I can't say that I really like the watches. But it is companies like Richard Mille that are admired and loved for revolutionising the world of horology.
I agree, I don’t really like all his watches, and that just maybe because , I am not use to his illustrious designs, but I do appreciate and admire his impeccable craftsmanship and omg his story of how he finally decided to go and create his own brands, after working for other wealthy and famous ppl. It’s a bit like myself now, i’ve been working for other retail companies selling luxury fashions for years. It’s time I launched my own brand now. And that’s exactly what I am working on now.
I love the Creative expression and passion too dare to be Creatively different!!! Abstract art at it's FINEST its a HUGE WIN And he WON... Only the Creatively Changllend would totally understand fluently
I shouldn’t have watched that; now I want 1! A life well lived. After earlier failures in the industry he preserved and is now one of the leading lights.
I'm not very fond of these over the top watches.... but the philosophy behind them is very compelling. I might be a boring guy, but I do understand why they're loved. I like this guy. He's not establishment.
Supreme craftsmanship and technology. Millenspends a fortune on research and development. He was the first to successful set diamonds in a forged graphite watch. Each piece is like a one of a kind race care. Exclusivity and rarity and expertise are why they are so valued
I can be difficult to "get the brand." I do, and those who don't have not given their minds a chance to see what has been created. With breakthrough brands and watches they are usually reviled at first. Look at AP and the Royal Oak, Hublot and its Big Bang, and Mille with his tourneau shape. Each is disliked, accepted and then desired.
What's wrong with FM? Still one of the best watchmakers in the industry holding several unmatched world records and still producing mesmerizing watches. Now he's just focusing on highest quality rather than quantity.
Nice watch collection, especially Richard Mille, ; by the way AP developed luxury stainless steel watch (Royal Oak) with help of Gerald Genta; and AP lost the luxury stainless steel segment monopoly when Patek hijacked Gerald Genta to design for Patek similar steel sport watch for them and named the watch Nautilus. So AP developed new sport model with Richard Mille, to counter Patek catching up game. AP sharing same research and development facility ; movement technology with Richard Mille and the new watch name is named Richard Mille, as if the name remains AP Richard Mille, ; the Patek pirates will hijack Richard Mille to design similar watch for them. This concept and relationship is similar to Nike and Jordan. So Richard Mille is actually a 20 years old luxury brand backed by a century old watch expert.
You make watches for the super rich..i really wonder if they give any shit about complocations or movement..for.them your watch is like a checklist , so well done on marketing
I wonder how many AP, PP, Rolex owners give a shit about their watches, other than a brand name on a dial. Yes, vast majority of RM owners I've seen appreciate every little detail in the watch.
Most important qestions of all: Why are your watches so incredibly ugly? When will you finally make a watch that does not make one want to vomit when having to look at it?
Yep why not? If you have the money and if I had the money I would buy one, they look fantastic but be careful where you go wearing one of these babies.
One of the very few people in the world who can build a silly watch and charge way over what it is worth. Yes yes I know.. People buy them. It doesn't make these folks very smart though. I saw a RM sell for $ 1.3 million. Now people.. think about this for a moment. $ 1.3 million. Let's us put this into a bit of a realistic perspective. This is a super nice cabin in the woods. A Humvee, several really super nice Suisse watches and money left over in the bank. Richard Mille is a smart buisness man who knows where to find suckers to pay a premium for nothing all that special. Can anyone tell me where he is producing something truly exceptional and ground breaking? If you believe that he does then you need to search out other designs. A $1.3 million dollar watch that you accidentally bump into a door handle , or scratch while wearing it. How much is it worth then? My opinion but there are much better usage for that much money. You truly have to be super rich and live the lifestyle of the rich and shameless. Like I said opinions vary and this is just how I personally fell about Richard Mille and his Happy Meal watches.
So they're expensive due to R&D costs, wasted materials etc. I'm wondering where the money for the huge sponsorship and rent of boutiques across the world comes from. He only sells less than 4000 watches a year and they're not over priced? Remember they cost what they do because it costs thousands to develop them lol. No, they're expensive because they're over priced, thats how you pay for sponsorship and boutique rent....RM plastic is the same price as GShock plastic.
Funny thing is Casio believes some of their G Shocks are worth in the thousands. Casio has made a killing in a area of the market that needed a tough while cost effective design. Something everyone can afford. But their heads are starting to match their egos. And they now are producing watches that throw them into an area reserved for brand name mechanical watches. And I will never ever consider any quartz watch to be worth that kind of money. To me it is like purchasing a Rolex Oysterquartz. Why? Buy a Bulova precisionist and have a much more accurate watch that doesn't break the bank. If you want to spend that much on a watch than stick with mechanical. Funny how many quartz watches can just all the sudden have issues durring a battery change. Even old brands like Seiko and Citizen have suffered issues with quartz movements. When you take a watch to the service center and this happens they usually throw away the movement and replace it with a new one. That doesn't speak to me as being a timepiece worth thousands. I laugh when I see a Suisse brand in a quartz where they jewel (or pearl ) the movement. It is like bedazzling a turd.
