea after T2 Equip ) and maybe we can just run the boss instead of the whole dungeon, maybe put it in a time trial mode to give it that extra spicy (like the time trial dungeon ). Another stuff i dont really like this board party finding system its stressfull and im not even counting that if you are playing something not in "meta" ppl just kick you. Maybe this feedback is not the final solution but could be something.
i like the idea of having a grind that does not require any kind of tokens, there were times before the rune system where not having tokens left me with nothing productive to do. Having said that, i also believe that the actual rune system could be improved or extended to for example tier 1 dungeons dropping some runes to make it worth again. I find myself nowadays neglecting T1 dungeons in favour of the rune system.
Couldn't agree more as a mostly free to play 4k CP player, this is making me feel like I'm falling behind because I don't have the time to do everything plus the grind. Its making me slowly not want to play and look to other games sadly, had a blast with my game and my guild but I want a game, not another job.
Maybe I'll care when we have t2 gear to make it less painful (which let's be honest it won't since it will just move the goalpost to a slightly higher number trial)

You get rune bags from things as simple as world bosses/conflict bosses. I think hard grinding is the issue. You burn yourself out with needing to be max level within a week

We need more runes from other events in game. They should make the trial just the boss fight and skip the mobs and mini bosses and at least let us open the chest with tokens at the end and knock out two birds with one stone
Those trials should be boss runs only. Theres no need to run it as a full blown dungeon, just for 2 runes per run.

I like this idea the most! I enjoy the concept of taking existing dungeons, putting in a rotation and adding new mechanics/difficulty to them. But you're right.. slugging through the whole thing is exhausting.
Add more challenge levels to Taedal's Tower to give out runes as rewards ... etc ...
Agreed, there's no way as a solo player to do these realistically. I get tnl is a mmo where grouping is a big thing. But at least having an option for those more solo-ish players.

I don't mind hardcore PvE content, but as a competitive player I really hate how nowadays I spend most of my playtime grinding the same dungeons non stop while barely PvPing... to stay competitive in PvP.
Between abyss points, 1 star dungeon points, 2 star dungeon points, resistance contracts AND rune grind, I'm starting to get the BDO feel of you spend 90% of your time doing PvE chores so you can have fun in the 10% of the time you're PvPing.
BDO grind is 1000% more fun compared to challenge dungeons. Especially if you run those with random parties.

They came out with a perfect system in Aion 15 years ago and decided to ditch that for no fing reason. You could farm all you need as a pvp player just by playing pvp content and pvpve content.. Not sure why , as pvp players, we are forced to PVE. If I want a good PVE, I can go ff14 or Elden Ring or poe 2 .. This is supposed to be a PvP MMO.

Runes made me quit the game. Grinding your Dimensional Tokens, Abyssal Tokens, doing core time with your guild (Bosses etc.) is already a lot to do. No way im farming 4 hrs+ a day for runes just to keep up with all the unemployed tryhards...
Same here..I ended up finding out most people in my guild are losers with no job..I had to leave because I could not keep up. Most of them lived at there parents too lol

In my opinion it was NOT necessary to release runes ALREADY! We just got 2 Star dungeons and ppl were still working on their gear and now they release Trials too. Oh and tomorrow we get the Xmas Event too so MORE grind AGAIN? God im burned out and I already turned my activity back by a LOT enjoying other games atm.
They did because runes will make the 2star easier for everyone.

yup, the only fun thing is trying harder levels once with your friends. But with randoms? no. And once you master it, it gets boring. So many players quit in the last week because they are burned out. What I would do: reduce the rune trials to just the bosses. The pre-mobs are just a waste of time, not challenging, just annoying. Also, either give a lower amount of runes to normal 1/2-star dungeons to give them a chance at progressing, or give the loot from 1/2 star dungeons in the rune trials as well. Grinding 4500+4500+rune trials+contracts just seems excessive.

Why waste time and actual real money in a game that doesn't respect your time and money when you an play a superior game that does? I enjoy T&L when it first came out - and then they release the 2 star dungeons. The queue dodgers completely ruined the game for me. Couldn't even complete runs because of them constantly joining and leaving and so on. And then you had undergeared mouth breathers who couldn't follow simple mechanics join with their blue weapons (you should have a purple weapon by the tie you hit two star) and the runs would just die.
This isn't fun, What should take 20 minutes is taking an hour to complete and for very little in return.
No one wants that.
NC Soft needs to rethink their PvE content and redo a lot of it if they want to maintain a player base.

