just got this set as a gift. I have always wanted a Dremel. Will be following your videos on how to use it properly. This video was my first steps to being this creative guy i always wanted to be. Thank You.
🙏🙏 Thank you! For some reason the written instructions were so confusing! I'm a visual learner and a Dremel beginner. Nice job on a straight forward tutorial. I'm going to have a look at some more of your Dremel videos!
I had a question at 2:45 when I screw that top back on, if I do it all the way the flex shaft will not spin, if I make it lose then it will spin, any idea what the issue is?
Thank you for how to attach it, now I need to know how to remove the flex shaft from the Dremel tool. When I try to do that the inner core of the flex shaft remains attached to the Dremel tool.
Thanks, Cleve. I think that I will hang my flex shaft up just like you did. Cleve, have you ever used any of the carving burrs, etc. or other attachments that Harbor Freight sells for rotary carving tools? I saw some online today.
@@ClevesBackyardWoodworking It's OK I've figured it out. For some reason the fit of the silver driver cap is very tight on my shaft, way tighter than the normal black one. It felt as if it was cross threading. It did a few turns then stopped dead. I did it with the spanner one turn at a time and checked the thread with a magnifying glass. In the end it was fine. Very odd though. Thanks :)
Hi. I followed you until the part where you were putting the collet back on at 3 mins 15. I don’t have the bit you appear to attach. Is there a part number?
I must have a defective drive nut because every video I see it goes on flawlessly and with ease but mine does NOT screw on. The threads or something must be jacked up
@@ClevesBackyardWoodworking top 3 threads of the shaft are stripped away. I’m ordering a new motor shaft Monday and probably a new driver cap too because I stupidly tried to force it on and messed up those threads too.

Thank you. Got my 4300 a couple of weeks ago and will be getting the flex shaft tomorrow. Nothing is safe after that...lol

Clear explanation. Love the close ups. Thanks.
Thanks for the info! My wife is giving me a 4300 and flex shaft for Christmas so this will surely help me get it set up quick.
glad to help
I am thinking to buy Dremel 4300. The video was useful.
glad to help, if using to carve try it first on lower speeds to get use to.
A top video, thanks for posting. I've been thinking of buying a flex shaft for my 4300, I certainly will now.
Thanks, yeah it's a game changer.
Just bought this setup and this video helped me. Thanks!
cool, glad it helped. you planning to do carvings or something else with it?
@@ClevesBackyardWoodworking I'm doing polymer 80 builds. Gun stuff.
@@BLACKNIGHTCODING you make the kits? using the dremel for engraving then?
Thank you Cleve, I am a beginner and this helped me a lot! :D

Clean and clear job thanks v much Sir... Peace✌️
glad it helped! Thanks.
I want in the mood to read instructions so thank you so much :)
Haha you're welcome
Might be a good idea to show and tell people about breaking in the shaft and the Dremel when new
Think I mentioned it in another video but should of in this one for sure.
@@ClevesBackyardWoodworking
All good maybe a quick spiel on future videos and a link to a break in video for the shaft and the Dremel itself
I had a question at 2:45 when I screw that top back on, if I do it all the way the flex shaft will not spin, if I make it lose then it will spin, any idea what the issue is?
Not sure what it could be, is the rod inserted in the driver cap? You don't want it loose.
Same problem here.
Ever figure out the solution?
Thank you for how to attach it, now I need to know how to remove the flex shaft from the Dremel tool. When I try to do that the inner core of the flex shaft remains attached to the Dremel tool.
if the inner shaft rod is getting stuck in the driver cap you should be able to pull it out.
@@ClevesBackyardWoodworking thank you for getting back. It was my first time using it, and didn't want to break it. All is well now.
CLEVE IS COOL.
OMG😭 Thank you. I was so confused😅😅😅😅😅😅
Glad the video helped
Great video! Subscribed!
thanks for watching
Thanks cleve
you bet!😀
Thank you so much.

Thank you Sir!!!

Thanks for the video, very helpful!!! :) 👍
glad it helped 🙂
Thanks 👍🏻
Nice!
Thanks, Cleve. I think that I will hang my flex shaft up just like you did.
Cleve, have you ever used any of the carving burrs, etc. or other attachments that Harbor Freight sells for rotary carving tools? I saw some online today.
the only thing are the diamond burrs from there I use. but those tools should be great for trying to see what works
@@ClevesBackyardWoodworking Thanks, man.
Great video!!! Thank you!
you're welcome🙂
How do I change the collet on the extension
Thank You.
you bet! have a fun safe time using Dremel flex shaft
Thank you my man. God bless you. Jesus is king and He wants you btw.
Thanks now how do we take it apart? I pulled mine away and it wont detach but the inner cord continues to come out of the flex shaft lol
What do you mean? you unscrew it if you want to put it away. for the inner shaft cord don't hold it up to where it slips out.
@@ClevesBackyardWoodworking i wish i could show you what i mean man 😂😂
@@HendersonNoMore maybe you can send it to my Instagram
does the drive cap come with the flex shaft?
yes, usually back of package
My silver driver cap won't fit on to the drive shaft 1:45!
it should be, is it not screwing on?

@@FezzantPlucka Alright cool!
Hey boss great video very well our together. Butt one question where do I get that care you hard it in? I need one like that and one for my saw max.
thanks, the carving bits I got online, link in description.
so you can not use the MultiPro Keyless Chuck with the flex shaft?
I haven't tried using it, so not sure. I'll let you know when I do.
Here in Aus we don't get the flex shaft in the 4300 kit we have to fork out an extra $40 for it
I bought mine separate from the kit.
very helpful...thanks
😎👍
Hi. I followed you until the part where you were putting the collet back on at 3 mins 15. I don’t have the bit you appear to attach. Is there a part number?
Hi, it's a cutter bit you can get. It's a Dremel 134 bit.
Thank you!
welcome! 🙂
thanks for sharing
You bet!
What does the rod in the middle of the flex shaft look like. A rod is not in my flex shaft.
the rod is the thin copper like metal that i show in the video attaching to the driver cap. should easily see it
what's that rod in the middle of your flexshaft? mine doesn't have that?
that's what turns your carving burrs if you don't have that then it doesn't work
@@ClevesBackyardWoodworking They don't even show it in the crappy instructions, It's fresh from the box. Is it a separate purchase?
is yours a Dremel? not separate it's the main part of the Flex shaft maybe shake it upside down 🤷♂️
Dremel Flex Shaft, it looks just like yours but seems to be missing a vital component despite being a fresh purchase.
Great video, Does the driver cap come with the flex shaft?
Thanks, yes it's included
Thank you Brother..
you're welcome!

man that sucks, see if you can carefully rethread, maybe contact dremel see if they can help
@@ClevesBackyardWoodworking Yup, was defective. Got a new unit and things are working just fine. Thank goodness!
awesome, happy dremeling! lol if that's a thing
Thanks so much!
Welcome, glad this helped.
My driver cap won’t fit on my dremel threaded shaft. It won’t thread down for some reason
are the threads damaged? should be able to screw on clockwise. don't know what else it could be.
@@ClevesBackyardWoodworking top 3 threads of the shaft are stripped away. I’m ordering a new motor shaft Monday and probably a new driver cap too because I stupidly tried to force it on and messed up those threads too.
