Yes more "before it was nerfed". The Old Type 59, the Hellcat, the PzIV, the VK 3601H, machine gun bulldog and so on :D
The VK was my goto at that time. Then WG "promoted" it to heavy and nerfed it to uselessness.
@@calhig3794 I also had a guy in ma former clan who'd always play the VK whenever he could. He absolutely loved that thing. I guess he must have been quite sad after the changes to it :D
@@Ac3di4 I got Raider(?) accidently in the VK on Malinovka - with 6 kills, 100% cap points, and never spotted. How? I have no clue.

I remember having this and the Hellcat around 2012. Was super overpowered and so much fun.
Back when tech tree tanks were actually majority fielded as "meta", and game wasn't on completely money farming mode.

But it didnt have 152mm at the time, it only had the 107mm that the T-150 uses
It had awfull reload though, and everyone knew it an took advantage of it.

@@Kyezie131 they nerfed all the T5 scouts for the addition of T and T10 scouts, changing their MM from -1/+3 to +2/-2 (later all tier 5 stopped meeting tier 3)
@@sniperloic2904 Yup, been playing since the Beta. But they ruined the tank regardless instead of keeping the tank's original stats and maybe moving it up a tier or something. Was one of my favorite tanks and still have my most base XP of 2668 in it

The KV1S and the T18 were my nightmares back when I started, I don't think there was any worse tanks to play against as a newbie starting your first tech trees.
T18 was absolute team sweeper, I have my kill record in it, 12 kills on province😂

also the t82 that came after it, with its 105mm derp gun :D

The KV1-S ISN'T at tier V anymore! Since the tech tree rework it was moved back to tier VI. However, its guns weren't changed at all 😐

@@codyfrench7668 it was and still is completely P2W because of the 122mm derp with HEAT, I found it to be even worse than it was when it was the original KV-1S. the 85mm got a buff a few patches back, too.
Since it got to T6 again with the HP increase it's not as toxic anymore but 370 dmg with 150 pen with a 10 sec reload is still way too good imo.

The Kv-is was great for tier 5 but at tier 6 it's terrible
honestly i kinda miss the gun sound effects from old school WoT..that thundering boom felt and sounded a lot meatier than guns nowadays

Dang, that victory music brought back so much nostalgia. I remember getting the KV-1S and drooling over the sound of its main gun and doing 300-400dmg per shot. This trip down memory lane was amazing and can't wait to see more of them.

Same! The boomy sound may have sounded generic to some, but it was satisfying as hell.
The victory music was on the console version of the game too several years ago, so it was a trip down memory lane for me too (IDK if it still is, the last time I played WoT console was like 4 or 5 years ago). When was it removed from the PC version? I only started playing the PC version a couple of years ago so I don't know.
Watching this video and the last episode of "Before it was Nerfed" makes me want WG to make a World of Tanks Classic
they do it some years ago, for a limited time of trial then remove definitely. It's was funny replay with this tank, the true Chaffee and many other tanks that WG changed or remove. Also I want to have again a platform with old mechanics and old tank, but I think WG will never make because they know that too many people stop playing current version for older version and they don't sell nothing anymore
THIS is the World of Tanks I miss, when I had loads of fun, when I was actually thinking about playing it all day, when it was exciting to learn more about the game. Sadly have moved on since the game changed too much…
Miss sealclubbing and tier 5 against tier 10 matchmaking? 2012 really was not the best wot, imho.
Sadly I think the same game brought to current day would be a total mess. While there are some bad things that current WoT has (premium better than tech tree, stupid high tier meta), the old WoT was kinda "fun" because most people are still very clueless and just not really competitive about the game. A modern player would be mad when they are told to play pz 38 na meeting the old tier 9 IS-4 without sixth sense even existing, or playing stuffs like the old tier 3 meeting a KV with KV-2 turret and 107mm gun.
@@sonderling2473 I never played in 2012. Not the Tier 5 versus Tier 10 but the old KV-1S, old artillery, gold premium shells, all of that.