- Change weeklies to = any dungeon = runes for completion
- allow runes to drop from Open World / Resistance Contracts
- allow alternate "rune" pouch vs. "blessing" pouch as reward (when refreshing)
- allow auto transmute for runes based on type, stat, and rarity.
- add to treasure goblins as chaos rune low low chance.
- add additional rune drop to mystic portals
- Add them to dynamic events and make them part of the scaling personal rewards... (Perforamce based).
And now your runes will progressively get stronger as you play.. If you grind the dungeon it can go quicker.
Provide rune type and category selection chest... Especially of you rock the dungeon ranks... Anyways. They can make runes fun and exciting And forcing players down this path (Even though we've asked for PVE) isn't really the answer.

About the dynamic events, they actually added runes for the performance based rewards, you can check it in the dynamic events reward
What I enjoyed about TL was its relaxed pacing, with various activities offering a little bit of everything. You could easily spend an entire day in the game without even noticing (especially on weekends). And then sweat it out in some PvP event.
But everything changed drastically with the introduction of runes - it all became about this endless grind, especially with so many complex mechanics. Honestly, it feels like they’re about to add these dungeons as an official Olympic sport!
However, with these rune dungeons, after just two days, I couldn’t even bring myself to complete the weekly quests for them. I feel complete aversion to this content. On my server, there are already players with Level 40+ blue runes who spend entire days grinding these dungeons. In our guild, we even canceled PvP events so that people could focus on farming runes as much as possible. But I just can’t make myself do it. After an hour of struggling through a new dungeon level, I’d rather do literally anything else than play.
I understand that some players enjoy this update, but there are also many who desperately want to avoid this content - and there’s absolutely no way to opt out.
In the end, I left my party so I wouldn’t drag them down with my negativity and even quit the guild. I don’t believe Amazon will find a quick solution for this. At best, they might add three random rune chests that you can buy with some sort of points, but for people who farm runes all day long, that’s a joke.
For me, the game is pretty much over. I don’t think I’ll ever want to return to these dungeons. Just the thought of it makes me nauseous.

Men I never did trial dungeons in Korea, and here in global I only did it once it’s sooo boring. They should add runes to open world dungeons with a small amount of % of getting runes

True. As a guild leader I noticed the drop in activity a few days after the runes dropped - and no, it wasn't due to POE2.
As soon as people realize the insane grind that it's needed for runes, they said "yeah my build is done, screw the runes, I'll be logging in for guild raids and riftstone pvp".
We had an average of 30 online for peak times unt last week, we're 15 nowadays.

Many players are working and can’t spend 8hrs a day grinding.
They should let you open a chest at the end of a trial with the dungeon tokens. If I complete a trial (harder than a normal 2* dungeon) let me spend my tokens to open a chest for that dungeon as well as give me runes. This would help a ton.
They should just put the time cube at the start of every dungeon and you can optionally enable it. Chest always there regardless

I have not yet tried the trials because I really don't enjoy grind and I don't like to do dungeons. When I do two a day I already feel tired of it :D but I thought this is already a thing. I really thought you get the chest and runes. Knowing I don't even get a chest makes me really stay out of there.
Add runes reward also for arena would be good. Aside the 9 coins there is nothing. Don't get me wrong, I love arenas but in MMOs like Gw2 I didn't have to worry about gearing. Here I barely have time for arenas because I need to gear up to compete so having some rewards wouldn't be bad. Don't wanna spend 90% of the time to farm for enjoying the remaining 10%.
3 1 star dungeon with random, 2 2 star dungeon with random, 10 quest, field dungeon, 9 arena wins, Mystic portal with broken map. And now 2 or 3 trials everyday for weekly. They keep adding more and more chores for players.
It's all optional if you view content as chores then don't do it that simple.
We have had some guilds actually disband and leave the game based on the Rune system. They didn't want to go through the tedious rune grind to stay competitive in PVP. I don't mind it personally if they can make it more fun, but i understand why others will refuse to bother.
1 star, 2 star, open dungeons, events, field bosses, guild bosses, archebosses, boonstone, riftstone, regular contracts, arenas, and now trial dungeons, this is insane I have 0 time to do runes because there is a million other things to do oh and starting tomorrow 2 archebosses a day and seasonal event shit. If I'm not on the game 24 hours a day I cant stay viable its awful.
I hope they also give us an option to spend 2x or 3x dimensional tokens in just 1 run,obviously that means also 2x or 3x the reward, it would give us more time to do more stuff and not get drained.
In korea there was seasonal event where you have 2 chest after killing dungeon boss.
That or allowing the trials to have chests to spend the tokens so you can knock two birds with one stone

