I just stumbled across this channel, thank you for opening my eyes on the engineering behind doing a proper installation as well as tuning it. There's a lot of aspects I never even thought about, such as delays, that I'll now use when I ultimately tackle my sound system. I look forward to checking out your other content.
Dean / Fernando, I been watching your video's for almost 2 years now. I'm infatuated with the level of details, knowledge, and technical understanding you guy possessed. I love how you guys keep up with the latest and greatest technologies. With that being said I need "911" on my Suburban but can never get through for an appointment. Please help
That wire management is OP. Making a mount like that and adding the holes for zip-ties... I'll have to steal that idea for my next strobe light install.
Simplicity in sound, Matt Schaeffer and many more do much nicer stuff. Dean and Fernando do very basic installs but they do them technically perfect. How it should be as a professional.
I did custom installs back in the late 90's. I even had a couple vehicles in car audio magazines. Its amazing how much has changed with the quality of install option with modern tool. CNC, Laser, and more! nice work guys
I enjoyed how forwardly disappointed Dean was toward the reasons this is a legit 911. He was aggressive but not offensive. Found it very entertaining and refreshing. All in all, excellent info all around
@ril850 This kind of stuff adds up quicker than most people realize, particularly if you're having it done by a legitimate, professional installer. When I ordered my 2020 F150, I got the cheapest sound system available because I knew eventually I'd be upgrading. The installation should be done this afternoon. The only factory component that wasn't replaced was the sync 3 head unit. Just went with an amp that can process the factory signals properly (JL audio vx1000/5i). Can't wait to hear how it sounds.
Just subscribed, educational and professionally entertaining. On the installs i did on my own cars i've also always hooked the ground side of all components to the battery. Even without exact knowledge it just seemed to me it was better then using the body of the car.
The frame is fine, or even the body, assuming you've done the big 3 upgrade. There may be a tiny measurable difference in resistance but it surely doesn't matter on these low power installs this shop does. A lot of these systems are under are around 1K watts. I do both because I'm on 5K watts and that's overkill IMO
With regards to the F.A.S.T. Rings, I've found I have better results by attaching the outer ring to the door panel and then rolling the outer edge outside of the speaker surround. No trimming needed.
I also have Focal front and rear on my Raptor. Can I buy the Focal logo on the speaker grills and the Focal ribbon logo on the B&O logo? That looks awesome!
Wow!! I have that crossover and it looks super hard to use. I live in California, Bakersfield. Do you know of an experienced stereo shop that can tune my vehicle?? Great video I watched all of it!!
I wonder what you guys would have thought of my road kill application to my 99 Acura .. inside the door toward the outside skin..inside the door toward the car interior ..inside the door panel and against the surface the panel rests against ... super ..maybe excessive coverage ?? but as I applied it the labor was free
@@ricardomolina4605 yeah I did the entire interior of my car that way in the back seats also only thing I haven't done like that is the trunk where I only did the floor and the sides I have not removed the carpeting from the trunk lid and applied any of it there but I don't have a vibrating license plate like so many bass heads do so I'm satisfied with it
What do you guys do for Ford chimes. For example when door is open with key in ignition or while backing up. Chimes normally come from door speakers. However mine currently plays from a small speaker by my gauge cluster ever since i installed a 4 channel amp.
Hey guys, any chance at getting a small video on bass knobs? Us normal folks don't have a laser machine to make custom mounts but I figure with a drill and some screws I can do something special with mine!
love to watch your videos, how much a setup like this will cost?, im talking about labor, i'll include amps, subs, speakers and wiring! just to have a number in my mind

Am I wrong but isn’t the dsp kind of pointless in this application with the zen having those capabilities or is there something the zen can’t do to that needs the audio control unit
Just got my 2021 with the B&O unleashed option (tweeters in the headrest and headliner). Super dissapointed in it, planning an overhaul so timing on this video is perfect! Going toslink, don't you lose the front to back fading? Also, do you prefer passive xovers to active xovers in a dsp?
pink noise and a rta to tune your stereo and you turn the subs up as high as you feel like without clipping of course. Stock stereos are garbage so I wouldn't bother tuning them
I'm having an issue with my memory wire after I accidentally put power to a sub I blew my memory in my last stereo got a new one but my acc wire seems to loose power I the morning and sometimes during the day I can't seem to figure out what's going on with the acc wire when I move my fuse for the acc it comes back on if it does not I move my ground terminal and then everything works again buy every morning seems I have to move my terminal wire.
@@hifiman4562 I actually found a short with my o2 sensor wire touching the motor and after I fixed that it is now saving memory no more moving my terminals either.
If you care enough about the sound to ask, it's not going to be good enough for you. You know you're going to end up going aftermarket, so save the money on the factory "premium" stuff. Put the money toward your aftermarket setup. Just from my experience.

There are so many vehicles out there, I don't think it's worth it to manufacture so many different custom things like this when he's doing both installs and the TH-cam channel. I could maybe see someone using his previous files to print some things that might fit your specific application (car/speaker combo). But then again you can see in this video how much work it is to make a single bracket fit as well as he wants it to fit. Too much time for too little money.
@@qcsam9375 you don't do it for all, just some of the more popular. Like f150s. Sounds good audio does that. Or have templates ready to make then on demand (which they have loads of them saved)

Looks like how my DSP settings were when I took my car to the shop. Thought I had a full tune, they called me and said it had NO tune on it 😂😂. Kinda infuriating when u pay that much money for an install
Its really sad seeing those JL amps being shamed in this manner BC used properly they would out perform that single amp. Not that that Focal is a bad amp just that with those 2 JL's ran correctly he would have been blown away
