That destination charge is outrageous! To save money, I’d go to the plant and pick it up. I did just that when I went to pick up my travel trailer in Ohio from North Carolina. As much as these auto manufacturers charge for their trucks, they should waive the destination charge.
1335 lbs is what I'd expect out of the absolute top-end truck. That's certainly better than recent years past, when the most expensive versions of trucks had near-useless payloads like 995 lbs or something. As far as unexplained blanks in absolutely loaded trucks go, a lot of manufacturers do that. My best guesses are these: - Special access point(s) for manufacturer-certified shops to get to something electrical - Features not available in this market - Location of an existing feature when sold in a different market - Location for a feature that may become available in subsequent years
JD I agree it is a nice interior space. Also agree with you on the center console computer screen. I think they should have pushed it more forward like you said.
Any luxury trucks out there where you can fold down the back seats and have access to the bed from inside like the old Caddy Escalade EXT? At least a window pass through? Man I miss that truck!
The blank you see there with all the controls next to the door is for the regular models for the manual headlight leveling control there's six manual leveling settings when you're towing I own a 22 tundra Limited TRD OFFROAD in Canada and that's why it's blank because it's Auto leveling lights in the 1794 platinum and Capstone oh and let me not forget TRD Pro 😅
The blank is where I have the manual adjustment for my headlights on the SR Also, my payload on my SR is the same, so the air suspension must help increase the payload on the higher trim
i have to agree and disagree, but i have a few points of my own.. the capstone does not have the option to have the trd off road package and i am not a fan of the auto running boards. i prefer the predator steps . and the windshield is available with the 1794 addition.. in my eyes you can get a fully loaded 1794 addition for 79875.45 i mean fully loaded i pick mine up sat and have been waiting for 5 months i ordered mine with the 3” factory lift and the dealer has the rims and tires ready im selling the factory ones… people please do you homework, don’t waste your money on the cap go for the 1794 loaded version
What I love: 12v outlet, inner lighting trim, seat trim. What I really dislike: at the end of the day, it’s a freikin truck. The practical nature to me is important. Not having a steel bumpers big. A small rear end on a 2020 might be a catastrophic collapse of the back end for a 24 capstone. It takes away from the durable feel. The screens way too big and sitting in my field of view. Prefer the era of screens that didn’t try to be a Tesla and distract me from driving. Analog dials are better, debate me. Anything physical that accomplishes the same is better. When and why did we decide removing the dials was the way to go? I feel like real truck owners don’t want an overpriced piece of tech, we want a truck
It is a beautiful truck and having owned one, i can tell you that the fuel economy is horrible. Your f-450 probably does better. I hope toyota has corrected the issues with them now. The only benefit to the hybrid is increased horsepower and torque.
The new Tundras have fit and finish issues with interior seats, excessive rattles, and window trim issues. I own one and have had it the dealer often chasing problems on a 70k truck. Powertrain is great and overall like the truck but would not buy one again.
I wonder if many of those issues have been resolved in the 2024 models. I feel this truck has good fit and finish compared to the 2022 that I drove 2 years ago.
TRD Jon on TH-cam just posted a video about rattling window on his new one and the same seat problem mine had. Mine is a 2023 Platinum. I don’t think anything is fixed.
All those bells and whistles and it still can’t tow for crap. Maybe a nice single axle Winnie. Save $3500 and get a loaded Denali. At least when the batteries blow up you won’t have to worry about replacing the truck, cause you’ll go with it.
As F150 owner the "best of the best Tundra" doesn't impress me much. It doesn't even have 4WD Auto just Hi/Lo. Anyone driving in slick conditions appreciates 4WD Auto. I have 3 memory seats settings not 2 and massaging seats. The console area doesn't impress me compared to the Ford's with work space. 400W power is a joke compared to up to 7.2KW on the Fords. Does it have an App you can start, lock/unlock from your phone? No backup assist. Does it have locking differential? This would be like the mid level XLT Ford. It just doesn't even compare. Sorry.....
I am also an F150 owner and I agree with some of your comments. To me, the real differentiator is not the luxury package but the reliability you get with a Toyota. I have wished I bought the Tundra since about a month after I bought the F150……Ford’s reliability isn’t even in the same ballpark as Toyota.
I’m probably not too smart arguing that a Ford is more reliable than a Toyota, but I think Ford does have the reliability of their trucks perfected as much as any brand. It’s their bread and butter, and I’ve owned several f150s, and never had a single issue. I realize that I am a small sample size.
My perfect tundra...
1. Crewmax.
2. 6ft bed
3. 4.7 Old School tundra v8.
4. 2.4kw power bed outlet.
5. Cbi steel front bumper with tow hooks.
6. Power side steps.
7. Power tonneau cover
8. Power up and down tailgate.
9. Skid plates
10. Black emblems, no chrome.
Good luck with that
The #1 feature of this truck will be the price. The full-tilt truck is $6k-10k cheaper than a Big 3 truck with all the same stuff.
Great review, great truck! For the record, my 2019 Ram 1500 limited has heated and ventilated rear seats. Great feature.
The RAM is a much nicer truck too.
I prefer a much simpler truck, I like the older Tundras for example.
That destination charge is outrageous! To save money, I’d go to the plant and pick it up. I did just that when I went to pick up my travel trailer in Ohio from North Carolina. As much as these auto manufacturers charge for their trucks, they should waive the destination charge.
You cant do that with cars.
One bad ass truck…….like a Lexus!
I think this truck is absolutely perfect! The perfect color as well. Liked & subscribed.