True. While I am in an active guild and have the chance to almost always farm with a fixed team, this content is basically unplayable with randoms, thus destroying smaller guilds, which will be the end of the game.

Well you can farm box's from region events that are easy to obtain reward achievements from. Its not much but its available to you.

The burn out, in my opinion, comes from the weekly reward which strongly incentivize to do 15 of those every week (on top of to all your other dailies and weeklies) or lose a stupid amount of character progression (150 rune chests).
The second source of burn out would be, still imo, the fast dungeons weekly rotation coupled with the fact that we don't know when the season ends, so it feels like we need to prog 2 dungeons a week to T8 or above, and if we don't, again, hundreds of rune chests will be lost.
Runes in 1 star and 2 stars dungeons is a good solution to accelerate the rune grind but it doesn't remove the sense of urgency we feel about the weekly rotation.
The reward is not weekly. For the current trials you have until the 31st of December to clear at least t15 for both to get up to 30k point rewards. Any further is just pointless since you only get 10 points each tier per dungeon
arena season has an end date 3/5/25 listed in game. no idea what that actually means for anything outside of arena

What i dislike about the rune system is how they made it mandatory to do atleast x10 - x15 to get weekly rewards , while before this doing t1/t2 is enough.

Daily events should give you way more runes. While those dungeons should be optional for someone who wants to spend 18 hours a day to min-max everything within a few days. Why the hell does this game feel more like a chore than my actual job?
Because not having an endgame kills the game. Like he said in the video, mmorpg needs to have a long grind but it needs to be fun and not repetitive. I think the problem is having only 1 week to grind each dungeons. That's what making ppl get the feeling of being rushed and getting burned out
Taedal tower has potential not just a 1 time clear. It should reset weekly 1 boss per floor weekly rewards the higher we go. And make it infinite floors with increasing mechs and difficulty .And like every 5 floors have bonus rewards so players will push their limits

This its very simple, Im an PvP player and its the main reason I started playing this game like many others, if you force me to grind for boring repetitive PvE stuff so I can keep up being competitive in PvP then thats where you completely lose me.
PvE crybabies killed this game, the game at the beginning was full focus in PvP but because PvE crybabies started to complain about it they changed it heavily to be more PvE friendly... the result its that now we have garbage PvE systems that neither PvE nor PvP players like.
Just give us PvP players a way to grind the runes with PvP that its not limited to X per week (like the arena chest runes) most PvE players are casuals that are going to leave the game sooner or later anyways... so NCSOFT should stop focusing in the PvE that much.
IDEA!: While I dont have runes and not fully aware of how leveing them works, from the sound of it, I have a really easy fix to leveling Rune burnout! Make leveling your runes be tied to your experience gains. SO no matter if you pvp, pve, or out just exploring slaying random enemies, you are always leveling your equipped runes! Make it so it takes several months (say 6 on adverage) to max out your preferred runes for your build. A casual player it's fine to take longer. This way you are always gaining power doing what you "WANT" to do and not be forced to do.
this is a super casual player take. No competitive player wants to wait months for an upgrade. Not a SINGLE ONE. 1-2 months sure, several months with no upgrades and you will burn out.
@SunnyDeLite Thing is, the overwhelming majority of the player base on nearly every online game made are casual or semi casual. So it makes sense to take care of the 90% over the 10% or less. Maybe for the super hardcore, they can make insanely hard content for them to do that super boosts their Rune progression. Regardless, if enough things to do, no one should get bored.

