Every TH-camr asks for the same thing. But don't feel bad. I don't like or subscribe their videos either. You have over a thousand subscribers, so you're getting paid now, and I watched this video "all the way to the end", and that's as good as anyone ever gets. If you want more make longer videos.
I wouldn't be so sure of that, in a few episodes they talk about how Penny tends to emasculate Leonard, something that his mother does. They even have an episode where Leonard is writing a murder mystery and the joke is that every character is just a member of his life and they think that the main female sidekick is based on either Bernadette, Penny or Beverly because she emasculates the protagonist who is Leonard's self-insert.
When I was a kid, the question was not whether my parents loved me or not, I know they did. It was how long is it until my 18th birthday and I could get out of the cornfield we lived in the middle of. That was their choice of a "good place to call home", not mine... I wanted to live in the mountains on the north coast of California. And once I got there, I stayed there for over 2/3s of my life. The only reason I am not still there is my health, I'm old and in a wheelchair now, and can't live alone anymore.
Yes but it's a comedy. The punchline, saddest part being his dad borrowing it was hilarious. There's plenty to cry about in the real world. The sad parts on this show are exaggerated and ridiculous enough that we don't need to wallow in the misery of the setup for the jokes.

Her children seemed to be experiments on how to raise successful individuals and Leonard was the control. Because there is no way his siblings don't have the same issues if she raised them all the same way.

It baffles me how Beverly didn’t think Leonard would care to know that his parents were getting divorced or that his childhood pet DIED but then again she’s basically the worse version of what Sheldon could have become without the family & friends he had in his life & even then he’s the hardest person in the world to be friends with.
His dog didn't just DIE. BEVERLY HAD HIM KILLED, BECAUSE HE WAS OLD AND BLIND. You know, like family does. And Sheldon knew, because Beverly shared this with him, as part of her endless string of betrayals of her son. She seems to be a high functioning psychopath, devoid of empathy, reveling in manipulation and casual personal destruction. She's a bigger monster than Sheldon.
I never understood why he wanted to keep contact to his mother in first place. It‘s not like he is dependent on her and after all she did - or not did - it is a surprise Leonard even talks to her.
My mom is kinda like that, but it was clear to me that she just wanted me to succeed. She nurtured a strong sense of competition inside me, and she never accepted anything other than first place in every activity I tried to do. She kicked me out of home when I turned 18, and also my brother when he turned 18. She despised my wife at first because she didn't graduate in a top-tier university. Turns out one thing went right: I've got pretty nice achievements that she can brag about. However, I began to question the value of life and concluded that it's worth nothing. Now, I'm pretty successful for my age, but I'm also sure that I will kill myself at some point in the future, as soon as I'm not able to maintain the same achievement rate. I'd kill myself now, but my life is too perfect for me to do that. It's unjustifiable at the moment.
I find it odd that she was shocked that he didn't invite her to the wedding. Weird. You don't care for Leonard and never have so why would they? Christine Baranski is a great actress though
She and Sheldon have that in common : they do everything to push people away, to upset and trouble them but because they consider they didn’t do anything wrong and are within their rights, they act all surprised when this backfires on them (Beverly never considered this might be her fault if her husband drifted away from her and cheated, despite « being cold, emasculating and having shown him no physical affection in years » and Sheldon didn’t consider it may have been his fault if he and his brother wouldn’t get along)

So, Beverly has some type of personality disorder. She went about raising her kids in a completely scientific way. If they ever had Leonard’s siblings on the show they’d probably be just as messed up if not worse, even if they’re successful.
A lot of people ask why Leonard put up with Sheldon, his roommate agreements, and his insufferable personality. Well... this is the answer: he was forged a crucible of a demanding and insensitive mother who, (though brilliant and able to read into the actions and behaviors of others) lacked empathy or true emotional IQ. In other words, Leonard had years of dealing with someone almost exactly like Sheldon and he's one of the few people on Earth who has learned to manage their ways. And just like Sheldon, he just has forgive her for being who she is because she can't change who she is.