@@StraightUpRainbows technically wot was shit in 2012. It had quite other balancing issues than current wot. The game mechanics were and are fun (for me), but it was just a game of "older players seal clubbing every match against lower tiers". Of course op premiums and gold spam are shit and my games played declined over the years, but current wot is more interesting than 2012-2014.
The m18 is actually a hellcat and you can still see it with the name m18 hellcat in the garage, the jackson was called m36 slugger
Yup use to be M18 Hellcat and M36 Slugger. However the Slugger name has always been hotly contested as being possibly fictional and invented by model kit makers. Hence why it's now called the M36 Jackson. Even the Jackson is an unofficial name that nobody quite knows where it comes from (since it's named after a Civil War General most people think it's a British nickname for the vehicle which follows suit with the Grant, Lee, Sherman etc.).
Marder II, they nerfed it like 5 times in a row.
It had a beastly gun for it's Tier, and about 500+ meters of view range.
It could see most of the smaller maps, just sitting still with binoculars on.
I still see it in the hands of sealclubbers today. Every Marder I meet shoots APCR and reks half the enemy team.

Suggestion for the next video: IS-4 at tier 9, it was an absolute monster. Or maybe Bulldog with that outrageous machine gun 10 round autoloader, probably my favourite tank ever.
The scariest part of the Type 59 was when there where 3 or 4 on the other side and the went full Wolfpack on the enemy team.

Before it was nerfed ELC AMX plz. That tank was such a blast to play, especially when you rushed the enemy, shot them and then hugged their side so they couldn't hit you cause it was such a tiny tank. There was even a guy with like 7 crew skills which at the time was absolutely mental, QB even did a video on him.

Its funny, how WoT has changed, how maps were added and discarded, new tanks and so on. Its funny to play on Xbox, because it includes all maps and tanks that has been or even aren't in the game yet. Having 3 tier 10 tanks in the line to superconqueror is only an example. Or premium obj. 268 v5 - obj. 268 with a turret. Uts fun to play dragon ridge, port or province. And many more. But importantly - THE WT AUF 100 IS THERE TOOOO.

The 1S is back at tier 6 actually, that was changed when all the tech trees were simplified.

My favourite tank in the game was the tier 4 Matilda and I still remember getting 1-shot by these things years ago just after I started playing the game.

I start playing in 2013 and this it was the KV-1S. KV-1 was so powerful with short 122mm gun, but this. This was too much better. When WG changed, I cryed

Yeah I loved it when it was historic semi prototype tanks, played it for 10 years or so then dropped off after 1.0 due to the change in direction of the game and worsening/realising how much of a pay 2 win game it is and not wanting to continue to spend any more money on the game.
This was my favorite tank back in the day.

The KV1S, Hellcat, and ELC were soo good back in those days. Most matches at the mid tier were usually atleast 3-4 KV1S per game as the main Heavy tanks.

This is the tank that made me love the game and decide to go down the IS-7 line. I remember being fairly new and getting one shot while I was playing my M5 stuart and being in complete disbelief and thinking I had to get my hands on this thing as fast as possible.
It's so long in the past, but does anyone remember when WOT first won the golden joystick? Didn't they have a small event where you could win gold for killing a special amx 1390/leichtraktor?
They are no longer a game company thats friendly to its fan and player anymore .
And now imagine the old KV-3 at tier 6, practically the same as this tank, slower though but with much better armor. It could meet T10 too, but if you got lucky and met low tiers (it could meet tier 3 tanks!), also gold ammo not being available for credits yet, that tank was practically indestructible. I got my forst kolobanov's with that tank, at the end enemies rammed themselve to death on me because they could not do any damage by shooting :D

And then all the wot blitz people going like "What are you talking about mister QB? This is exactly how it is today. The same 122 mm gun, same top speed, same gun depression, same tier. Its all there!"
Was the combined KV-1 and KV-2 (KV) at a time when replays where possible? If so, i would like to see that. Otherwise Techtree Pz- IV Schmalturm maybe?
You can relive the fun for a little money with the KV-122. It plays pretty much the same but it’s definitely a harder sell in todays tier 8, OP, premium tank, spamming meta.