Thank you for pointing this out! As someone having a 9-5 job and was max cp before runes came out, this made me feel like i couldnt keep up no more unless i spent my sleep hours into losing my sanity into the repetive rune grind and without much guarantee of finishing it with randoms
The main issue is there are just so many different runes (most of which are useless) that all need to level. If they consolidated the rune effects, instead of having so many variations of one rune (ranged, magic, melee, boss, normal, etc.), there would be significantly less runes that all need to be leveled and would make the grind feel much more reasonable. I’m honestly fine with how the game is designed from a rune leveling standpoint, but there are way too many unnecessary types of runes that bloat the entire process.
Meanwhile, I haven't even done a t2 dungeon yet lol

TL had so many good content and the freedom to do the things you enjoy before runes come out. Just put rune drops in the daily stuff. And raise the rewards in trial dungeon and make it time gated according to the level like 3 times a week if tier 5, 10times a week if tier 1 etc.
Currently it forces player to grind trials and have no time for other contents. That really makes the game much less fun.
Sadly, our alliances falls apart due to this infinite grind because they feel the burntout.
They can make it like , when U r doing Ur normal dngs , as when U r buring Ur daily pointns , U also get the the runes as a reward of killing the boss , without opening the box . And the tier can be decided when ppl are matching

you should get some runes in 300 and 450 tokens dungeons, u should get some in resistence contracts, mobs in open dungeons should drop it aswell
I think a good compromise would be to make them like other dungeons and cost a token currency so you can only run 2 or 3 a day, but increase the amount of runes that drop per run.
or cut it down to the bosses only, not the time-wasting pre-mobs. Or give 1/2star dungeon loot in the trials as well, so people don't have to grind dungeons AND trials.

My suggestion is to add rune rewards to PVP. Right now the game is supposed to be a PVP game but it doesn't reward PVP at all for most people. For example add rune drops to mobs in open world dungeons during night time.

Let's be honest, running just 15 of these for your weekly rewards is probably more than most people are willing to do. I 100% agree that a large part of the issue is that you don't get runes from your usual daily grind stuff. Instead of weaving the rune system and rewards into the existing routine it just gets layered on top of everything and it's just way too much. This last update felt pretty overwhelming to me and in my opinion maybe a little premature. Add in the fact that the 'prime time' event window is now like 6-7 hours straight of events, bosses and GvG (this may be fomo speaking but from like 5pm to 11pm it's literally non-stop). I really enjoyed the old event schedule, I absolutely despise this new one. Adding runes was always gonna impact people's ingame routine, changing timers with this update made a lot of people tap out I fear.

As rex xbow traits added 8% attackspeed bugged
Also gloves traits bugged
And some items like etched ring its not giving the shown added attack speed
Overall there's small delay in the autoattack animation xbow tested
Lets say my attackspeed shown as 0.33s Thats mean i should do 3 autoattacks per second without any skills or offhand activation... Which is not

The simple and easy way to fix it is just put rune level same each stats so we don't need grind each stats level which is annoying.

I tried it the first time yesterday, and decided to not touch it again, at least not as a daily grind. I can barely keep up with all the daily things to do, dont want to add one more thing to the list. And did they somehow increase the amount of abyssal tokens you get from completing 1* and 2* dungeons, cause it feels like they are always close to 20k even when I do them every other day.

While i mostly agree, theyve done a good job with adding rune rewards to guild raids, world bosses and dynamic events, theres no harm in adding them with a low droprate from either abyssal dungeon monsters or as rewards for completing the abyssal contracts/regular contracts. What i would really like to see is to have the option to use our dimensional tokens at the end of doing a dimensional trial to get the same rewards as we get from completing a 2* dungeon.

