Morgott is Margit. He ambushes you at stormvail castle because he doesn’t want a tarnished to become Elden lord. He swore to protect the Elden throne from under levelled players or moonvail spammers
Congrats on beating Morgott. Now the challenging parts of the game can begin. And what you´ve heard is that Malenia can be found in Haligtree, not in the Erdtree.
Storytime: Morgott is Margit. He is one of Queen Marikas children, a Demi-god but he was born as an omen. Omen suffer from what is considered a defect that makes them grow horns all over their body. Only the Omens born of noble blood get to keep their horns while pleb Omens have all their horns sawn off. You can find these poor souls all over the Lands Between but the noble born were all tossed down into the Leyndell sewers before the Shattering in order to hide them from the world and the shame they'd bring to the nobles. When shit went down during the Shattering and everyone started fighting some of the Omens down in the sewers made their escape back into the world. Morgott, being in his mind a rightful heir to the Elden Throne seized the moment and declared himself King and Lord, only Omens can't become Lords so he hid the fact that he was an Omen from everyone and reigned incognito since it was known that he was a Demi-god but not that he was born "faulty" as an Omen. Since Morgott couldn't show himself as an omen he created the alter ego of Margit in order to get shit done while still keeping his secret and staying in power. Morgott also has another brother with the misfortune of being an Omen but he chose a very different path.
4:25 ironically your build is likely already well suited for Morgott’s blade so it might be a good choice if you level it up, it has a killer Ash of War.
It took me a while to realize Margit and Morgott were the same person, it seemed like they were the twin omens that were mentioned in lore but eventually you can find the other twin. That plus replaying the early game and seeing Margit appear from rays of gold are signs that they are actually the same person just a projection of himself.
14:13 pay attention to gold writing on the grown outside boss areas, since you aren’t using the multiplayer item any gold or red summon signs you see will be NPC’s that are meant to assist with the fights! They are usually all really helpful and I’m pretty sure you can still use your spirit ashes too for a gang of summons lol
Damm. Congrats at beating, one of the best bosses in the entire seires. Morgott is most people's favortie boss but most complain about his "small" health pool, making the fight "too short" haha. Compare now to when you first met Margit at stormveil. You've come a long way. That feeling of progression is something you don't feel in other games. You grew, and won. You god gud. Seeing how many boss remeberances you have, just in case, you can get boss items when you give them to the finger crone at the round table hold. They usually give unique weapons or other items. The queen rott boss thingy you thought was in the tree is something different. You''ll learn about it soon if you follow Millicent's questline. Finally, it looks like you missed it but you could have summoned Melina during Morgott's boss fight. Her summon sign was right outside the boss fog wall. Very thematically appropriate and it doesn't make the fight too too difficult too. Now. I do not remeber what level you were. But I STRONGLY recommend you level up more, and get strong. The game will not hold any more punches, well slam dunks to be exact but you get the point. Finally, don't feel pressured into beating the game the "real way", The devs spent hours masterfully crafting all these mechanics, use them! I summoned for all my fight on my first playthrough. Wrap it up, and maybe do a challenge run on NG+ or on a different character. Though if you want to beat the game the right way, that's perfectly fine too. Play it the way that is most fun. Believe me when I say the mimic is not the strongest thing in the game. LORE: So Margit is Morgot. Because Margit is an omen, the people hate. But he is the sole monarch of the capitol, so he hides himself to his subjects and uses his fake identity Margit to scout out tarnishes that may pose a threat to the capitol. Even with his life long devotion to the erdtree, Morgott was still rejected from becoming the Elden Lord. HIs story is about tragedey and prejudice. Did you notice the thorns were in a cross pattern? You might remember it from somewhere. Maybe Rennala could shed some light. Yeah, not much more to talk about it. Just good luck on your endeavours in the snowy mountain tops of the giants.