Yes comrade, the KV-1Sport! Speed, alpha damage, gun depression, best tier 8 heavy tank! Preferential matchmaking, only ever face tier 8! Just not many hitpoints. No problem.

I think some good candidates for this series would be the T110E5, O-I Experimental, O-I, T18, T82, Cruiser II, Pz 1C, Obj. 263 (wasn't OP, but was far better than it is now), T110E4 (I heard it used to have the same armor as the E3), and, thanks to the HE changes, the KV2.
I would also like to suggest a similar series called "Before it was Bad", covering tanks that have been powercrept into irrelevance, like the T62A and Churchill VII.
The E4 never had the same armor as the E3. It also always had the turret weakspot that the E3 did not have (the MG turret is weakspot on the E4 but not on the E3). Basically it was the tradeoff of super armor vs having a turret.
Aaah these old gun sounds... So better than today sounds, a lot more vivids and louder.

I loved this tank. Best tank in game !!! This tank was Nerfed, because it was 'free' for everyone in game! With smart opponent this tank was "normal".
no, it was nerfed cos it was op and destroyed variety. Why play other tanks at that tier when that one was so outrageous op.

A couple of things to remember from this video:
Quickybaby is Engaging in a "fail platoon" by Signing up with a tier 5 while playing a tier 6 tank in the 2nd replay.
M37 is tier 3, meaning the m7 Priest was tier 4 at the time.(Arty only went up to tier 8)
The M18 is the hellcat, not the Jackson.
A Stock Jackson Was Called the "M36 Slugger" in the team pannel. When fully upgraded its name changed to "Jackson" in the team pannel.
The Kv-1s Was moved back up to tier 6 as the KV-85 became a collector's vehicle, though it still feels like a tier 5.
Airfield has barely changed since 8.2
Consumables were single use before the stun mechanics were added to arty in 9.17.1
No stupid burst meta of T8 premium tanks(Progetto, Bourrasque, Skoda t56). Type 59 was considered one of the rarer and best tanks at the time.
Can some one explain why did wg remove some of the voice commands from the old american commander.

Ahhhh, the good old kv1s aka sport aka siemka. It was borderline overpowered. OP tanks today, like t56, cant hold a candle to pre-nerfed kv1s. The only one that was close was pre-nerfed obj 268 v4. But playing then was somehow a much better experience to me. As for chat - it was spicy, right. But people were talking alot back then, now its silence. Which one do you prefer?

As originally a Beta player, thanks for the trip down memory lane! The 'remove speed governor' was added. Early games never used to have them. Earlier game also didn't have the crew skills such as 6th sense. The in-game chat comments are quite amusing let alone the cross chat back in the day stirring up the opposition 😂 I'd love Wargming to bring back these older patches, tanks and maps.
Hey QB you should give World of tanks blitz a try the "old" KV-1S still exists in the game with the 122mm and its only a +1 -1 MM. But its actually balanced its not OP unless your in a platoon

It's a shame this can't just be a full series devoted to Soviet tanks, because the OG T-50, T-50-2, T-54, KV, SU-85, and ISU-152 were all just hilariously disgusting and would make great videos. I'm shocked about how many people remember the legend of the BL-10, KV, and Soviet UFOs, but nobody recalls the fact that the SU-85 got an incredibly high performance 107mm gun that made it a Tier V ISU that could consistently do to Tier III tanks what the KV-1S could do to Tier IV.

