Looks and sounds pretty great. I really wish they went with the vintage logo on the headstock though like on MGK's original. That cheap looking "Schecter Diamond Series" logo is just insulting next to a $1000 price tag. I get that's just aesthetics, and specs IMO are great here, but still...if it's a signature artist series, they should've gotten that right. And I know MGK has several PTs and some have this headstock logo, but I'd be willing to bet those were to promote this eventual release. I also have no qualms with this being an import guitar, but I expect the price to reflect that. Correct the headstock logo and charge $650, and then I think Schecter would've had a winner on their hands. I think the new Billie Joe Armstrong signature from Epiphone is a better buy for pop punk fans. This Schecter may arguably be better, but Epiphone really only cut a couple of corners with Armstrong's and met a much more reasonable price point for us poor pop punk fans.
Nevermind how good the instrument might be, and in fact I actually quite like it, but the fact that someone like MGK gets a goddamn SIGNATURE GUITAR is pretty sad.
Tbh I think it's a brilliant move. Rock and guitars are compared to 50 years ago more niche than mainstream. Giving people like MGK, Shaun Mendez and other pop artists signature instruments will make rock and guitar more attractive to young people than for example the 20th Misha Mansoore signature Pickup. And after all music and instruments are a business.

People love to hate, don’t they? I love how unbiased you are, Fluff. If people are willing to pay $1200 for their Tom Delonge signature (as I did), then they have no right whatsoever to complain about this guitar. Cool, but is it $150 more better then a Silver Sky SE? The silver sky pretty much moped the floor with the fender player strat in dylantalkstone video, could it go above its weight class and knock out the Machine Gun Kelly? People say 1k is much, but i have a feeling you get a lot of guitar for this money compared to say even a Silver Sky SE perhaps? John Mayer tko'd a no named mexican strat, and now is going up against MGK for ultimate mass produced signature guitar? who will win? is this even a fair fight? stay tuned...
Nearly a grand for an imported guitar w low rent minimal components? Safe bet you’re paying more for a genre refugee’s name than the instrument….is this a meta-level ridiculous reverb listing?
I was actually getting started with " of course its a freaking simple guitar, its MGKs Guitar!" and so on, but you got me with fact, that guys like him or like Tiny Taylor make the young pick up the guitar like for me it was kirk hammett back in the day or EVH or Jimi for other people before... OF COURSE there is no comparison in skill set guitarwise between EVH , Jimi and the modern "Idols" I mentioned, but who knows if not one of the kids who got inspired by MGK / Swift might chose the right path at the end and starts to produce proper music🙂 for me personally, no one takes "my music" from me, so every new guitar player is welcome to the family👍🏻
i didnt pick up guitar because of mgk. but holy shit did i start playing all the time because of him. i went from playing maybe once or twice a week to playing both his albums cover to cover daily. theres something so fun about the simple energetic vibe he has.
This didn‘t feel like a proper unbiased review. No words about the non branded pickups or hardware? In that price range? What about the fretwork or the fretboard edges or the material? Does it really feel it‘s worth it‘s price? This guitar is clearly overpriced in my opinion and shouldn‘t cost more than 549,- compared to whats on the market. I‘m a long time fan of the channel, but a review in this kind of style is unfortunately too shallow nowadays. If I really wanted to learn more about that guitar I would really like to get more info about the build quality and an honest, unbiased opinion if it is worth the price or what other options are out there, that serve the same purpose genre or sound-wise.
Okay, follow up comment after watching the video. I do like the matte black on the neck. And I know it plays well that wasn't going to be a concern. Most guitars these days play well, even the cheap ones. I'm not a fan of the color pink... even as a punk pop guitar. But you said a Kelly style bridge... is that as in machine gun kelly style bridge? How did MGK get his own bridge?!? I don't like the way it looks. The guitar is really not my cup of tea but im sure it play fantastic. Probably better than most of my guitars lol but to me, I need a guitar that just screams at me to play it. This is certainly screaming at me lol as you said it is a very loud color... but it's not saying "play me." And the soft rounded edges.. I'm good. Schecter is a good company so im certain its a quality product if this is ur thing.
Hard to compare when at 1000$ you can get shell pink Charvel Dk 24 ... Which blows this away ... Pink like bubble gum medicine .. but around 500$ seems it would hit more
I actually kinda like it, but due to its lack in versatility, I wouldn't actively seek it out. Especially for $1000. I appreciate the "lean and mean" approach, but for me, "lean and mean" means one guitar that does it all, which would mean at least two buckers with coil splitting options. Short of that, surely it was well made and sounds fantastic. It's geared for people who just wanna go rock out and that's about it.
Just an FYI, having your name involved with a specific brand doesn't not make it a signature model. Actual effort goes into creating a guitar that matches specifications unique to the artist. Simply painting telecaster pink does not make it unique.
Opinion on MGK aside, I like the guitar, however I’m not sure about the black stripes. Those aren’t for me but I love single pickup guitars, I blame blink and my delonge strat for that…
this thing is pretty dope. too flashy for me, but it's probably going to go up in value. I have one and suggest everyone else snag one while it's still around.