Severely overpriced timepieces pop out from nowhere without any history nor creativity nor any portfolios. Partner with AP and so call famous people to magnify the brand. Definite no no brand name for me.
There has to be a new brand to come up with new interesting stuff, so what if they are young? Not overpriced, it's worth what people are willing to pay for it. You can say something is overpriced if you're comparing two cotton t-shirts. AP is amazing, yes, but they are riding the Royal Oak train for how many years now? If it weren't for that (amazing) Genta design they would be out of business now, and it seems they will gladly grab some money (by making movements) from someone who is not affraid to risk doing crazy stuff in the watch world :)
I can't say that I really like the watches. But it is companies like Richard Mille that are admired and loved for revolutionising the world of horology.
totally agree and wish the other "big legacy" brands would understand this...
I agree, I don’t really like all his watches, and that just maybe because , I am not use to his illustrious designs, but I do appreciate and admire his impeccable craftsmanship and omg his story of how he finally decided to go and create his own brands, after working for other wealthy and famous ppl. Ooh LA la, what a beautiful craftsmanship and art is invested in the brand , I love the mechanism and dynamic of them.
I can be difficult to "get the brand." I do, and those who don't have not given their minds a chance to see what has been created. With breakthrough brands and watches they are usually reviled at first. Look at AP and the Royal Oak, Hublot and its Big Bang, and Mille with his tourneau shape. great insight. loving the brand more and more! good job!
As far as I am aware the guy is paying taxes in France and did not set up a construction to avoid taxes. Great respect and admiration.
Really ?? If it’s the case than respect ✊. He is at least not like the owner of LVMH who choose to move to Belgium because of taxes.
Switzerland, not France.
Another reason why the brand is cool is because he's a cool stylish dude.
Lmao the RM69 with random sexual messages. Richard you are a Legend
It’s pathetic - I love the brand and everything about it but that’s a serious no no
The weight of the RM 27-02 is under 20gr. It´s amazing!
Richard Mille is a beautiful and smart brand.
Interesting guy
but, can you build one that isnt the size of a city block ?
declassified1 RM 67-02
It’s not for u
Go on your innovation work
Nice seiko flight Master 👍
Goat. 👏
What is the yellow watch that he is wearing?
Great interview. Well done. Love the colours of the Congo watch!
Dont put in garbage. Send it to me.
Used to hate Richard Mille, now I really, really want one!! Too bad there goes quite a few day dates and submariners on one RM.... :/
Buy a first copy
@@DA-yk7wf lol shut up
Like round one he has on , yellow band
In 2025 Richard Mille will be known as Franck Muller 2.0
Nah, RM has potential. FM mass-produces. Every RM is different.
I hope so.
Is that a good thing or bad thing
What's wrong with FM? Still one of the best watchmakers in the industry holding several unmatched world records and still producing mesmerizing watches. Now he's just focusing on highest quality rather than quantity.
franck muller>richard mille
dare to be different
Okay, I need one then
RobReports be ready to sell a few houses for these toys.
The watch he's wearing sure looks like a Vostok Europe Lunokhod 2.😂
Rather looks like a RM 28
celebrity deals will be his down fall. Don't need them, they devalue brands over time with their often feckless behavior.
well said
We don't see patek with celebrities
Néo Bourgeois Christum totally agree. His brand will out live then.
How many did they give away to celebrities?
Probably not nearly anywhere close to the likes of rolex, hublot, omega and breitling just to name a few.
´the only watch brand to say, we are going to limit how many watches are made..... Richard Mille makes less than 5,000 watches per year.
AP limits. They could make more 5X more than they do. AP makes 40,000 Rolex makes 800,000 per year
What watch model is he wearing??
Could be RM 28
I know what he doing he treating each piece like a Jackson Pollock or Picasso and he know he limited led watch's and be more cash

You should watch HODINKE’s talking watches with Jean Claude Biver. Great insight to that era
I thought it was just the APRP division, and they only helped developed the tourbillons. Not a complete AP partnership with Mille
he farted at 7:45 🤣🤣🤣
looks like the watches you could get out of the gumball machine years ago for 10cents
Well I will have to stick to the homage watches and super clones for these RM then lol
Great guy...can fool people are smart and rich.to buy watches rubber......🤔
