bro these beats bring back memories of when i was 15 and going through loads of sp1200 beat videos on youtube, including yours. 4:51 still hits me hard. you picked the absolute perfect samples for it, it sounds like a sunrise, it sounds like even more than that. as corny as it sounds, it reminds me of being in love lmao - that real warm feeling of being loved in return, the butterflies, the feeling that you know someone who really cares about you and wants to be with you. you know what? it even sounds like knowing that somewhere out there miles away there are people who care about you and think of you as a friend, and it's all because by some strange coincidence you met them on the internet years ago and now talk with them constantly and have fun with them, and without that one coincidence you wouldn't have even known they existed. i could go on with this shit but you get the idea lmao. keep doing what you do man, you have a positive impact on the world. god bless!

You actually catch the essence of that '90s sound. Cats think just using samples and throwing a beat under them is enough and that's simply not the case. One still has to know how to catch the feeling of hip hop from that era.
There are plenty of sampled joints out these days that don't sound nor feel like anything from the '90s. Now I know for some, that's on purpose but there are those who try to get that back in the day feel and they don't succeed in doing so. Salutes to you for making joints that actually feel like back in the day.

EDIT #2: I didn't realize you were the producer for MC Gels (I originally commented before the video finished). I came upon him in recent times on TH-cam and I was wondering who was making his beats because they sounded too authentic. Great work, bro.
one thing that makes it super 90s is the technique with lowpassing the loop to get the bassline that way, but i think you could fatten that by doing a sine bassline that follows

hard to replicate the sound of this for machine users
I've been producing hip-hop since the era this machine was first released. Nothing sounds quite like the old E-mu and Akai samplers of the 90's but you can get something similar enough with a VST plugin called RX950. Emulating the limitations of the memory size of these machines is key. The very short sample time induced pitching techniques and very short snares. There is also a plugin called Plogue Chipsound that replicates the behavior of the Emulator series, which are very close to the SP1200 sound.
@@SamSilk To imitate, you can reduce your bit depth to 12 bits and decrease the resolusion of your sampler by pitch shifting up the sample -> exporting -> reload -> pitch down your sample to get low resolution and aliasing, but yeah the stacks of snares into an sp1200 are just wonderful and it's difficult to emulate this with ours surgery tools in 24 bits 96kHz.

Bro your beats are dope it takes a lot of talent to use sp1200 because it’s hard to use what little of sample time you have from it and come up with something dope. I use the MPC Live and the Machine MK3 and I cant come up with stuff like this much love hommie keep at it :)
