I had the same thing it could have been the worm gear for you but I greased and lubed everything up and figured out the two small screws that go by the line clicker (the left plate of the reel or the part without the crank) I took out they were pressing on something but now the reel feels like butter
You're welcome and thanks for watching! Difficulty is all relative.... not in my opinion, but..... If you're trying to do a complete service, I would prefer you take it to your local repair shop or wait for me to do a full breakdown video.
Thanks for the video! Just bought this reel at a flea market and one of the channels on my worm gear are broken. Do you know where I can get a replacement?
Thanks for checking out the video. It's not ideal.... you can just remove the levelwind guide, while leaving everything else intact. Spread the word about the channel.
I just bought one of these off marketplace and it has no drag. Any idea what it could be ? Even if i tighten down all the way its like i have it on free spool....
@@Relentlesscatfishing hey, you'd be surprised what I see/hear when customers bring in their reels.... believe it or not, I had a guy who did just that..... claimed the reel wouldn't work, no matter what he did..... i flicked the eccentric and gave it back to him..... he looked at me like I performed some sort of magic. See the last part of my initial response again. If you're not comfortable working on the reel yourself, you can try taking it to your local repair shop. If you want my assistance, feel free to reach out to me directly at tsgreelservice@gmail.com and we can go over pricing.
Does the clicker remain engage full time? The spring keep pulling into the teeth and the button will not stay in the disengage position. Any ideas why? Thank you.
Thanks for checking out the video. If it was functioning properly before, then the issue is probably not with the spring. The click button (not the click tongue) could be worn (or missing a washer in the stack) where the e-clip secures the stack. You can open the the non-handle side to verify if this is the case. If so, you need to replace the click button. Or, the spring could broken and need to be replaced. Hope that helps.

You're welcome and thanks for checking out the video! You can probably find it at mysticparts.
Sir.. is that hole safe for sea water? What should i do after fishing? Should i open it, wash it and regrease it?

How did you get the star drag off?
Thanks for checking out the video. It screws off, counter-clockwise.

Thanks for checking out the video. Did you flick the lever into retrieve mode? If so, maybe you're missing parts.
@@TSGReelService yes lol even in retrieve mode I can just pull the line freely

Possibly, some wd40 or similar oil has wet the clutch plates from over oiling.
How much play should the worm gear cover have? Should it move back in forth some?
Thanks for watching! It might play a mm or two. If the reel functions properly, it's not an issue.

Could you leave the guide off for easier and further casting?
I think so...the guide and pawl.
Body metal or graphite
Graphite not metal
Thanks for watching! Graphite.
Word of advice from a person that has done this several times, remove the levelwind and paw but leave the wormgear so there won't be any holes.
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts. Yes, or seal it off. Spread the word about the channel.