I'm down for the grind, but I would improve it by:
removing the randomness, I don't want to spend 40 minutes grinding out a dungeon to find out that I got fear resistance. Let me grind for a particular rune or set of runes (atk damage, atk util etc.) One example solution is a rune that give a rune level to the rune of your choice on drop, kind of like how skill books work on skills.
Adding runes to other elements of the world (as suggested in video), rewards for winning arena games for example.
Rethinking adding HP + defense to dungeon tiers. It is such a cop out when you do the same dungeon again with the same mechanics but it just takes longer. People want to express skill at harder tiers, not spend longer doing the same thing. You achieve this with either/or; additional mechanics per tiers, making mechanics that exist harder/more punishing, GW2 had some decent ideas around challenge modes where the arena became smaller, Monster hunter hides the bosses HP bar. There's a ton that can be done besides this is harder because more tanky.
Adding other loot to higher tier dungeons, it sucks to have focused it a ton & be behind on parchment/abyss tokens/lucent from drops, just because I have to focus runes to be relevant & there are no other alternatives. Having runes + a decent purple for some lucent drop for spending a long time on a high tier boss will feel more rewarding than just a rune drop.
Consider a 'random queue' for dimensional trials which has rune incentives, helping to fill queues up faster. You could group which tier you would run for which reward, IE tiers 1 - 3 in global could be 'easy' with a small extra reward, with 4-6 being medium, 7-10 being hard and so on. Each random reward becoming more valuable.
Open up the amount of dungeons you can queue for. I don't really want to spend all my time in a week just doing 2 dungeons.

@@raulcast9933i was on a top 5 guild on my server in NA east and contested throne for 2 months. We always had 50-60 on 4 days a week. Currently since runes dropped we have lost 20 players and half of who is left is inactive. Really sucks.
TNL dropping a major content update right when POE2 EA launched was a huge problem. I wanna grind runes but why would I when I can play POE and actually play a good game where the devs actually care.

I really like the runes. I like grinding. I’ve been grinding runes nonstop since they came out. I’m having a blast. My only complaint is once you get to T3 with randoms is practically impossible. People leave after 1 wipe reque repeat

I completely agree with you! Rune dungeons and rune grinding feel like a chore that just burns players out. Doing the same repetitive tasks over and over gets boring fast and doesn't bring any real enjoyment. I've noticed a similar issue in my guild-it's usually the "better players" who group up daily to grind this content, leaving others who may struggle with mechanics feeling excluded. This creates a divide within the guild, with some players falling behind and eventually leading to tension. I absolutely agree that runes should be obtainable through other types of content, not just grinding trials over and over again. It does. No matter how many times anyone watch a guide video, if they can’t practice it they can’t get better and everyone gets better at different speed in any games.
Cheap way to make it less boring and a bit more satisfying could be the possibility for us to choose specific runes to farm in said Trials: I do not need Magic Hit Chance, so I'd rather try my best in Tier 5/6 (my current limit) to get a better version of Melee Heavy Attack Chance or Melee Endurance, anything that I, player, choose to farm. I guess it could be a good compromise. Point has been stated in the video: it's not a different content, it is the same daily one with new and harder mechanics. Cool the first try, boring the third one. Can I guarantee something I need? It becomes less tiring at least.

This is my opinion :
Common runes should be lvl 1
Green runes should be up to lvl 2
Blue runes should go up to lvl 3
Purple should go up to lvl 4.
Thats how many levels of trials shouls be in game..
Progression should be linear and we should be forced to do 1 common -> 1green->2green->1rare->2rare->3rare...
They should stick with weekly points system for boxes and do them in 4 levels as well for example :
- you do both lvl 1 you get 50 boxes , you do both lvl 2 you get 100 , you do aboth lvl 3 you get 150 boxes for that week.
By doing this i think it will not be that hard at all for all players to eventually get them maxed and still it will be a meaningfull progression.
Edit : I think if we have 2 star tokens we should be able to open chests after every run for Gear , if not we only get runes.. bcs ppl dont like to do same thing twice.

