Breaking thread sucks as a new guy but it lessens the sting when I see you guys do it too. I tell myself, it's okay cause these boys that have tied their entire lives and tens of thousands of flies...they still break...I don't feel so bad! haha
I enjoy all these...so far. Educational and entertaining. If I had any friends, I would definitely share all of these!
I LOVE these skill builders! Been tying jigs and some trout flys for a little over a month, the skill builders have given me way more confidence ... especially when yours don't go perfectly and you show how to recover! (The bobbin swinging is distracting, AND I wish you were you were zoomed in more) ... other than that, I can't stand waiting for these. They make my day, and I THANK you all...
Which episode shows how YOU whip finish? It looks like you grab the back first and not the hook first .... H E L P ....

Skill builder 17 will get your back boss.
Thanks for sharing your expertise. Love these skill builders!
That rubber leg/chenille tip is the best. So simple and looks great.
Enjoyed this group of tying tips. I especially liked the method of attaching the middle legs on the fly. Thanks,Cheech.
Nothing better than a well tied pats rubber legs 👍
Love the saves sir. It happens so we need to deal with it. Good stuff
Great content as always. It was awesome stopping by the shop recently and meeting you guys. Keep up the good work!
Brilliant
Great job as usual, guys !
I'm always learning from these!
I first saw this technique used by Charlie Craven. Definitely makes it easier.
Great Pats hack. Thanks!
Hi Cheech! Great video! I'll use this!😅
Well done!
Thanks
I need them🤣🤣🤣
I find your videos of good quality with good audio and your instructional style and speaking voice are great. Problem is it’s difficult to see what you’re doing due to camera angle. try putting your camera in front of you facing the vice and zoom in a bit more. Also The white vice base as a background makes it difficult to see what you’re doing. Just saying
any info on that magnet on your vise jaws?
New from Stonfo. It’s actually way cooler than I thought it would be. We’ll highlight it soon
awesome, thanks so much, will look forward to the review!@@FlyFishFood
You’re always snapping thread with your strong fingers, Cheech.
Even with decades of experience at the vise, I'm still picking up new ideas and tricks, so thanks for that. But that overhead, wide, camera angle - nope. Might be OK to view on a desktop or even a laptop, but on an ipad or phone, just not seeing the detail these tips deserve.
You need a index of where one can find a particular skill builder video without having to look at each segment of video.
Got you. www.flyfishfood.com/pages/skill-builder-guide
Oh wow thanks. Sorry for not being too bright and finding this myself.
How do you keep the antenna split when using a bead in the front?
@@andycordova5562 you can either find beads with larger holes or you can make a small thread dam right in front of the bead to split them.
@@FlyFishFood. Thanks for the ideas. I'll try them
Stop the dangling bobbin while you talk
We try. We forget. It’s going to happen again.