Honestly bro, it's soooo brutal watching you play Elden Ring after watching your new gameplays like Sekiro and DS3 ... you can a long way .. but i'm screaming at my screen sooooooo much watching you play ELDEN RING
Lore moment: Morgott is an omen and people are rascist to omen, and usually omen are killed as children but morgott was apart of the golden lineage and wad instead trapped underground with his brother Mohg who was also an omen. And after the shattering he was freed and as a member of the golden lineage he was crowned king of leyendell but since he was an omen he had to rule in secret and his people named him “the veiled monarch” so then all the demigods betrayed the golden order and war happened and stuff and to prevent tarnished from becoming strong he pretended to be Margit the fell omen to kill tarnished while they were weak so they wouldnt get to the erdtree
congrats on defeating Morgott, that's the last you'll see of him. i recommend levelling up your weapon and character and exploring a bit more coz the next area is pretty tough. the boss that poisoned Radahn can be found in that general area if you find the other half of the medallion you got in liurnia in a castle. you can get Morgott's sword from the remembrance, but it has a high arcane requirement. btw you could of summoned Melina for the Morgott fight rip. looking forward 2 the next 1!
Congrats on making it to and beating my personal favorite boss in the game! He's such a cool character, seeing the twist was so hype. I found myself missing him for the rest of the run after I won, LOL...
1:40 there is a particular torch sold by a merchant in the Capital Outskirts of Altus Plateau, it reveals invisible or cloaked enemies and I would highly recommend finding it for the future 🙏
You did great beating Margit! You have grown so much. It’s been really been to watch you grow 👍🏻 a few tips if you don’t mind. Leveling up your character and weapons is a good idea cause the next area is crazy hard. Exploring lyndell and mt. Gelmir is also a good idea. There’s still a lot of things to discover at those areas. You could also progress Alexander’s quest line at mt gelmir if you haven’t already. I can’t remember lol but he can help you at some point in the next area.
Congrats on beating Margott! His rune boosts your health by +25%, so it's a great one to unlock. You can do so at the Divine Tower on the east side of the city. And if I may make a recommendation, finishing Mt. Gelmir before tackling the Mountaintop of the Giants would be a good idea. Extra levels, tools, and practice. Anyway, fun video!
@@matiasgago totally agree with this.. but also make sure you totally clear out the city first as well.. as a lot will become unavailable later on in the mountaintops...
Hi Mati, love the idea of wrestling bell sound effect and the round numbering (so I did’t have to count😬). I thought it’s amazing that you won the fight fair & square, i.e. without the Shackle. Thanks for the triple episodes that carried me through this loooong week.🥳
3:45 preparedness is a good portion of every boss fight but the majority is always gonna be getting in there and getting the experience with the boss, learning the move set and timings as well as any powerful moves that you want to avoid.
@@matiasgago its sweet seeing your progress as you whittle the bosses health bar down time after time. Then it’s heartbreaking when you have that 1hp death 🤣
Good job, dude. You're really getting the hang of it. Will we be seeing the rest of Mt Gelmir and Altus? Also, if I'm allowed to give a small tip, you should give crafting and consumables an extra look. It's easy to forget about but there are some really useful stuff out there like easily craftable extra bleed and super cheap 15% physical damage negation for a full minute. And don't forget to stay on the lookout for cool weapons ;)
There's a weapon that could be of interest of you in Lyndell capital that is not accessible when you progress too far. It's called the bolt of granssax. Basically that's the weapon the giant dragon in the capital got killed by. You need to get to where you fought Godfrey's image and go left from where you came in, down an elevator, fight 2 perfumers and a crucible knight and drop down to a balcony where the bold hits the wall beneath. Youll see it a bit up the spear. The legendary bolt. A fun weapon with a nice skill that can make you the lightning elden lord.
Bro I swear, I love this game. I foolishly though that I could write recommendations for you to fight Morgot, but then I saw how you were learning the moves correctly and improving, the game was teaching you and you were learning quickly, I think you could have killed him without the mimic if you gave it 2 more tries.
Seeing how much you actually missed Melina (much like I did) I wish you noticed you can actually call her to help you with this fight. Fun fact: If she's defeated then with her dying breath she'll cast one last healing spell to help you out.
Just so you know, Bloodhound Finesse has a follow up attack. If you press heavy attack after you use Bloodhound’s Finesse, you will teleport forwards and attack.
