I loved Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman. She played a real criminal, not a cartoon character, and her presence on screen was fantastic. I loved her style, she made long hair work with the character. The first time I was ever watching Catwoman more than Batman in any pairing I had seen before.
Same thoughts. Michelle is iconic in her 80's campy way, but Anne just brought that levity and a grounded feel of realism that sets the appropriate tone for the trilogy.
She was definitely the best of all the live action Catwomen. She wasn't constantly writing in place. She wasn't just one giant sex joke. She was powerful and vulnerable when it was needed. I was blown away by her Catwoman honestly. She was the best part of Dark Knight Rises.
The "Oops" scene is totally my favorite in that movie. With a single word and tiniest shift of her shoulders, she does a completely believable 180. I fell completely in love with the character in that moment.
Her catwoman was the best I've seen. And the fact that Les miserables and dark Knight rises released in the same year shows the range of her artistry, she's one hell of an actress ❤️
Kee Leichtle well, The Cat was what Catwoman was originally called in the early comics. The name Catwoman came later, so it was a reference to the earliest incarnation of the characters name as to why she wasn’t called Catwoman.
The Watcher I would’ve loved to have seen what his adaptation of poison ivy would’ve looked like. She was my favorite of the Batman villains and I think Uma Thurman‘s version would’ve been fantastic if she had been given a proper script, so instead of a serious 3 dimensional ecoterrorist, we wound up with a cartoon character. And I don’t think it’s shaping up to be any different in the DCEU.

I saw Les Miserables in the theatre and I saw her performance, I said to my wife that Anne's gonna win an Oscar with that role. And she did. She's simply stunning.
I love the scene in The Dark Knight when she enters the restaraunt with The missing Senator & when asked "you brought a date?" she answers "I like having someone around to open doors for me". Then rather elegantly plops herself down in that little black dress. Love Michelle P. but Anne's Catwoman was EVERYTHING.

If Anne Hathaway was born in an era with noble ladies, she'd have influence all over the kingdom since the "Anne Hathaway effect" doesn't clash with those views. Being too perfect of a noble lady with grace and elegance while fluently speaking and still being likeable would have worked for her. This may make me sound crazy but as far as I’m concerned Anne Hathaway is the best actress who has played Catwoman. Michelle Phiffer was good but every 90s kid I’ve known myself included think that it just comes across not as good camp but corny camp. The whole “she becomes strong, confident and embraces her sensuality because she gets brought back to life by cats and not on her own merit” is pretty lazy writing. Anne on the other hand comes across as a genuine character. She doesn’t do the annoying cat puns, her suit is practical, realistic and sexy, and she was equally seductive and intimidating at the same time which is Catwoman to a T. Plus I actually love the ending on how in this universe Bruce and Selina end up together, disappear and live happy lives.
Michelle Pfeiffer is Catwoman for all 90s kids. You seem to miss the point of her Catwoman. Yes its camp but its not bad. It's actually very psychological. You can argue that her Selina is mentally disturbed after getting pushed down a window. She snaps and imagines herself to be a cat with nine lives. When she probably made her outfit bulletproof. It's that layers of the character that works. That whole movie is actually a character studie about three dusturbed characters
In all fairness, Anne is the only one who played the modern Catwoman. Newmar, Kitt & Merryweather played the Golden Age version, and Berry & Pfeiffer each played a version created specifically for their respective film. Still, Hathaway was great and I loved seeing that morally grey thief, who succeeds because of her training and her smarts.

I remember back when the dark knight was released and WB did a survey asking fans what two villains would like to see in the next Batman movie and who should they play them. My answers where the Riddler and Catwomen. I didn’t know who to pick for the riddler but I actually chose Anne Hathaway so year latter when they released the casting for the dark knight rises I was so excited to see Anne been cast as Catwomen. And she did not disappointed me.

I don't care what anyone says, I love Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. Of course Michelle phifer will always be the goat because of the suit(which we'll never see anything like that again with how crazy the fringe left has gotten), how great she looked and acted and the fact that it was basically a Catwoman movie smartly sold as a batman sequel. They're not even worth comparing because of how deliberately different the films they're in are. It would be like comparing Nicholsons joker against the other live action jokers.
I think she has sometimes came across wrongly as a little fake, distant and rehearsed in interviews in the past. Because she really wanted to be liked. And she wanted to be careful and thoughtful about what she said.. She has always been professional.. Which sometimes came off as haughty.. But since she has been a mum she has really relaxed and been more herself.. And open. She didn’t deserve the negativity that she has had in the past x

I don't think that the Joker would be believed if he read that out. Bane came across as far more truthful.

I don't care what anyone says, I love Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. Of course Michelle phifer will always be the goat because of the suit(which we'll never see anything like that again with how crazy the fringe left has gotten), how great she looked and acted and the fact that it was basically a Catwoman movie smartly sold as a batman sequel. They're not even worth comparing because of how deliberately different the films they're in are. It would be like comparing Nicholsons joker against the other live action jokers.

I think she has sometimes came across wrongly as a little fake, distant and rehearsed in interviews in the past. Because she really wanted to be liked. And she wanted to be careful and thoughtful about what she said.. She has always been professional.. Which sometimes came off as haughty.. But since she has been a mum she has really relaxed and been more herself.. And open. She didn’t deserve the negativity that she has had in the past x
