I'm amazed at Baltimore fans that seem to have locked in Flaherty at the end of 2023 and completely skipped over his 2024 season. He's not the same pitcher he was when the O's traded for him (frankly, it looked like a bad trade when it happened because he wasn't that good all season). He was coming off multiple injuries and was still recovering. He was one of the best pitchers in the AL last season, that's why the Dodgers (a very smart organization) wanted him in a trade. I'd be very happy with the O's getting a 29 year old pitcher who had an ERA in the low threes in FA.
@@brandonhurley9691 he changed some things and eliminated a certain pitch. Gonna break him down again more extensively. And he is healthy now unlike end of 2023. Appreciate the comment!
Need Rodriguez to show consistency over a full healthy season. Haven't seen that yet. Need an ace to make the whole rotation better. Today's projected rotation is not a playoff rotation. Team seems to be perfectly ok with being just good enough and hoping for extreme luck rather than just spending a little bit and removing the need to rely on luck.
I’m tired of hearing all of the complaining about bringing in an Ace, they have their Ace. They Drafted Rodriquez to be their future Ace. The future is now. Let him put on his big boy pants and be the leader they need. Worry about the bullpen. Tanner Scott
THANK YOU! This is true! Add both Verlander & Sherzer on 1 year deals…

I agree about Tanner Scott. But it's possible to stack the rotation with multiple ace-type quality pitchers. The problem with relying on Grayson alone in that role is 1. he keeps getting injured (he hasn't pitched over 122 innings in a ML season yet), and 2. other AL East teams already have multiple star pitchers.
I'm thinking about how Mejdal and Elias and buddies with Decosta and the Ravens, whose trademark is drafting well and letting free agents walk for comp picks. Is there analogy to the Orioles getting picks back for losing Burnes this year and Cease next, and keep reloading in the draft? I think I am okay with that as long as they sign their core young talent to long deals.
Queue the Office meme of Michael repeatedly shouting *"No!"* for me. I predicted that trade months ahead (pretty obvious that the Cards were falling apart) as a "smart move" we could make. It happened, and I was like, "Hey, look at me." Then he pitched for us, and I was like, "Actually, don't look me."
Here is what we need to do. Extend the players we have who we want. Trade for pitchers becuase free agents usually don't want to come here. Look for quality pitchers in the draft to grab. Draft up if we need to to get them. Free agents have shown they do not want to come here. We need to develop the talent in our system. Elias needs a draft helper to evaluate potential ace pitchers.
During the rebuild Elias focused primarily on drafting position players. What they ended up with was a surplus of position players that created a logjam at those positions. So to acquire pitching you need to trade from this surplus or sign arms through free agency. This is where Elias has failed. Some will argue. How good is the Burnes trade now? You basically regained the draft pick you gave up in the first place. That's all they have to show for it. Bigger problem will exist in the future. When it comes time to extend the position players they will be traded, because they won't be able to pay them all.
Keep Heston Kjerstadt. He can play at least two positions. Most importantly, he has an impressive swing and he has a very good eye that is part of the way toward Adley. Coby looked lost at the plate last year and has a jerry-rigged swing, but I know it's too early. Grayson will have to show me a full season to earn the plaudits he's getting. The pitching trade options or signings are driving me crazy.
Elias needs to start spending picks on Pitchers!!! The position players are not only filled but blocked. And it's sad the pitchers coming up we have to get excited about are guys like Povich who only throws 92mph. That's how depleted in pitching depth they are. Trading for pitchers with multiple years left like Castillo, Keller or even Gausman is what I'm hoping for....no more 1 year rentals
IF Flaherty is back? I will be buying my first Yankee's hat in 61yrs! Flaherty is a BUM! Flaherty gets CRUSHED in the ALE and the Orioles know this FACT firsthand! Elias will lose a large portion of the fan base and should be FIRED! BTW: That incompetent Coach Hyde should be FIRED as well!
There is room for Kjerstad ! There's no room for Mullins, Mateo, and O'Hearn! Stop trying to trade Kjerstad when they DON''T need too! Flaherty SUCKS in the ALE and Baltimore found this out firsthand! Enough with the Flaherty BS!
Jack Flaherty shouldn’t be an Oriole again
We can only hope that one day the Bauer fanboys will finally give up bringing his name up year after year. Maybe once he turns 40?

I want Max! Not just for the pitchers, just overall winner attitude!

How do they have so much talent when they’re listed as the 24th best farm system when they used to be 1?
They only have Mayo and Basallo left in the top 100.
At one time they had 6 or 7.
@@questtech7148and most have came up, been traded or given away for Trevor Rogers 😂 what an awful trade that was
@cowboysnation3472 Yes, unfortunately, when you rely on trading prospects instead of signing Free agents, you burn through talent quickly.

Please no flat Flaherty. Take a chance on Verlander or Scherzer for a year then go after Gallen or Cease next year.

What do you do with Coby Mayo? Start him at 3B!!!!! We have Holliday some room to grow when he started off... Mayo hits BOMBS.
I pray he does not return.
Terrible mound presence.

Mitch Keller and Mike Burrows would be nice to get and both could be had from the Pirates.
O's should offer Pirates Mayo for J.Jones, sign Mad Max and trade for Alcantara!
Think it would take more than just Mayo to get Jones. Probably need to include Westburg or Heston to get Jones.
Scherzer + a trade for Lopez would be ideal
If Elias wants to reduce the Fan Base he should sign Flaherty! That will certainly do it! And I will buy my first Yankee's hat in 61 yrs!

Trade for Fedde. The Cardinals are just interested in prospects. Cardinals fans didn't care for Flaherty he is headcase
Pablo Lopez
Or they can sign Trevor Bauer and have a top of the rotation pitcher for league minimum

The low budget gang orioles will always suck

We don't want Fagarty

Kremer is a solid 5. He will never be a good 3 or 4.
No Jack Flaherty!!! Hes past his prime and a waste of the Orioles money .
What a joke lol...he was really bad in the AL East
