      hahaha yeah bro i feel you! you got to hear what the SP does if sampling and pitching down a sample like a rhodes or something else. do you own an SP?
      but besides that, for me personally, the break is the most exciting on the SP. but youre right, the break itself is veryveryvery dope. its my personally favorite!

    This drum break has been used many times but this is K-Def and Marley Marl BABY!!! They executed this drum loop perfectly for Lords Of The Underground's "Funky Child!" Preemo's version for Gangstarr's "Take It Personal" is a close second in my opinion.

    NICE! SP1200 sounded the fattest here, but the MPC sounding a little more tighter/snappier.

      The sp give the Kick a more subby base. The Pitched Maschine does the Same Bot Not so powerful. The other sampler make the Sound More powerful but add Not that subby base to the Kick

    one thing most people are missing is that the actual difference is in the way your machine sums multiple signals, not how it retranslate one single sound

    • @WASKMUSIC
      @WASKMUSIC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That‘s right. And also how you use the machine, different workflow, limitations, workarounds.

    To do this proper you have to start with a Digital full spectrum loop because the point of using these vintage samples is to make digital shit sound more like vinyl or vintage! and you can REALLY hear the different then on how the bass sits and the high end from a digital loop sits. :)

    Thank you very much for the video, would be nice to add the mpc 60 to this test.
    All four sampler machines sounds very good.
    Looking by their price, i think would buy an mpc 2000 or mpc 2000 xl, I would like to know if they both sound the same or not.
    s950 seems to lost some low frequencies, but i know this sampler machine is a beast, maybe a bit pricey for my at the moment.
    I loved the sound of th SP, really fat bass, but also seems that add some low noise on the background, i guess is a part of the character of this sampler machine. Maybe SP is the best, i think, but not affordable for me.
    And, what about the Zoom Sampletrak in terms of sound compared to these machines? what do you think about this little machine?

    • @WASKMUSIC
      @WASKMUSIC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment.
      I actually own a lot more machines than the test shows. For example i sure got the MPC60/2000XL/2500/3000, Roland MV8000/8800, Sampletrak, SP202/404A/505, Emax, OP-1, and so on, the list continues almost endless ;)
      I really like some of the small machines. The sampletrak has a nice workflow and really really nice sound, the sequencer is not the best, but totally useable. I would prefer an MPC or similar for sequencing (resampling) the sampletrak's sound.

    Sau interessantes Video. Ist da Kompression auf den Drums, oder sind die nur normalisiert oderso und springen schon so fett aus dem vinyl? Ansonsten würde mich interessieren wie der loop völlig ohne effekte und filter klingt.

    • @WASKMUSIC
      @WASKMUSIC  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      der maschineloop ist völligst frei von irgendwelchen bearbeitungen und wurde direkt von vinyl in maschine gesampled. da maschine kein eigens audiointerface hat ist es durch mein altes recording interface aufgenommen worden in 24 bit. weiter nichts, also so clean wie es geht. das interface selbst verfärbt den klang nicht.
      sonst wurde auch nichts bearbeitet, ausser der maschine vintagemode bei einer der 3 maschine spuren. die pitched versionen wurde auf dem plattenteller bei 45+8% recordet und im gerät wieder auf normalgeschwindigkeit runtergepitcht.
      peace, WASK

      WASKMUSIC Danke für die zusätzilchen Infos. Ich finde die Drums klingen überall als wär Kompression drauf. Findest du allgemeinen, dass nachm samplen mehr druck auf den Drums ist als auffm Vinyl? Von dem was ich auf TH-cam hören konnte, hätte ich die Drums viel flacher erwartet.

    Do you think an s2000 with nothing but old drum machine samples (clean) can get the job done to make my track sound like it was made 20 years ago? I'm not looking for crazy gritty/crunch I just want that subtle flavor that makes you assume the track was made in the 90s by a house Dj. I understand samplers aren't the only hardware used in the process for this kinda stuff but I'm kinda on a budget. Thanks

    • @WASKMUSIC
      @WASKMUSIC  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Including me.
    I’m under the impression of “It doesn’t matter”

    This test is TOTALLY IRRELEVANT unfortunately....If you want to show the difference between these samplers, a drum loop is the last thing you should sample.... You should have used a actual sample of soul or jazz music and sample at normal speed and then piched DOWN to emphaze the artifacts caused by downsamples ....

      the s950 is the only sampler out of the bunch, the rest are DRUM MACHINES. thats why you use a drum loop to compare the sounds of each one. stfu and go back to fruity loops dumbass
