I once visited the CERN hadron collider in Geneva. I was deeply impressed. It is probably the most complex machine ever built my mankind and the dream of every engineer (and nerd of course)

Well actually even i thought so at 1st...but there r a lot of issues....1stly university will only sponsor 1 guest...hence sheldon has to buy tickets separately which means he will have to sit separate from them...but since he is a petty traveler who cant.even travel in a bus alone he would demand penny to go separate...moreover there is the problem of rooms....again university will buy 1 room for probably leonard and penny but sheldon has to but a separate and provided he gets a room in the same hotel he will not want to stay alone...hence if sheldon comes along with them its no.use of penny going

In the episode where Penny borrows money from Sheldon it is implied that he saves money and has a lot of savings. That means that he could go to Switzerland anytime if it's his lifelong dream to visit the CERN and the LHC. Everyone can visit it and it's for free. He just needs a plane ticket and a booking for the visit, that's all. I know it's a sitcom and they have to make it funny but just as info.

I believe that the writers made a huge mistake when they neglected to, at the very least, have Leonard and Sheldon have a huge argument because of Sheldon's anal need to review and make permanent adjustments to "the roommate agreement," each time either one of them had another new person coming into their lives. They should have figured that out without any input during their character development! There's no way anyone who's as anal and self centered as the character Sheldon Cooper would ignore such a huge gap in the method of their (utterly absurd) planning for everything, every day!

Leonard is a bad friend a lot of the times he doesn’t honor a lot of things with his friends and has betrayed them multiple times. 1) pinkie swear with Howard not to go after Priya. 2) this example in particular where he violates the roommate agreement. It doesn’t seem like he can honor any promises or agreements he commits to. Why do a pinkie swear and why did he sign an actual contract if you aren’t going to mean it. It basically shows his character as spineless and deceiving just to get what he wants. At least Sheldon is upfront and honest and honors his commitments.
The Roommate Agreement is only to accommodate Sheldon, that has been firmly established in past episodes when he broke his own rules in a bid to get his own way. He may be a genius but he's a bratty child first and foremost. I suppose that's down to his parents constantly enabling him and attending his every whim, well his mother anyway. Sheldon doesn't need money. He loan Penny $1800 and it is to be paid back when she can. Okay going by Sheldon Logic, Sheldon never needed a roommate in the begin to drive him so the whole thing falls apart. He is able to take the bus, (which is safer than a car)he can also walk. He can't take the bus because of the dirty seats, but thumbing through dirty comic books or eating in a restaurant is OK? Same germs so THAT would not happen. Nor would shopping for computer parts. In fact he would not come out of the apartment...or eat take out food because other people have handled it.

If Leonard knew about it, he could have invoked Section 37B of the Roommate Agreement. Assuming that Sheldon had it in the agreement this early on in the show.
I'm sure Leonard didn't know about it since it surprised him that it existed after the emergency preparedness drill. And, as Amy confessed later in the series, Sheldon simply changes the agreement as he chooses and doesn't tell Leonard. He eventually put it on a tablet so he wouldn't have to reprint new pages, and could alter it without Leonard's agreement. He is so deceitful and selfish.

Sheldon doesn't need money. He loan Penny $1800 and it is to be paid back when she can. Okay going by Sheldon Logic, Sheldon never needed a roommate in the begin to drive him so the whole thing falls apart. He is able to take the bus, (which is safer than a car)he can also walk. He can't take the bus because of the dirty seats, but thumbing through dirty comic books or eating in a restaurant is OK? Same germs so THAT would not happen. Nor would shopping for computer parts. In fact he would not come out of the apartment...or eat take out food because other people have handled it.

Haha, it took a while what Sheldon is refering to (1:40); the Swiss tradition is "Räbe-Liechtli Umzug" ... a kids corso, displaying handmade candle housings (crafted out of cabagge turnips). It's pronounced by sheldon almost beyong recognition :)
If Leonard knew about it, he could have invoked Section 37B of the Roommate Agreement. Assuming that Sheldon had it in the agreement this early on in the show.
I'm sure Leonard didn't know about it since it surprised him that it existed after the emergency preparedness drill. And, as Amy confessed later in the series, Sheldon simply changes the agreement as he chooses and doesn't tell Leonard. He eventually put it on a tablet so he wouldn't have to reprint new pages, and could alter it without Leonard's agreement. He is so deceitful and selfish.

actually there is it'll be "Valentine's Day" I'm pretty he wants to celebrate Valentine's Day with penny not sheldon cause if he does take Sheldon he'll end up having a "Gayish Valentine's Day" and it turns out he had to take Raj since penny and sheldon were sick so Leonard did have a "Gayish Valentine's Day".
Sheldon can pay for his flight & his own room. Leonard can see the collider with Sheldon & have romance & skiing on the side (no different than the schedule he planned with just Penny going.
Sheldon need have nothing to do with the holiday & has no interest in it anyway.
Why didn't Sheldon just buy himslef a ticket, go with them, and only Leanord and Sheldon go to see the Hadron Collider. Penny isn't even interested. She would still be able to go to Switzerland and go skiing with Leanard.
