Probably true but metformin (which has been around long time) works partly via increasing AMPK and so does Chinese herb (gynema) which has been around hundreds of years and Berberine (also been around on herb firm long time).

SGLT2 (Sodium-Glucose Co-Transporter 2) inhibitors, Bisphosphonates (Fosamax is TERRIBLE!), GLP1 inhibitor, Metformin.