To be honest even doing festival dungeon during this Halloween was painful for me. I knew that I just had to do it, but it wasn't fun at all. You became bored really fast by stupidly repeating the same dungeons
Yeah. They need to make it so you can use dungeon run multipliers.
Like before entering dungeon or before you collect the option to use X amount of tokens to collect equivallent amount of loot.
So that you only need to run one time to use up every entry.
This allows player to just stack up and do other content on days. And then run it once after a few days and go back to doing what they want like arena or some pvp content.
imagine when grinding in a tier 5 rune dungeon in 1hr+++ (with randoms) and only getting 5 crap runes
Not to mention, this sht came out in KR when KR already had T2 gear.
Global’s dimention trial has the same stats as but yall facing it with T1 gear 😂 ontop of a lot of players in TnL didn’t play KR and need PRACTICE to even master the new mechanics in the higher tiers.
Its simple: Copy paste world of warcraft's BGs -> reward winners with coins -> sell rune chests.
I played 650+ hrs and enjoyed it, but the rune grind might be the reason for me to quit the game. We're grinding tier 5 nonstop to not get left behind.
Trial dungeons could spawn reward chests that could be opened with your dimensional points if you want to/if you have any left. I mean they are essentially the same content. It has become really time consuming to do everything in a day as a regular. We went from managable to impossible with this system.
My suggestion for this would be: let's call it that each time you clear a trial you get "exp" to make it simpler because that's essensially what you get just that the way it is is that the game stores what was the last level you got and then you have a chance to get a higher one etc so what I'm going at is if the player is intended to level up the runes to 60 in say 2 months or 3 months or whatever then make it so you get the amount of "exp" through weekly clear instead of having to spam the dungeon over and over. so let's say you need 100 clears to get your runes to 60, well make it so we get 15 clears worth of runes in a weekly manner and then you can clear it again for ladder or whatever. this way we would burn out way less while maintaining the same rewards which is already time gated.

Me and my friends were talking about this yesterday, we're getting behind of everyone because we dont have much time to play and we need to do our daily base things in game too, also there's a fact that this grind is very boring.
I'd love for them to periodically have areas be extremely hard; Fonos; Fire tribe area in desert; Akidu valley etc.. these places are all well designed spots that are under utilised and could be like challenge 'areas' where they'll be more spammy with abilities but as strong/stronger than like sanctum mobs solo etc. Let them drop their normal loot and runes.
Periodically a sozins comet/something with sun type of thing could happen which activates fire tribe, then similiar situations for the other areas. So many nice spots in game with nice designs and layouts just not used.
love the sozin's comet idea. the game needs way more creative thought put into what a dynamic open world event is. they feel too boxed in right now. gigantrite should be one of many divine beasts roaming around, more roaming NPCs / rare vendors to hunt for, unscheduled field bosses that are actually challenging and make players explore the world / communicate with another to find at the right time.

@viridian_calx agree with everything tbh, ive been saying world bosses should be on schedule and random, so if you're in the zone and one pops up you could call over some help to kill it. Keep schedule ones for those that can't play all the time but have unannounced things happen too.
I wanna play this game a bunch but always find myself out of things like dungeon currency and tokens.. it's a shame because it could be amazing.
Definitely needs some more love in the outside world overall, and some battleground playlists like attack/defend castle type of thing but x vs x not a few in a party vs 4 guild alliance :')
Like how we can get a purple bag from daily contacts. Should be one with runes. The dungeons like you mentioned would also be a great addition. The bags or chest can contain 3-5 green/blue runes.

Some of us are loving the trials... give us more ... some of us play towards the PvE side of the game and re-running honing the groups skill level, speed, syncing dmg buffs, defensive buffs is fun. If you PvP'er well you have enough content (more than us PvE'ers so go PvP instead of burning out on something your not into. PvE'ers pre Trials were done with Daily content ie dailies / Weeklies / Dungeons 1*+2** in 1hr 30, we used to then just log off as nothing left to do, now we have incentive to play again. PvE perspective here.