Psychopaths and sociopaths lack empathy, not autistic people. Sheldon does, however, tend to egomania, sometimes verging on megalomania in addition to his spectrum status, and that complicates matters.
As a psychiatrist and apparently a very good one she seems to know how to dissect and analyze any type of human relationship and intellectually knows how to function in them but on a practical level she’s out of her depth😅
She doesn't even know how to analyze them or function in them. Her books literally state stuff like you should always compare siblings, never celebrate your child's birthday and similar horrible shit. There is no way she would be respected let alone gotten her PhD in the real world.

Beverly saying Leonard's experiment is not original research is a wrong statement. That's the prerequisite step for running an original research. Do what others have done, and try new things around it.
Yep and not something any actual scientist would ever say, replication is the backbone of science, without it you have nothing but faith and religion. I also noticed she was written to say that being a professor at Harvard law was being the top of the legal profession, which is laughably wrong. No lawyer worth anything is going to be a professor until they want to retire. The legal system is called a practice, because real world experience matters more than anything else. The writers of tbbt are so bad, it's not even funny.

Original research garners the accolades, and replication is only lauded as confirmation of the original research. Furthermore, although Beverley says there is no reason for her to be proud of Leonard's high achieving siblings since their accomplishments are not hers, she does seem to value their high achievements while denigrating Leonard's achievements as not meeting her high standards.
That's not even just science related; If you're a lawyer and you're trying to argue a precedent setting case you look at similar attempts or related cases. if you're studying in a creative field you might learn a specific form or style or technique through a case study and be asked to write something in that style. The only people who believe new ideas should never be related to things that came before are self mythologizing idiots.

She probably literally cant honestly. She will keep track of his urination schedule and updates from sheldon, told him her opinion on things, but no hugging.
It's a soap opera sitcom. That is the explanation. The writers just decided that all had to get married no matter how cheesy that was. No narrative logic needed
It's a shame the show never explored this plot into a resolving end. An episode were Beverly Hofstadter is made to realize what an abusive soul crushing parent she is, and what an egotistical narcissist bully she is, would have been both satisfied, and very worthy. A commentary on the nature of toxic abusive relationships and the pathology they induce on the victims, as well as an important display of the evil side of motherhood (a topic that rearly get the attintion it desrevs). Standing up to her and exposing her for what she was, would have made a good character growth for Leonard, and cloud have also been a chance for Shaldon to witness and realise how horrible and tormenting he himself was to Leonard.
Not really, it'll probably give those around abusive people false hope that these people will ever change (not impossible, but the tend not to), and hence cheapen the significance.

It would make sense because Leonard is also smart so it makes no sense that she only does this to Leonard.
The """humor""" in this scene comes from Leonard crying in a """"funny"""" way and mentioning bed-wetting. It's one of Chuck Lorre's biggest flaws that thankfully got better as the show went on but the issue never resolved itself completely. What separated a show like Two and a Half Men and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is that Always Sunny acknowledged its main characters were awful, and while some episodes have delved into why, it doesn't absolve them of what they've done.
I really wished we got a scene with Leonard and his brothers, and they realized that she pitted them all against each other, making them all feel unworthy.

I think Beverly is one of those parents who basically said, "I brought you into this world. How you navigate through it is all on you." The one thing I like about Beverly is her refusal to claim credit for her children's accomplishments. It's the total opposite of parents who brag all their children's success.
The fact that Sheldon and Beverly cohort on the side and pow-wow about Leonard’s life WITHOUT him and purposely keep info from him makes this even more homicidally-rage inducing.

Repeating others' experiments is how subsequent generations of experimental scientists learn the latest in experimental technique, and who knows y' might find something new. I am reminded about the math error in iron determination in the vegetable, spinach. I've heard that is how the cartoon, Popeye came to be. Later the error is discovered by repeating the experiment.
Both Laurie Metcalf and Christine Baranski were nominated for Emmys for these roles (15 Emmy nominations and 1 win for Baranski in her career, 12 nominations and 4 wins for Metcalf.)

