    I went and got 1/2 inch foam pipe insulation from Home Depot to make these. You can get like 20 feet for $3 lol. It's essentially a really skinny pool noodle. You can usually find it around the plumbing section. They also have super soft foam insulation as well, but I opted for the pool noodle type density because it has more rigidity and springs back better. You can make hundreds of these for pennies.

    this worked out well, then I went crazy and cut an old gel pad out of a ringside quick wrap and used that for the base. it works even better

    I just started boxing, after training my same finger and middle finger knuckle were really sore. I'm gonna try this out.

    Carlo you need to get some Dit Da Jow and add that to your daily post gym routine, specially now that you have a injury. BTW, you just gave me an idea to make a foam padding with that foam sheet. Maybe make my own Winning clone foam pads.

    • @csquaredboxing
      @csquaredboxing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No doubt, I’ve actually been using tiger balm but will try that out. Let me know how the knuckle pad turns out I’m interested to see the results

    • @paulb2995
      @paulb2995 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@csquaredboxing Yeah man, they have pre-made bottled Dit da Jow available in chinese markets. Look for brands such as Zheng Gu Shuai packed in a red carton, or Po Sum On in a cylindrical can (I know the name sounds funny, sounds like "put some on"). In TCM, they are blood movers and bone healers. I'll get back to you about the knuckle pads next week.

    This video was great inspiration. I went & made my own, but in an entirely different way.
    If I was looking for gloves that would best protect my hands while I’m working on the bag, in the $100 - $150 price range, what would you recommend?

    • @csquaredboxing
      @csquaredboxing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Right on brother, appreciate it and you should share how you made your own pad! As far as gloves to protect your hands, there are a lot of choices, I'd say the Title ARTech Bag Gloves, good combination of wrist support and padding for knuckles.

    • @aliens8bob1
      @aliens8bob1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@csquaredboxing Thanks, I'll take a look at the ARTech gloves.
      For my knuckle doughnuts, I used some spare 3/4" anti-fatigue eva foam floor mats. You can get these at any hardware store. If you've got a harbor freight in your area, they usually have them super cheep. Then i used a 1-3/4" hole saw to pop out a couple perfect foam rounds. Next, secure those foam rounds to my work surface & drill a 3/4" shovel bit through the center. Boom! Perfect knuckle doughnut! I get to try them out in tomorrow's workout. I'm hoping it does the trick.

    Any idea what exactly was wrong with your wrap that injured your knuckle? I have paid middle knuckle pain on one hand, but my wrap seems to be by the book. Not too tight. Not too loose.

    • @csquaredboxing
      @csquaredboxing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the way the material was folded over my knuckle and the type of glove I used, so when I punched, the cloth put extra pressure on that knuckle

      @Brandondp300 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did the pain eventually go away for you? If so, what did you do? I am currently having the same problem with the middle knuckle on my right hand

    its not even the pain when i hit the bag that hurts the most, its when i make a fist with the glove on and my knuckle digs into the glove foam. hurts like a bitch.

      My left ring finger knuckle also has pain. That makes sense with the wrapping. It’s annoying. I’ve been icing it. I really hope it completely heals so I can keep training.

    Can't wait to try this! Having pain on my right middle knuckle and haven't been able to hit the bag because of it. Other than using these is there anything else you did to help heal your knuckle faster?