Ram does heated and ventilated rear seats on their upper package
The Tundra is still the best in the midsize truck market.
Midsize?
JD I agree it is a nice interior space. Also agree with you on the center console computer screen. I think they should have pushed it more forward like you said.
Please look at payload again. The yellow sticker is an anecdote worth noting.
Can you lower the rear window to have a pass through for a 10’ pvc or 2x4?
Maybe the blank is for if you want to add anything extra such as off road lights or fog lights
Totally agree the screen needs to be positioned closer to windshield.
fyi if you add the anti glare screen cover it helps with the overall visual you get
Can you use the e battery power in the City, for example? Im new to the Hybrid.
Beautiful Truck + Toyota quality. A formidable commination.
Any luxury trucks out there where you can fold down the back seats and have access to the bed from inside like the old Caddy Escalade EXT? At least a window pass through? Man I miss that truck!
THAT'S A CAPSTONE MY FRIEND !

Excellent pickup truck! I'd buy it; even though, I'm a domestic vehicle type guy!
Tundras are made in Texas.
Love the truck but, at the end of the day you cannot beat the fuel mileage on the gmc 1500 duramax..
In city driving I doubt it but in road-trip you’re right 😊🤷♂️
The tundra is high teens in the city. My Duramax got 20s in the city and 30s on highway. Diesel is more efficient.
ohh i forgot you don’t get the crawl feature either,my point i’m saying i guess is ,why would you buy the capstone and not the 1974 2024 version???
i have to agree and disagree, but i have a few points of my own.. the capstone does not have the option to have the trd off road package and i am not a fan of the auto running boards. i prefer the predator steps . and the windshield is available with the 1794 addition.. in my eyes you can get a fully loaded 1794 addition for 79875.45 i mean fully loaded i pick mine up sat and have been waiting for 5 months i ordered mine with the 3” factory lift and the dealer has the rims and tires ready im selling the factory ones… people please do you homework, don’t waste your money on the cap go for the 1794 loaded version
Nice looking truck

Does it switch out of hybrid mode in reverse? If not that could be a big problem towing!
What is the USB Black cable inserted in the dash. Stands out as strange.
It is a beautiful truck and having owned one, i can tell you that the fuel economy is horrible. Your f-450 probably does better. I hope toyota has corrected the issues with them now. The only benefit to the hybrid is increased horsepower and torque.
Can you share how horrible, please?
@@forget-me-notlawncare9821 12-13 in town and 19 highway.
Are the seats comfortable? Please compare to other brands’ comfort.
Thats a nice suv
Does it have a HUD?
I think in most humans world, the truck bumper is always a step regardless of material design
It needs a larger capacity / stronger hybrid battery which would increase fuel economy.
Does this truck has adaptive cruse control?
If not , then it’s not what you claim.
No boom box for tailgating
It does
If Starsky and Hutch was made today, this would by Huggy’s ride
We like to play with the tailgate button 😅
The resolution on the gauges look super outdated. The 2011 F150 had a clearer screen
Crazy how this thing is 100k

Laramie longhorn limited , by far the nicest truck interior and the rest aren’t even close … possibly even the nicest vehicle interior
JD, can this model carry a slide in camper?
I can almost guarantee the answer is no. Hi spec trucks have limited cargo capacity.
With that payload number, a very light one.
The blank is for nitro. lol
I thought that the 2020+ Chevy HD trucks were ugly but this Tundra takes the grand ugly trophy.
Beautiful, but that payload 😢
That's unfortunately the same with all ultra high trim 1/2ton trucks.
All those bells and whistles and it still can’t tow for crap. Maybe a nice single axle Winnie. Save $3500 and get a loaded Denali. At least when the batteries blow up you won’t have to worry about replacing the truck, cause you’ll go with it.
I know it's a "high trim" truck but having a payload capacity lower than a Honda Pilot is absurd.
Dont like the white interior
It has white seats. Come on, man.
Have a blessed day Jesus loves you
And he is Wonderful 👍

I have '18 Platinum with 126k miles and just do scheduled maintenance.....as reliable as it gets.
A truck without an 8 foot bed is not really a truck.
Exactly. My tundra with the 5 ‘5 bed is my family do it all vehicle. So what it’s my money. Don’t need an 8 foot bed.
1300 lb payload=useless truck
Weird flex but ok
Say's who
Says who @@paulrodrigues9603
I don’t care for the color of the interior. I prefer your GMC, I bet it can out tow this Toyota
I think the interior is hideous looking, it's super ugly and the white is going to get nasty looking in about a year. No thanks.
