Well, at least you educated me on all the steps involved to do this myself. I'm sure I will be coming back to this video at some time in the future. Keep the videos coming.
Hi I’ve been doing a motor swap from a Kawasaki 1998 1100 to a 1997 your videos are awesome and have help so thank you I’ve noticed all the differences you’ve talked about with different carburetors I know you’ve mentioned there’s a throttle cable difference from the 97 to the 98 is it a big enough difference that you have to swap the cables as well
The cable needed to be longer so I think the 97 cable would need to be put on the 1998. The carb would rev high because the cable was too short. Maybe there is a way to adjust it or change the cable bracket?
My fuel gauge doesn’t work but my sending unit is all cracked ( hinge can smell gas did the soapy water to verify )the rubber part is that the wires go into do you have a option to just plug or cap the hole in the tank just gonna delete the float sending unit
I am sure you could go to home depot or lowes buy a rubber pipe plug, and cap it. Now having said that your warning light may constantly stay on. I was told by chris carter that a unit off a seadoo will fit over that hole. I never tried it , but he said the seadoo pickups can be used to replace the bad kawasaki ones. It is a tight fit supposedly. The seadoo sending unit and pickups are all in one part.
Your vids have saved me a lot of time and headache on my 96 1100 zxi, so appreciate it
That is why I made them. To help DIY people like you. Thanks.
Great video Kevin! Lots of useful info here
Thanks for watching.

Thanks for watching. I still have 2 engines to leak test and install and the attempt at figuring out this wiring issue.

Sweet thank you are you able to take it out of a zxi without taking the motor out
Wow lots of work for nothing. Sorry that happened. 😔
Yes a whole lot of getting nowhere in this video. Too cold to work on it for now.