I’m amazed at how well you actually do in some of these fights. And to do it by yourself without summons is even better. It’s not something that everyone can do. I made a point to beat the game by myself the first time through. And no I just summon my mimic to do most of the fights for me.
Just wanna put in here that I love Morgott's sword. It is literally a really good upgrade for your Fang and 'Cursed-Blood Slice' ash of war... chef's kiss, love it, I love it.
You also didn't figure out that you could summon Melina in this fight, I'm shocked. Thought she got you... umm... well thought you were a lil bit infatuated with her. Makes this fight very fun that is for certain.
So now we got some Lore to talk about. At the beginning you face off against one of the black knife assassins. They wield daggers imbued with the rune of death that Ranni stole to kill Godwyn the golden and herself. Just a short note because I thought it would be of interest. Before we can actually speak about morgott we need to take a look at the big trees in elden ring. The first one that existed was the crucible tree and it was worshipped long before the golden order came to the lands between. It's defenders were the crucible knights (you fought one of them in the last episode). The power of that tree is more like nature so it's not really a god. The second one is the erdtree. The greater will basically let it grow out of the remnants of the crucible tree. A much smaller natural tree was replaced by a powerful artificial one powered by the gods. The third one is the Haligtree. This is one is basically an attempt from Miquella to create his own Erdtree. He did that to someday gain the power to cure his sister malenia from the scarlett rot within her. So no Malenia is not within the erdtree. Wrong tree bro :D Morgott and his twin brother Mohg are children of Marika and Godfrey. At birth they were "blessed" with the power of the crucible, something the golden order saw as a curse. People having it grow Horns out of their flesh and are called Omen. You can meet many Omens in the game and most have their horns cut off and fight in the royal army. Omens born to people with power were instead sent to the sewers of the capital and imprisoned without cutting their horns. The royal twins suffered this fate but escaped after the shattering of the ring. The brothers are counterparts to each other and while Mohg chose to serve a different god, Morgott was still firmly believing in the golden order. He took the capital by force and and realized that the tree entrance was blocked. After that he tried to prevent tarnished from reaching the capital in an attempt to protect the tree and his hometown. He is the most firm believer in the greater will as you can hear when he calls everyone in his family a traitor. With this knowledge we can solve the question of: morgott = margit??? The answer is yes. Margit is merely a way for him to fight tarnished without announcing that he is in fact an Omen. Wow this took quite a bit of explanation and I hope it was not too confusing. See ya in the next one :)
Congrats getting Morgott, I see alot of comments about the next areas but don't forget that there are sewers beneath lyndell, there are secret areas, quests and a boss very missable there, also check roundtable hold for our Lord and savior feces enjoyer and talk to everyone there they must feel lonely.
Man I want to so bad but I don’t have the computer power for it just yet, working my up to buying a really good pc for streaming :) but happy to hear you’ll be joining when the time comes
There is a minor erdtree back in the weeping peninsula near the middle of the area, you should return there sometime and kill the boss for a Crystal Tear that will give you health regeneration for 3mins. It’s incredibly helpful and could save you some flasks in a fight if you can’t stop to heal at least you’ll be passively healing. Idk how many times that regen has saved me in a fight by giving me that 1hp lol
one thing about morgott is no matter how ugly he is, he's mad graceful on those feet, his whole fight just felt like we were doing the tango with all the spins and rolling
The Rot Goddess is completely optional and technically a hidden boss but I also completely expect the comments and discord to lead you there 🤣 honestly I’m shocked no one pointed you toward Deeproot Depths yet 😜
I am short of inspiration for a thoughtful comment so I'm just gonna say I enjoyed the video and congrats on killing Morgott! Oh... I understand next video is about Leyndell's basement. I'm eager to see that, I think it's favorite part of the game for its level design.
