I would trade Jackson Holiday for Bryce Miller and I actually think if the O's could get Bregman for 3/75 and move Westburg to 2B then Jackson is totally expendable. I think Bregman would be a perfect signing for the O's
What Rip said at the end is crucial, timing. We are all impatient but the GM’s have to know when to make the decisions. We are two weeks out from a Roki Sasaki announcement. If word gets out early of his decision then we will see the pitching trades start to shake out. In my opinion Cease would impact our farm system the least so that is the direction I would target. No matter what conversation you listen to on this subject it is clear to me that no one has great expectations for G Rodriguez this year, or else we would all feel better about him near the top of the rotation. Not having a healthy Bradish for 2025 is a major factor in the direction of this team.
If they were serious, they would go after both Cease and Castillio. But no Cease unless there's an extension involved. We don't need another Burnes one and done. The non touchables are Basallo, McDermott, Povich, Honeycutt, Bradfield Jr. Mounty can be traded no problem. We have a wealth of position players waiting in the minors. He's expendable at this point.
Who is this number 23 for the Nationals that is pictured on the video intro? I'm so confused because the Nats do not have a number 23 and no Nationals pitchers were mentioned in the video?
Mariners fan here. They are not trading anyone other than Castillo simply because of their budget restrictions. Would Mayo and Kerstad be too much for Castillo?
Do something insane: trade Mounty (SEA wants MLB-ready bats), Bradfield Jr., and either Povich/McDermott for Castillo. THEN GO SIGN ALONSO. Adds the big RH pop - with postseason experience - that the O’s say they want. Losing Mounty would suck, but would be offset by the joy of adding Alonso. Feasible? Don’t know. Fun? Yes. Basallo, Westburg, Holliday, and Cowser should be off limits.
Miller went from yr 1 fb++ second year added split finger in plus range. He has a higher ceiling then where he is now. He is almost untouchable. He proven #1 with 5yrs of control. Will take alot.
If no deal with Seattle? I'd offer Miami: Kjerstad and Bradfield Jr. For Alcantara, trade with the Pirates: Mayo for J.Johnson, and Pay Mad Max for 1yr. Than pay Scott!!!
O's should now: Pay for Scott and Scherzer. Trade with Seattle for Miller, trade with the Pirates for J. Jones, and if possible; trade for Alcantara. This brings depth and talent for many yrs.
The Orioles main problem is veteran bat, I would sign Pete Alonso or Bregman and not hesitate to trade anyone except Henderson, Adley , Grayson or Westburg
Orioles should not give up Mayo or Basallo in any trade, Kjerstad would be ok only if you're resigning Santander. Mountcastle should go because he's in his last year, and 1st base is where Adley is going if he continues to not throw well to 2nd base

Mountcastle is under team control for two more seasons. It's Mullins who is in his last season.
Cease is a one-year rental, so I would stay away. Heston and Mayo and others for Castillo is way to much. I would like to see the Orioles keep Heston; I haven't seen anything from Mayo, though the experts may say he has more potential.
I respect yalls take. But your not getting ANY of Seattles young pitching for trash. You want Miller or Woo. The starting point will be Westburg. Castillo will cost you Mayo to start. And personally i dont see what everyone sees in Heston Kjerstad. He really hasnt shown me anything and Seattle is alread loaded in the outfiled. And you forget Castillo is signed for a few more years. If he was on the open market he would be getting 30 a year easily
I like the Castillo for Mayo+ scenario. I think it could work well for both teams. Until Castillo crushes the anemic Mariner offense in the first round of the 25 playoffs. And I agree that the Mariners would rightly ask a ton for Miller or Woo. They are very good right now, controllable, cheap (just like Mariner ownership) and have #1 upside.
Yea u have no clue what you’re saying. Mayo is worth 5x that of Castillo. He’s playing on a fair contract, is 10 years older and only declining, as good as he was 2 years ago. Mayo for Miller or Woo is generally fair.
Seattle? Okay, but not Castillo. Bryce Miller is the way to go, as he's young, talented, inexpensive, and very controllable (no arbitration till 2026, no free agency until 2030).
We all know what we want but why would Seattle give up an already proven pitcher for un proven prospects? Kjerstad and Mayo dont even come close to Miller
Seattle gets: Mountcastle, McDermott, and Beavers or Fabian for Miller! Pirates Get Mayo and the O's get J.Jones. Miami: gets: Bradfield Jr, Trace Bright, Stiven Martinez, and O's get Alcantara.
@@bhock2730 go on any site and you'll see same guy, same comments. It's always "give us your best pitchers and we'll give you these guys, even though it makes no sense." He forgets the other team has a vote in the trade
McClanahan is a long shot alright. Elias is ultra-risk adverse, so, forget it. Cease is the best of the bunch, but he's out. Montgomery is the expectation. 1 prospect and eat the money, done.
Seattle isn’t trading Logan, George, Woo or Miller If we could sign jack, Which he’s clearly improved and understanding more about pitching in the majors and trade for Luis for, I’d prefer Heston over Monty! I personally think with the rotation we’ve is barely top twenty-ish. Add a Luis or Jack alone maybe 14-18th and that’s being generous off the top of my head. Add Jack and Luis and you’ve a real legit rotation and your showing your base, Hey we’re not wasting our youth or window with Gunnar etc. We all know it’s highly unlikely we keep Gunnar sadly
O’s should trade for Bryce Miller, Luis Arraez, and Dylan Cease. Here are some mock trades: O’s receive: Bryce Miller Mariners receive: Mayo, Urias, and Povich/McDermott O’s receive: Luis Arreaz and Dylan Cease Padres receive: Mountcastle, Kjerstad, Brandon Young, and Ethan Anderson
No Cease unless he agrees to an extension. If Boras is his agent, you can forget that.
I would trade Jackson Holiday for Bryce Miller and I actually think if the O's could get Bregman for 3/75 and move Westburg to 2B then Jackson is totally expendable. I think Bregman would be a perfect signing for the O's
Not a good trade but not the craziest concept in the world