Im totally agree with you, i love this game but spamming trial to farm rune is soooo boring , tired ,frustrating and taking time. Thats why im playing poe2 now since it have more fun and not so competitive, cause i dont have that much time to play game.
the difficult part is finding a party. im fine with everything, im fine with the grind and the maximum input for minimal reward. its the fact that the games initial player base has been spread thin with the releases of new games being released... people need to feel like they havent missed out on anything when they come back or they just wont come back.
youre 100% right about adding runes across other pieces of content in the game. instead of having material selection chests in resistance contracts there need to be options for people to focus on the runes too because at this point, dedicated players have or are getting close to having maxed out skills and those contracts will become dead content to them for everything other than the training dew points and blessing pouches.
side note; whens the last time anyone actually used a material selection chest?
Here is my take with runes.
1. Once you get all blue synergies you have unlocked the most useful portion of runes.
2. After unlocking the blue synergy for your characters. Take your time with it, don't balls to the wall grind tier1 dungeons etc etc and then complain about burn out.
3. I have not been grinding them every waking second and I don't think the difference in someone's combat power who has been grinding them compared to someone who hasn't is enough value to demand that sort of time.
TLDR : If your not a nose bleed, stay up all night to be server first at everything kind of player....then just take your time and have fun with the new mechanics and content. The power gap isn't going to be the difference maker when it comes to GvG and ZvZ.
I think the problem lies with the community of gamers that play MMOs today. If you think back to vanilla WoW, how long did it take to get max lvl, how long did it take a guild to complete the first 40man raid....
They need to make it so that Dimensional Trials is the like speed run bosses.
A single player dungeon. Scale down the stats. Make it so it doesn’t hurt when it hits you normally so you don’t have to heal but the wipe condition is doing the mechanics, like DPS checks, clear X ads in X time, etc. and at the end make it so it consumes tokens and give the option for players to collect X amount of rewards by using X amount of tokens so that they don’t have to keep redoing it. One and done like use 4500 tokens to get 10x reward and would count as 10 completion. Not only will this make it so that times are saved but it would also make it more dynamic as higher tiers would require players to create PvE sets, right now most people are only pvp specced and doing all the dungeons. That way theory crafting on how to speed through the dungeons would be something a community does, it also plays around runes like, “woukd the synergy be better for this dungeon at this tier or should we stack X stat, etc.”
That way they can introduce more pvp events throughout the day.
I understand TnL wants to artificially make the number of players logged in at a given time to make the stat look good but the way they’re doing it right now ain’t it.
Might be beneficial to add a chest at the end of a trial dungeon. At the end of the day, you're already doing a dungeon as hard as a 2* dungeon. If you have tokens, you get to open the chest at the end of the dungeon. If you don't have tokens, its just the same as how we've been doing trial dungeons. Saves a bit of time for people already farming trials

I'm a bit confused. I would definately not recommend grinding lower tiers over and over for a few runes, that does indeed sound horrible. But the Score Achievement rewards give you an absolute sh*tton of runes when you push the rank and your score. I didn't get the first weeky reward runebox because i had already releaved the rewards just before the update, but after clearing a tier 10 kertaki and 8 shaka on my main i got well over 300 blue runes. It was a pain sifting through all of them because it were so many. Full blue runes on both weapons and all accessories all around tier 20 within the first week. Ofcourse it will slow down as the % chance of upgrade goes down but it seems pretty quick as the Score Achievement Reward boxes shower you with blue runes. Same on my alt but slightly lower tier runes clearing a tier 6 and 5. Tomorrow the dungeons will change to 2 new ones which should allow you to do the same thing and get another 200-300 runes if you can clear both at around tier 5-8. Combined with the weekly chest, thats a whole lot of runes.
We get a substantial amount of runes bu pushing tiers from leaderboards rewards, it looks that you need to clear lvl 6 each week to achieve a good amount at the end of the month. That’s encouraging ppl to push higher tiers but I’m not sure how many months would you need to lvl 60 everything. The other thing is that you could spam +1 but is rng if you get a new rune to lvl up or if you get a duplicate of lvl 20 that you already had
I would agree I’m bored of running that shit would be dope if the runes drop from underground and regular 1 and 2 star dungeons with a low chance of open world mobs. It’s hard enough to get all things done per day with PvP events night time etc..
My thoughts on this grind is that it's just kinda disheartening and painful. I want to get into this game's pvp and pve, and I have friends who are excited to do the same. We started playing only recently, so players who have played since release have a month's advantage on us, and now that runes are out we have to deal with this extra level of progression to grind out before we can even be at a good level to properly play? Maybe I'm missing something, but I've asked around and people have told me not to step into arena if I'm not at least 3.500 gs, and that was before the runes. I'm around 2.800, grinding my progress, my friends are a bit behind me