Even though Morgott and margitt are the same person Morgott does have a brother named Mogh which you can find in the sewers under the capital which then in the area you unlocked after you have beaten Morgott(you need to find the portal of course) a portal to the actual fight with Mogh which that is a fun fight
There is a special thing you can do after making it to the end of the mountain tops but if you do it most of the side quests disappear and end it happened to me just make sure you are fully satisfied with what you have completed before doing it
awesome fight :) just by the door was a summon for melina, who is quite cool to watch fight :) Margit and Morgot are twins yes. Morgot was the last elden lord. And if you do all the side quests, I think you might be 3/4 through the game now :) maybe! EDIT: maybe 2/3 :D editEdit: all bow to the dusk-eyed queen ;)
Ahh I wish I had seen that before lol! I’ll have to do that on my 2nd run. and that’s amazing haha i’m stoked but also sad at the thought this game will end one day haha
@@matiasgago haha its hidden in the golden leaves by the door.. easy to miss. And don't worry, you have masses more to see yet :) Keep an eye on Melina's lore though.. she is going to feature very strong in DLC I predict.
don't forget the side quests you should go for them and optional bosses Melania dragon lords devourer of gods and others there are 150 more bosses to play with and all are optional
My first playthrough was a bit onesided now that I look back at it. I killled Rykard before him, so had one of the most broken ass fate/str weapons in the game.
Gz on killing the Omen king. Still baffles me that you havent yet claimed one of the demigod weapons and used them, but kept going with claws and the curved sword, rather impressive if you ask me.
@@matiasgago Switching up weapons was definitely part of the enjoyment i had, but still ended up choosing a favorite to play the rest of the game with (Radahns). Still pretty proficient to go all the way with claws though :D
If you could upgrade your weapons with Smithing or Somber Stones, it would make things much easier on you. I beat Morgott's ass badly the first time I fought him, it was one of the worst spankings I dealt to any boss in the game. I think they stealth buffed him or something after subsequent playthroughs. I'm commenting knowing that you've already beaten the game lol. Your Bloodhounds Fang Curved Greatsword also has innate Bleed built into it like the Hook Claws. I'm not really a fan of Fist Weapons and Twinblades, the damage is really weak, range kinda sucks, and they don't stun enemies very well, but that's the beauty of this game, all playstyles are viable in the right hands. I'd say Greatswords, Curved Greatswords, and Halberds are my favorite weapon types/move sets in Elden Ring.
If you thought that was pain, I'd wager Morgott would be an even more formidable opponent in 1v1 basketball. He would go NBA jam mode with some on-fire dunks from mid-court.
Has no one mentioned how Morgott's big power is literal geysers of shit? It's not lava colored, it's not fire colored, it's not bright enough to be golden or lightning… It's the exact same color as this game's depiction of dung! Is that what he means by the stain he leaves on the thrones?
When I got to Morgott… I thought he was the final boss. After beating him I realized that was incorrect… wish he was though, the last boss is SO much harder lol. The real test comes from the next bosses you face
If you ever decide to play the other games i'll follow the playthrough all the way through just like this one, they're all different but good in their own ways. EDIT: And yea, nobody was ever ready for Melania. Ever.
Sadly not today Samu, my city got smacked with a crazy storm on Saturday and i’m now just getting power and internet back. Gonna film a ton today for the week tho gonna be stacked ❤️
I had a "harder" time on godfrey than morgott. Did morgott on my 2nd try and took like 7 or something tries for godfrey. Prob me just making too many mistake or just that i dont like fighting in small places like margit.
@@matiasgago luckily i played a lot of monster hunter so i know a few things but this is the first "dark souls" type im playing and sticking with like you. Gl on the run, i still needa do more since ive been busy with other things.
Considering some of the overpowered people that get summoned into boss fights with full knowledge of the boss you using spirit ashes and other NPC summons is still very accomplished for someone new to the developer. You are still active and participating in the fight compared to “Let Me Solo Her” 🤣 sweet stuff and awesome to see the improvements.
There has been a lot made about this game not having a difficulty mode setting and it being too hard. But watching you play without summons it is clear that easy mode is using summons and NPC (or other players even) assistance. There is a questline in Caelid that you can do that gets you an NPC helper for this boss. There is a second one in the sewers of Leyndell for a second NPC helper (though for some reason I couldn't get that one to work. I either missed a step or it was bugged). Anyway I had one NPC helper and my Mimic Tear and I one shot this guy. It was so easy I assumed that there was a second phase coming but nope. He was just dead. Good for you trying to do it alone. That is not for me. 🤣

I’m so bummed out about this man 🥲 next play through I guess
Just so you know, Bloodhound Finesse has a follow up attack. If you press heavy attack after you use Bloodhound’s Finesse, you will teleport forwards and attack.