Rotation. Cease, Eflin, Grayson, Wells (Povich/Rogers), Sugano. Let's go and get Cease if he agrees to an extension. If not, then bring back Flaherty.

You’re not getting miller without giving up westburg and Holliday and I’ll bet the house on that.
Miller went from yr 1 fb++ second year added split finger in plus range. He has a higher ceiling then where he is now. He is almost untouchable. He proven #1 with 5yrs of control. Will take alot.
Lol
I agree with your premise, but the Orioles aren't giving up Westburg.
I think The M's would consider moving Woo before Miller, at this point.
@@kensilverstone1656and the M's aren't giving up Miller or woo-period.

Please don’t trade mounty. They finally moved the wall in for him
Castill is owed too much $ to give up Kjerstad, Mayo, or Basillo.
O's should now: Pay for Scott and Scherzer. Trade with Seattle for Miller, trade with the Pirates for J. Jones, and if possible; trade for Alcantara. This brings depth and talent for many yrs.
"Trade with Seattle for Miller" Oh ya? With what exactly?
lol cmon Ryan no one is trading a top 10 prospect in baseball (Mayo) for either Castillo and definitely not Cease.
The Orioles main problem is veteran bat, I would sign Pete Alonso or Bregman and not hesitate to trade anyone except Henderson, Adley , Grayson or Westburg
I think i agree...go for it. Sign tony tators and Bregman. Then package holiday and kerjsted for a top end starter. Our offense would be sick!!!;
Orioles should not give up Mayo or Basallo in any trade, Kjerstad would be ok only if you're resigning Santander.

2025 and 2026 FA class are both very much lacking good starting pitching as well. Something has to be done and quickly.
Cease is a one-year rental, so I would stay away. Heston and Mayo and others for Castillo is way to much. I would like to see the Orioles keep Heston; I haven't seen anything from Mayo, though the experts may say he has more potential.
Cease will never re-sign with the Orioles, so don't overpay. Do not trade Kjerstad or Mayo.
How about signing Trevor Bauer! It wouldn't cost you anything financially nor by trading away the farm plus it would be a solid rotation.
Blackballed by the hypocritical mlb. Sadly IF Bauer was "of color", he would be back.
Cease will go to the Cubs if they dont sign Sasaki. You heard it here first. !!
Take a flier on Verlander or Scherzer for a year. Then go for Gallen or Cease next year.
That's common sense.
Make no sense at all to waste anything on another one year rental in Cease

Castillo also cost good money for a 3.75 era guy and if seattle doesnt eat cash. I think mayo straight up is fair.
Castillo at $24m is a bargain. If he was a FA this offseason he would get $28-30m for 5-6 years. Stop it.

Flartey and Gibson welcome back
Just sign Flaherty and keep your young guys
But still go after another professional starter.
Cant do 3 years tho
New owner same old song and dance. We’re in the bargain bin again. Sad af.
Shane can’t stay healthy. Hard pass even if available imo

I don't want any of the young Seattle guys, look at those Home/Away splits
Trade Rogers back to Miami for Alcantara :)
No Washington trash on Baltimores team. Without Burnes you won't win 80 games.
O's won 101 games without Burnes. Try again.
Mayo for Pablo straight up, then sign Max for a year
Castillo is not worth it! Cease is not worth it!
Nepotism ripken couldn't play ball now he is a genius on personnel.give me a break.
You're an asshole
Jarod Jones for Mayo, Westburg and Heston.
I don't think the O's would give up at least two of those guys for this trade.
Lopez or nobody else....
