Needed this refresher. My 04 has sat in storage for 10years. Just now getting it all torn down. Doing a full restore on it. Owned since new right off the showroom floor in 04. Currently has 16k miles on her.
Glad you found it useful! I have a bunch of videos for this bike and more to come once I finally get around to the editing. New monitor coming tomorrow so I might just have to try it out on the engine rebuild video.
I am doing an overall maintenance on my bike. Its at 48.000 km but I dont know if the spark plugs are changed before. The bike is running fine. Seeing the amount of work to get the (last part) of the airbox holds me up to start this job. Thanks for the video.
The air box is a bear, but everything is doable... the video should help keep you on track and I would imagine anybody could get through it in 2 - 4 hours.
I’m stuck where I can’t get the second half of the air intake out the part you just pushed through so easy.. that’s the last step till you get to the spark plugs and I’m stuck please help!!!
So the lower half of ram air has 2 bolts by radiator? I cant get it out of way to do plugs i got top half out with out removing throttle cables but cant get bottom to budge or find where bolts are
Hey I have a question sbout the 5 plugd on the right side of the engine that sre on a little metal rail. I unplugged them to switch out the harness when I was doing the spark plugs. Do upu lmow where these plug into. I c only yindntw9nofnyhe five plugs
Before I go this far though I have a question. I have a 06 CBR 1000 and I let it sit for a month without starting. Now after adding a new battery it will crank but it won't come on. The fuel pump is good too I think because it still primes when I turn the key
I know this is stupid, but I'm pretty sure that 07 would crank with the kill switch on. Make sure to check that if you haven't. Sitting shouldn't make it need spark plugs.
for you my friend i want to ask a question,,at how many thousands of kilometers do the spark plugs need to be replaced? in this particular model Honda CBR 1000 model 2006-2007
It's a 6mm allen wrench. amzn.to/3Rk6Gsu. Edit: you asked specifically about the screw, if that's what you are after it would be called a socket pan head screw. M6 x 1.00 would be the thread, 14 mm long.
Good video Thanks. Normaly i do BMW and cars. Now i have a friends fireblade in the garage. It not running for 5 years but the storage was dry and warm. Your videos give me a good inside to do the job. I hope that it isn’t nessesary to remove te engine to change to plugs?
Sparkplug, then fuel. Check to see how dark plugs look. If they ere black. Too rich, white too lean. Tan is perfect. If you have fuel commander either take it out or reprogram it according yo spark plug. Check for vacuum leaks. Check air intake flap in the front of intake snd make sure it I'd operating
Pro tip for the lower airbox vacuum hoses; apply a small amount of silicone grease like sil-glyde to the nipples on the airbox and those hoses will literally slip on and off like butter. No struggle necessary. Works with nitrile vacuum/oil hoses and EPDM coolant hoses because both are resistant to silicone. Never use mineral grease on EPDM coolant or brake hose. It will disintegrate the rubber.
Great video! Getting ready to do mine on this bike finally. Did them on my old 929 but this shouldn’t be too bad. Also love the cancel culture shirt 👏🏽
Thanks! I have 6ish videos done for this bike and more to come (editing takes time). Hit subscribe (if i've earned it) and check em out. Also, I love the comments... come back and tell me how it went.
Unfortunately I don't have the bike anymore. I rebuilt it and sold it (that was its purpose for me). I do still have a few videos I need to edit. I cut through hours and hours of footage to put these together. I don't believe I have footage showing brakes or suspension. I may have replacing the fork seals but I'm not sure if I taped it or not.
Thanks!
Thank you!

9:25, I put some tape on the seal, go completely around it, then put the tankfairing back. Saves you the scratches if you do it with a screwdriver
How do I get the air intake out
I’m stuck where I can’t get the second half of the air intake out the part you just pushed through so easy.. that’s the last step till you get to the spark plugs and I’m stuck please help!!!

Honestly, I'm not sure what is recommended. I do it every few years on my street bikes
What is the model of screw that holds the seat?

Bro any idea on part number for ignition coils?
here is an aftermarket set. OEM part number is listed in the title of the link if you want to go that route amzn.to/3VMEfqV

No, that was just a joke as I was rebuilding the engine.
Question man I have the same bike and mine bogs at 8000rpm what should I look into changing out first?
Bogs or misfire? Did I happen to just see you posting a a CBR Facebook group about this?

I like my hoes firmly attached to my nipples

I have both bikes the 929 is way more roomy to work on
Good video, helpful indeed, but damn I cringed when you left those intake holes exposed after you removed the throttle bodies, plug em up for safety.
Entire tear down. I changed the crank
@@The.Odyssey ah OK. My bad. Wasn't aware. Stay up bro.
Spark plug part number? please
There is a link to them in the description bud
Seems like it’ll be a drag doing all of this. Just did the plugs on friends Gsxr600 and it was WAY easier lol
And maybe front and rear suspension tear down and service

Take off engine to change spark plugs? 😂 Not very acurate guide 😀
Listen, your process may be different than mine but all I'm saying is my way totally worked
Yeah, I don't get why you didn't show how you did it on the bike you started showing us on? That is the process we're interested in.
Hey man do you have a instagram where I can message ya I’m having some issues fixing my 06 cbr 1krr