Yeah I don’t think I really used it during this fight but i love it!
I’m amazed at how well you actually do in some of these fights. And to do it by yourself without summons is even better. It’s not something that everyone can do. I made a point to beat the game by myself the first time through. And no I just summon my mimic to do most of the fights for me.
Well done sir, again!
Appreciate you bro!
The face on the thumbnail says it all lmao
so much pain lmao
Bravo mate, bravo! 🎉😄
Appreciate you bro ❤️
Just wanna put in here that I love Morgott's sword. It is literally a really good upgrade for your Fang and 'Cursed-Blood Slice' ash of war... chef's kiss, love it, I love it.
You also didn't figure out that you could summon Melina in this fight, I'm shocked. Thought she got you... umm... well thought you were a lil bit infatuated with her. Makes this fight very fun that is for certain.
LMAO yeah I done goofed and didn’t see the damn sign would’ve loved to see her in action… in a totally platonic way that is
You can powerstance (dual wield) Morgott with the Dloodhound's Fang, they're both primarily dex scaling blood status applying great curved swords.
Incredible! Thank you Zotan
Wrong tree bro :D
Morgott and his twin brother Mohg are children of Marika and Godfrey.
Not confusing at all, this was a fantastic read thank you as always ❤️ You are a legend
Ouch lmaooo. Margits shackle worked wonders for me during his first phase. Made it so much easier
So much ouch haha
Congrats getting Morgott, I see alot of comments about the next areas but don't forget that there are sewers beneath lyndell, there are secret areas, quests and a boss very missable there, also check roundtable hold for our Lord and savior feces enjoyer and talk to everyone there they must feel lonely.
Hahaha thanks broski! Next few episodes we're gonna be doing just that :D
He’s like halfway through the game in terms of main story bosses
Love it !
@@matiasgago yep good luck on the next main story boss
Have you thought about doing a live episode ?! I'm sure alot of us would be there to watch and chat along!
This is huge! and I actually might have that already imma def check it out, thanks man!
one thing about morgott is no matter how ugly he is, he's mad graceful on those feet, his whole fight just felt like we were doing the tango with all the spins and rolling
Honest bro he was so sick to dance with
@@matiasgago if you thought that was sick just wait till the next boss in that ring 😭
Morgott is one of the best fights in the game tbh
The Rot Goddess is completely optional and technically a hidden boss but I also completely expect the comments and discord to lead you there 🤣 honestly I’m shocked no one pointed you toward Deeproot Depths yet 😜
I am short of inspiration for a thoughtful comment so I'm just gonna say I enjoyed the video and congrats on killing Morgott! Oh... I understand next video is about Leyndell's basement. I'm eager to see that, I think it's favorite part of the game for its level design.
Hahaha I appreciate you as always Max ❤️
Even though Morgott and margitt are the same person Morgott does have a brother named Mogh which you can find in the sewers under the capital which then in the area you unlocked after you have beaten Morgott(you need to find the portal of course) a portal to the actual fight with Mogh which that is a fun fight
That is def up next haha I cannot wait to check the whole sewer system 😭
Sick fight dude! Gotta do what you gotta do 😅
You know it 😭
I remember the first time I saw Morgott I was confused. I was like "didn't I kill him and why he chamge his name?" lol . Great video Mati
Lmao! very confusing indeed and thank you!
There is a special thing you can do after making it to the end of the mountain tops but if you do it most of the side quests disappear and end it happened to me just make sure you are fully satisfied with what you have completed before doing it
Sounds good brotha! Thanks for the heads up
You could have summoned Melina as the NPC summons to fight Morgott with you. I didn't notice it, but found out later.
Yeah man I totally missed it i’m so bummed out :/
Congrats at being like 60% through you can do it!
We got this haha 🙌🏽
7:37 "😖" 😂
😣
awesome fight :) just by the door was a summon for melina, who is quite cool to watch fight :) Margit and Morgot are twins yes.
