There are several layers of nostalgia going on here...NES games, coming home after school to watch old 90s Simpsons reruns before starting homework, and watching AVGN way the hell back in 2007 reminiscing about old Simpsons games. I thought most Simpsons games were pretty lame, but most of my friends owned at least one of them (most likely given to us for Christmas by a well-meaning uncle) and those memories will live on forever. Can't believe these videos are going on 10 years old now...

I had Bart VS the world as a kid - I loved it, really really did - though I still agree with everything the nerd said about it (except the big with maggie at the start - climb up the pole, nerd!!) and that later level DID get VERY VERY carried away!! - But thank FUCK I didn't have Bart VS the Space Mutants!! - Jesus Christ, as a kid I HEARD about it, where I lived wasn't very video-game-news-like, so I had to go from word-and-mouth - all I heard was the name of the game. I was like "Versus the SPACE MUTANTS?! - Awww... that sounds WAY better than the one I got!!" - But... naw. Ahh-naw. I'm glad I had what I had. You can keep your weird "Vs space mutants but-every-boss-is-human-for-no-reason" game.
This series is an integral part of the Net. I wish I had released some of my reviews on TH-cam back in the day for posterity, but I uploaded them to several similar video sites, all of which are now defunct. I was barely able to archive them all, and there are probably some I haven't been able to archive. Sad times.

I hate when people say something like "Oh man Dexter's Lab should have been on air longer!" and then turn around and complain about the Simpsons and Spongebob still being around, and that "Only the old episodes were any good." My family and I still watch the Simpsons together and find it funny, and I occasionally find new episodes of Spongebob funny here and there.

I think had I been born 15 years earlier, I wouldn't be a gamer at this age. I think it really appealed to a different desire and sort back then in many ways. I live the games I had when I was little, n64 mostly, but I'm glad gaming is as it is now, as much as some people whine about it. The depth and variety is what makes it so great for me. And as for Merv Griffin, the guys a real cool customer, he puts the Nash in Nashville, and the pow in Kung pow chicken.

People who whine are just nostalgic for the handful of actual classic games that were good on older consoles , because in reality , most consoles had a library of shit games , as they do now. All that's changed is that we have better graphics , games like Dark Souls with ridiculously deep stories with the better graphics aiding it , and Fallout with huge open world environments , games with hundreds of hours you can put into them , all aided by the technological enhancements of the now...
I am glad about what gaming was - look at Dragon Age for example. In origins you could wear any armor and any weapon provided you have the strenght, regardless of class. There was crossbows too. In new inquisition you can not wear light armor as warrior (unless its made of special material) Wow that is variety! And removing crossbows (xept Bianca) and blood mages really adds to variety! And this is happening with almost every franchise - degradation. Dont get me wrong, i like Inquisition, new graphics is nice, but could not you have new graphics without removing content?? That is bullshit. BF 1942 have submarines. BF4 have 1 sub that is just prop and you cant enter it. Yay! But hey, at least we can ruin your immersion by giving you DLC with GLADOS eye in Skyrim!