I'd say the biggest issue is the gatekeeping for trial dungeons, the minimum CP is 2530 just to do a level 1, as we all know you can hit that and not have a fully traited weapon fairly easily. I'll be honest i've been one to not take someone that at least doesn't have a trait unlocked for each slot on the weapon and at least lvl 2 traits for it (and i'm just a healer with my full traited stuff) but i'd at least like to know that my dps that i'm taking will actually do some sort of damage and also survive. I've witnessed too many people at the minimum CP that just don't have enough hp to even survive Voidwastes yellow eye mechanic over peoples head and get 1 shot by it, regardless if the soaked any stacks from the lasers. So having more options to "farm" or "obtain" runes outside of just events or World Bosses would be nice.
5:50 t4 gives blue runes but the extra drop chance runes are green t5 is only blue t4 runs we do in around 5min atm i find it kinda fun with a blaster grp and not boring
Agree. Ever since the runes dungeon came out and I have to repeat the same dungeon as t2, it made me realize why am I even playing this game. Game should be fun and not boring routinary stuff all over and over until forever.
These dungeons are soo cool and fun. Doing them 45 times a week. Not so cool and fun.
I think the biggest Issue I have with runes is the fact most of the runes are god dam worthless to me.
For most players 1/3rd of the attack runes do not work with a player's current build. If you happen to a mono-damage type (ie like GS/SNS, Dag/GS, Staff/Wand, ect) then 2/3rd of the attack runes are worthless to you. Defense Runes about half of the runes wont apply to you since they would be EVA vs END... and Utility runes are even more niche.
Trials are also presenting another issue for me and other players is what if you have a build that isn't dedicated enough to grind up runes properly? For context I'm a darkblighter (aka Wand/Dag) and I'm wondering why would a party take me over a dedicated Wand/Bow healer.
As a PVP player, my guild went through a merge and I was left out even though im 3870 gear score and as far as burn out goes... and now the alliance they merged into upped their GS rec 4 times in a week (from 3500 to 3900). And that was the core group I was play since launch so I'm just sitting here like "Okay I can't siege, I cant do conflicts, and now I cant GvG since the guild has like 20-30 members after the merge". But I feel like I'm already playing this game like a full time job on this PVE treadmill, and now the fact I'm tied to a GVG sleeper/healer build i wonder whats the point in playing now that content is gone for me unless this alliance slots me back with my core.
From the other perspective tho
It's 15x t1 runs for 150 BLUE runes from the weekly, so the 15runs give u prob around 80runes. Let's say + guildbosses another 50runes. So that's around 280runes per week, we dissolve all and get probably around 40new runes from that green/blue.
That is still like 300-350runes every week. Then we also get first time rewards, many people clear t10-t15's. Also T4 in our version drops like 85% blues already, so there's no real need for playing T5 to grind anything. And t4's already getting cleared in 10m by higher gs players
Like I've over 600runes in boxes and the system just released, tomorrow I get another 150from weekly and probably another 250 from the first time clear rewards
I'd rather wish that AGS would overall increase mats, so we can actually change builds around a bit, get a pve set, change class and build and not fear we won't be able to play T2 properly if we use anything being stuck in 1 path
I agree on the fact that doing over and over and over the same dungeon its a super bad experience with this system, you have 0 control on what rune you get ( maybe you only need weapon rune ). So my feedback, even on the TL Discord was to improve the amount of rune you get from all the tier, maybe you can select what rune you want from the clear reward ( 6 box and you choose ) ,to adjust the boss stat for our patch ( for what i know rune system comes out in korea after T2 Equip ) and maybe we can just run the boss instead of the whole dungeon, maybe put it in a time trial mode to give it that extra spicy (like the time trial dungeon ). Another stuff i dont really like this board party finding system its stressfull and im not even counting that if you are playing something not in "meta" ppl just kick you. Maybe this feedback is not the final solution but could be something.
i like the idea of having a grind that does not require any kind of tokens, there were times before the rune system where not having tokens left me with nothing productive to do.
Having said that, i also believe that the actual rune system could be improved or extended to for example tier 1 dungeons dropping some runes to make it worth again. I find myself nowadays neglecting T1 dungeons in favour of the rune system.
Couldn't agree more as a mostly free to play 4k CP player, this is making me feel like I'm falling behind because I don't have the time to do everything plus the grind. Its making me slowly not want to play and look to other games sadly, had a blast with my game and my guild but I want a game, not another job.
Maybe I'll care when we have t2 gear to make it less painful (which let's be honest it won't since it will just move the goalpost to a slightly higher number trial)