Margit and Morgott are brothers, they aint the same perspn
I figured that’s hella cool!
There is a bump in difficulty around the mountain of giants
I would suggest exploring the rest of the areas before going to the mountain
Say no more chief!
Fun fact you ignored: you can summon Melina in Morgott battle. The gold summoning sign was right there
don't forget the side quests you should go for them and optional bosses Melania dragon lords devourer of gods and others
there are 150 more bosses to play with and all are optional
Love it will do chief!
My first playthrough was a bit onesided now that I look back at it. I killled Rykard before him, so had one of the most broken ass fate/str weapons in the game.
Legendary haha I can’t wait to fight this Rykard dude I hear he’s quite a doozy
I don't like hearing the song at the end of the video. Not because I dislike the song, but because I know the video is coming to an end.
Rob ❤️ Appreciate the support as always brotha
You missed a chance to summon waifu melina :D her summon sign was next to the portal entrance
I heard i’m so bummed out about it :/
It's a shame you never noticed Melina's summon sign for the Morgott fight.
It really is i’m pretty bummed out about it ngl
Funny you mention Morgott/Margit being a twin 👀 I won’t say anything further.
oh snap 👀
Awe shit here we go again!! Get ready to get shit on in the future!!😂😂
Oh brother the pain 🤣
@@matiasgago did better than I did lol
Malenia is inside haligtree
Yess I had the wrong tree in mind
Don't tempt me with a good time now!
Fridays are and will always be a good time 🙌🏽
Gz on killing the Omen king. Still baffles me that you havent yet claimed one of the demigod weapons and used them, but kept going with claws and the curved sword, rather impressive if you ask me.
Thank you bro I am not the most proficient ER player clearly hahaha
Morgott more like Amber Turd am I right? lol buddy was just shitting all over the place that’s pre badass if you ask me
epic!!!
❤️
When I got to Morgott… I thought he was the final boss. After beating him I realized that was incorrect… wish he was though, the last boss is SO much harder lol. The real test comes from the next bosses you face
Cant wait 😭
If you ever decide to play the other games i'll follow the playthrough all the way through just like this one, they're all different but good in their own ways.
EDIT: And yea, nobody was ever ready for Melania. Ever.
Happy to hear that chief I most definitely will I am hooked for life haha and true lmao that’s very nice to hear :’)
My favoueite boss in elden ring and my favourite boss ever but that might change.
too classic
Hell yeah!
you should have at least 40 points in health, makes things a lot easier after this boss
Sounds good thank you sir 👊🏽
New episode today?
Sadly not today Samu, my city got smacked with a crazy storm on Saturday and i’m now just getting power and internet back. Gonna film a ton today for the week tho gonna be stacked ❤️
Fun fact, in the Morgott fight you can summon Melina for help!
Its really cool
I had a "harder" time on godfrey than morgott. Did morgott on my 2nd try and took like 7 or something tries for godfrey. Prob me just making too many mistake or just that i dont like fighting in small places like margit.
2nd and 7th try are god tier compared to my 17th hahaha. Margit was the worst there was no space to freak out and run to lol
@@matiasgago luckily i played a lot of monster hunter so i know a few things but this is the first "dark souls" type im playing and sticking with like you. Gl on the run, i still needa do more since ive been busy with other things.
Margaret thatcher 2.0 battle
🤣🤣
I was going to tell Congrats on getting thru the first half of the game but in truth i think you're just 1/3 of the game done
That’s so exciting haha
Waiting for video in sewers.
oh it’s coming
Considering some of the overpowered people that get summoned into boss fights with full knowledge of the boss you using spirit ashes and other NPC summons is still very accomplished for someone new to the developer. You are still active and participating in the fight compared to “Let Me Solo Her” 🤣 sweet stuff and awesome to see the improvements.
Appreciate you bro you're absolutely right haha gotta give myself a bit more credit :p
Appreciate you bro 🤣
*Summons mimic tear and uses magic against spirit Godfrey*
*Complains that fight was too easy*
SMH
First comment!!
Real one 😮💨
cheated with the summon but ok
“cheated” lmao ok