The writers may have intended for her to have a change of heart, but all it comes across as is her telling Leonard what he wants to hear do she can add that to her research notes.
She is an exaggerated version of my mother. She saw my older and younger siblings as perfect and I was a piece of crap. Flowers, hand picked, for mother's day. "Oh, a handful of weeds. My mom was always complaining when I gave her art projects because it's just one more thing she had to put up. She did keep file folders for each of us kids to give back once we were grown. News articles, report cards ect
I have a theory that she is not Leonard’s real mom. And here’s why. Leonard father had an affair at an unknown point possibly after the birth of his sister and had already began having marriage problems with Beverly and had the affair as a result of affection and after Leonard’s birth, she decided to go along with being his “mom” while her other two children are are treated differently compared to Leonard.
I'm currently having issues with my mother. I came here to laugh, but I see way too many similarities that I never realized before. Geez, no wonder I had low self esteem for 30 years lol
And i thought nobody can top Evelyn from two and a half men in bad parenting but what i like about that show is that at least her kids especially Charlie face her and treat her how she should be treated but in this show Beverley was never let known of how horrible she is.

You know what would’ve been interesting: If there was an arc where Leonard got fed up and cut all ties with his mother. And for all her “brilliance”, she was extremely upset. So the friends tried their hardest to get them to speak to him.
I never could understand the rationalizing of him thinking who Penny slept with was any of his business, especially when he told his mother that he had been going out with Raj's sister for eight months.
I feel like Sheldon should one day realize how lucky he was that his family cares for him, if his mother was the same as Leonard’s he wouldn’t have his bratty behavior, no one would care for his feats or try to make things easier for him
By the way, Sheldon should be even a greater disappointment. So much promise, but spent a decade in a completely fruitless dead end which was the now completely dead string theory.

A lot of people ask why Leonard put up with Sheldon, his roommate agreements, and his insufferable personality. Well... this is the answer: he was forged a crucible of a demanding and insensitive mother who, (though brilliant and able to read into the actions and behaviors of others) lacked empathy or true emotional IQ. In other words, Leonard had years of dealing with someone almost exactly like Sheldon and he's one of the few people on Earth who has learned to manage their ways. And just like Sheldon, he just has forgive her for being who she is because she can't change who she is.
Sheldon is actually far more likeable in my opinion 😂

Psychopaths and sociopaths lack empathy, not autistic people. Sheldon does, however, tend to egomania, sometimes verging on megalomania in addition to his spectrum status, and that complicates matters.
As a psychiatrist and apparently a very good one she seems to know how to dissect and analyze any type of human relationship and intellectually knows how to function in them but on a practical level she’s out of her depth😅

An episode were Beverly Hofstadter is made to realize what an abusive soul crushing parent she is, and what an egotistical narcissist bully she is, would have been both satisfied, and very worthy.
A commentary on the nature of toxic abusive relationships and the pathology they induce on the victims, as well as an important display of the evil side of motherhood (a topic that rearly get the attintion it desrevs). Standing up to her and exposing her for what she was, would have made a good character growth for Leonard, and cloud have also been a chance for Shaldon to witness and realise how horrible and tormenting he himself was to Leonard.
Not really, it'll probably give those around abusive people false hope that these people will ever change (not impossible, but the tend not to), and hence cheapen the significance.

The """humor""" in this scene comes from Leonard crying in a """"funny"""" way and mentioning bed-wetting. It's one of Chuck Lorre's biggest flaws that thankfully got better as the show went on but the issue never resolved itself completely. What separated a show like Two and a Half Men and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is that Always Sunny acknowledged its main characters were awful, and while some episodes have delved into why, it doesn't absolve them of what they've done.
I really wished we got a scene with Leonard and his brothers, and they realized that she pitted them all against each other, making them all feel unworthy.

I have a theory that she is not Leonard’s real mom. And here’s why. Leonard father had an affair at an unknown point possibly after the birth of his sister and had already began having marriage problems with Beverly and had the affair as a result of affection and after Leonard’s birth, she decided to go along with being his “mom” while her other two children are are treated differently compared to Leonard.