As much as it annoys me that MGK has a signature, im sure a lot of kids that are MGK fans will end up picking it up, and it will serve them well. Contrast that with another schecter the Syn Gates custom, which I know tons of kids have picked up. That guitar is a lot to handle, and not great for your single guitar needs; Floyd Rose is a pain, gloss neck is hard to play, pickups are SUPER hot. The MGK one seems very playable, very versatile, simple in every aspect that the Sun custom is complicated. I hope it means a lot of people will start playing guitar and loving it. But the price tag of $1000 is absurd, literally only marked up because of the name. It should be a $400 guitar.
Hey Schecter I'm a schecter player let's make a signature guitar it's going to be a Drop C monster with an evertune and crazy wiring for maximum tonal options. 🤷Meh worth a shot.

I never use neck pickup - would love more single pickup
Esp ltd black metal, arctic metal, alexi sigs, m1... just look at esp. Their leftover parts are what Schecters are made of. Lol.
Gimme a single pickup model… that is just the neck pickup.
The only way I'd use this guitar would be as a fuel for the fireplace or maybe I'd make a toilet seat out of it
Lol
I wish this guitar was more affordable. Because I really would love to have it. Great sound and minimalist design
Wow, this is gonna stir the waters. Love how Fluff rolls!
Stir the pepto
It’s stirring all right
Seems like they really made a solid guitar, definitely right up my alley
I like the vibe of the guitar and the color actually looks really nice to me, I just wish it wasn’t $1000 because that seems overpriced for what you get even w/ all the specs, it would probably sell more if the price was at least $500
looks like it could be a hello kitty guitar with a few added stickers ...just saying hello kitty
I am about Fluffs age and I have never even heard of Machine Gun Kelly.
You have my eternal and sincere envy
Crazy to me how many of you are saying MGK is bad. Like okay odd coming from the people who grew up getting told rock was “just noise” and “not real music”.
Why are there barely any videos on this guitar?
Love Schecter’s, but No Way would I pay a $1,000 for it! I could deal with the pink, but wouldn’t be in my top 25 colors. I just can’t get over the price!! It is a cool guitar guitar though!
I could see $750, but $1,000 is definitely steep
$350-$400 guitar, it's pepto pink too. Hard to take it serious, the 12 year old kids probably love it.
I suppose it’s more of trying to stand out from people like yourself.
I know pretty much nothing about MGK but that does look like a pretty cool guitar.
MGK wishes he could make his guitar sound like that.
I feel polarized
I don't think people hate the guitar. They hate the guy.
Oh boy here we go…..
Just bought one! Didn’t know it was MGK, in fact I had never heard of him!
Loved the colors, loved the neck and loved the way it sounded. I played it through an Orange 30 tube head with a 112 cab at Music Villa in Bozeman MT.
Love the simplicity love the tele shape!
Real men play pink axes
Dudes hating on this guitar really have a Tom Delonge Strat they paid way too much for.
It's a pink Telecaster with one humbucker, I don't understand why people shed so much hate on it. Pink seems to be pretty popular & the black binding on the body looks great!
@Trent Walker That's something that shouldn't matter. It's not like his name is on it in big letters & he doesn't have a gigantic logo representing it's his signature guitar.
Omg. Mgk gets a signature while actual guitarists go without. If anything could make me hate him more its this!
Thats what i said. Yeah its a decent axe but there are so many excellent guitar players who deserve a sig then mgk. Its a cash grab. They new it would sale well. But that being said it still seems like a decent guitar. But mgk gets a sig? Can he even play guitar?
@@codysroom6303 has actually decent and one in the spotlight . No point giving people who are good but no fanbase a signature , coming from a business mindset .
At the end of the day he's playing live shows and getting people into rock / guitars ; he still deserves it . Don't need to be the next Van Halen to get something of your own .
I can hear that guitar screaming "Hello Kitty"
Did he trade in his Hello Kitty guitar? (I actually have a Schecter Tele and it’s great)
I love this guitar and would 100% play it on stage, but it is way too expensive for what it actually provides..
just get a used one for like 500-600 on reverb.
@@andy_182 do they ship to Germany?
Bying a expensive guitar for pop punk is so stupid
This guitar is an excellent representation of its artist: simple, basic, and a format that's been used for decades. Congrats, Schecter! Well done!
Hey, Schecter guitars are awesome! Don't judge a whole brand off one stupid toy.
The Sausage King of Chicago
Who knew that a white rapper commenting on the looks of a then minor would eventually get schecter to reward him with a signature guitar.
I bought one I have never listened to MGK I bought it cause it’s crazy pink and just digged it ! I use it for two songs in our set just to have a crazy looking guitar.. also I found $1000 awesome most of my guitars are over $3-4 grand so to me this is a cheap guitar !..edit year or so later i still play this guitar live for most of the set… I haven’t changed a thing …it kills it
It has barbs and thorns on the neck to make it hurt when you play it.