Made for some great fun platoons if you could get 3. Even 2 with a fast firing 3 guy was good too. I do have to add that they have nurfed almost every tank I have owned. The T40, KV1S ,T29, VK3601, RHM, ELC, T69 and more. I really do wish they would give back the top motor to the VK36 it was fun. They really should fix the dogs in the tier rather than wreck the good tanks.
Lets say for the level 6 make the T1 heavy reverse much faster, Makes the tracks on the ARL 44 not take damage from anyone at any angle and lots of other things.

15:31 not quite. The M18 was the M18 Hellcat before it was seriously nerfed. I suppose it is the Super Hellcat equivalent in today’s WoT.
Edit: the Jackson’s designation is M36. It was initially called the Slugger back in that time period.
Oh man I remember back then in 2011 this tank was my goal because it looks great! I didnt care about stats of tanks back then at all I was just liking this one! And yeah back then this game was more simple without all that premium crap and I played it just for fun. Now good players are even more op with these things added. Back then it was about your skill not about how good equipment you have.
I think I got my first ever Radley-Walters medal in the old KV-1S. It was so much fun. Surprising that WarGaming haven't released a Premium version of it like they did with the ISU-152K.

It’s quite funny that WG can avoid nerfing Kv-1S by making it only tank in the game that will never face tier IV while making it has worse accuracy and worse DPM and buff every single tank HPs…
This brings back so many memories, in 2012 I was 16 years old, not a care in the world.
These were some fun days, back then when no one knew whats going on. I'd really like to go back in time and just play in that time again.
Even though i always wanted a WoT Classic, i also know it wouldnt work out and wouldnt be the same, because everyone has so much knowledge about the game nowadays.
And after every patch you had to wait until qb updated his modpack to have all these little advantages and info. WoT was awesome back then. Too bad it got turned into a milking machine.
its definitely a blast to grind this tank in blitz, which still retains its place as the tier 6with the 122mm... god awful reload makes you question your sanity every time you miss the side of a barn, though
The OI when it was first put in one-shotting tier 6 and tier 7 tanks, and some tier 8 tanks, most OP I can remember a tank being, but that was until people figured out how to beat it, and before they put in more tanks that could pen it everywhere with gold

I think it's more like for more than half the entire games lifecycle thus far! Wasn't this the tank that was famed for being one of the lead developers favourite tank, so it evaded nerfs for years? It was a classic example of poor balancing and bias from WG
Yeah this was the tank that gave birth to the Russian Bias memes. It spent, what like 3-5 years unnerfed. I remember the reason for the nerf actually being when they tried to do the Nation vs Nation matches (anyone remember the whole 1 patch those were around for?) and it basically shone a spotlight at just how overpowered certain tanks were at certain tiers.
For tier 6 nobody matched the russians (just by sheer weight of firepower, when a KV-1S could two shot any other same tier heavy...).
For tier 7 the T29 was the king heavy tank.
For tier 8 it was a bit more balanced but the running them was that the Germans were almost universally always shafted.
The only time the Germans had a major advantage was the (again very brief, like 1-2 patches) of the Historical Battle Mode because they got to have Panthers, Tiger IIs and Jadgtigers vs mostly USA tier 6 (with the Hellcat only having a 76mm, the only gun capable of frontally penning a Tiger II on the US side was the Jackson's 90mm into the lower plate). After a couple of days the Russians tech tree players realized that they were better off going for Howitzers so you saw a lot of SU-152s which would just hammer the crap out of the big German tanks with HE whilst some poor sod had to spot.

Even the Su-85 is op back then. At tier 5 you can mount the 100mm gun on it and give higher tiers a run for their money let alone roflstomping at tier or lower

I continued to have fun with the KV-1s after it was nerfed. I loaded up the derp and continued to have a good win rate. I didn't touch the KV-85... I sold it.
this thing was basically a raid boss for poor unsuspecting tier 4s and 5s. The other heavies at that tier didn't come close to how threatening it felt to face.
