I am on a 18:6 eating schedule. Every 3 months I do a water only fast (3 to 7 days). This week I had my first blood test of my life and my first physical since 1969 (I'm 75). I told the doctor (MD) that I fast and she said "why would you fast?". That's our conventional medical system. I guess I'll wait another 55 years for my next appointment.

So true. We have to self educate on our personal-individual health.

Saying that the FDA approval of a drug makes it safe is ludicrous.

I think it's not only true that what is good for the young might not be good when you're old and vice versa, I also think that what is good for an exerciser might not be good for a non exerciser & vice versa. I have a big problem with studies mostly being done on junk food filled obese people, in my mind what is good for them is likely not good for me

I don't think Dr. Gladys McGarey would be interested in Metformin bc she lived to 103, and is still working. Perhaps you could ask this remarkable woman to be interviewed...would be awesome!

He's wrong about what he said about how the appendix showed the same strength level for metformin takers. There actually was less strength too, but it did not reach statistical significance.

Well, i'm pretty sure this guy is saying that centenarians tend to be a healthy bunch is just repeating soundbites like a parrot without realizing what he's saying. To begin with it's very hard to collect accurate data for a cenetenarian. The children are probably old or hv even passed away b4 the parents. There's not many ppl who can recall the details of the centenarians when they were younger and just because there's no hospital records doesn't imply the person was squeaky vkean healthy. I happen to know because my mom passed away at 92 and she was never a healthy person with lots of chronic pain issues.

Just because you live the healthy lifestyle that Bryan is telling people to do or is selling to people doesn't mean we are not going to die one day. We are not biologically immoral beings. Molecular biologists have already proven that. No matter what we do, one day we are going to die. Even with AI. The creaters of AI have never said that immortality is possible with AI. They said longevity might be possible with AI. But who's is this kind of technology for? The rich. To this day, our phones that we use, that we've had access to for many years, are still quite expensive. Most people can't afford to buy them out right. So AI technology might not be available for the average to low income earners.