Fluff: "if your asthetic is simplicity while being loud at the same time..."
hm, makes sense. MGK seems to be kind of an obnoxious simplton XP
Grown men that refuse to play pink guitars are hilarious.
he should play slipknot on it
Oof nice
I have no issue with MGK or him having a sig, but if you would have told me even 2 years ago MGK would have a signature tele I would think you were crazy lol
Just to clarify, the kill switch is engaged when it’s in the up position, correct?
Who is MGK, and how did Pink get a signature Schecter?
You sir, are a gentleman, and a scholar.
I actually really like MGK and he is one big reason why I want to start playing guitar. I always wanted to play an instrument and one day it just hit me and I knew I want to play guitar. Is this a good beginner model? Also love the color SO much!
Nobody hates the guitar. Just the dinglehopper who’s name is on it.
The first time I've ever heard a decent sound come out of that guitar!
More importantly, who is on fluffs tee shirt? And where can I get one??
I like the black and pink, I like the simple electronics. What I don't like is the lack of tone pot and the price inflated by the branding.
What song did you play as a demo?!
Ahhh!!! Schecter!!!! Why have you betrayed us all?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Looks cool!
Would you buy this guitar Fluff and not as a joke?
Nevermind how good the instrument might be, and in fact I actually quite like it, but the fact that someone like MGK gets a goddamn SIGNATURE GUITAR is pretty sad.
Tbh I think it's a brilliant move. Rock and guitars are compared to 50 years ago more niche than mainstream. Giving people like MGK, Shaun Mendez and other pop artists signature instruments will make rock and guitar more attractive to young people than for example the 20th Misha Mansoore signature Pickup. And after all music and instruments are a business.
Why? He released a pretty good radio pop punk album. All the songs are fun and catchy. Yeah he’s a douche but what major pop punk star wasn’t in the early 2000s?
If they come with more stuff like this, it's not going to be a problem.
@@shatteredskies8292 .. Apparently your side the fence of idiocy...
@@fbrefeld7320 I'm with you. If it gets a kid to pickup a guitar, then fantastic. Some guitar players are so concerned with image, and their gear, and how fast they can play, they forget about having fun playing music.
People love to hate, don’t they?
I love how unbiased you are, Fluff. If people are willing to pay $1200 for their Tom Delonge signature (as I did), then they have no right whatsoever to complain about this guitar. I’m going to get one myself, and I truly think that he’s an amazing musician, unlike others.
Remember, you don’t need to be a prolificnshredder to be an amazing musician. He’s can play guitar, and uses it to ENHANCE his music, as a MUSICIAN AND WRITER, not a GUITARIST.
Everyone can talk all the shit in the world, I think his music is incredible, and I give him A LOT of credit for having people pick up guitar because of his music.
Guys guys its $1000 because we all want it for the memes not because hes good or the guitar being good for that matter
I love that guitar. I personally don't purchase signatures though. I just dislike having someones name attached to it no matter how much I like the guitar.
I wonder how MGK would feel if he saw that Fluff's demo song is better than ANYTHING he'll EVER do.
Probably not much as he sips on water worth more than Fluff's life lol :P
I am a fan of that guitar. I really dont know alot about mr kelly and really dont care. I mostly play on the neck pickup so a single pickup guitar is something i think would expand my writing
What did you use to get the tone from the intro?
where can I order this since I'm living in Canada? I can't seem to find anything
mgk signature is a slap in the face to all the shedders out there who will never see a signature bc theyre not a celeb dbag
Sphincter is the perfect name for what he plays!
Exactly
Proof that signature models became a joke at this point.
I knew your sentiment was true the day I read the words "Rick Beato Signature Les Paul" 🤮🤮🤮
You are entitled to your opinion but I disagree in this case
Yea not gonna lie mgk inspired me to play guitar so I could play his music, but ain’t no way I’m paying a band for a guitar
i didnt pick up guitar because of mgk. but holy shit did i start playing all the time because of him. i went from playing maybe once or twice a week to playing both his albums cover to cover daily. theres something so fun about the simple energetic vibe he has.
It's a kickass guitar for sure. Not my thing but someone will love it
They should have released this in a variety of neon colors to reach that niche market of collectors.
The only way I’d buy that jokes signature guitar is if it came with Megan Fox.
Lol
He said telly style
@@nnelsonfatsurfer258 Thank you lol because I was like wtf.
The Pasadena is a wildly underrated pickup
I would buy one of these, put a nazgul on it and replace the killswitch with a tone knob.
Hard to compare when at 1000$ you can get shell pink Charvel Dk 24 ... Which blows this away ... Pink like bubble gum medicine .. but around 500$ seems it would hit more
Wtf no fluff oh hell no fluff damn bro
Not sure I'd go in at a grand! One pup, bolt neck, simple finish all screams 5 or 6 bills tops on this one.
Woops... sorry this isn't live...
Those aren’t for me but I love single pickup guitars, I blame blink and my delonge strat for that…
not big on the pink, no hate tho, would be nice in white or red maybe black with white accents or red accents. Sounds great through your setup tho.
Don't like MGK, but he has a good eye for nice guitars, this is a beautiful instrument.
Props to the guy for that.
this thing is pretty dope. too flashy for me, but it's probably going to go up in value.
