I don't think anyone is going out and buying an SVR because they saw it in a Bond film, I think it's more that Land Rover as a British brand got the opportunity to put one of their top of the range cars in a highly popular movie and we get to see a nice car on screen. For me, this chase scene was the most memorable in the film, and partly because of the SVRs.
Presumably this was planned with Land Rover - they must have known what would happen to their vehicles in the film. Perhaps it's the producers' (and even JLR's) way of acknowledging that for all the Range Rover's great qualities, the Land Cruiser is the great survivor of the SUV class, something people all over Africa, Asia and the middle east have known for a very long time. It's a nice touch. The Toyota wins the battle; the Range Rovers all get smashed up, but they get to look cool as hell during the chase - everyone's happy.

@@f900ex5 To reasonable save some money on the budget, film makers will ask the manufacturer to provide half finished cars for scenes like this. The car will have all the appearance and some of the interior look the same as a finished car. So even the car get trashed, its not wasting a whole new car. Or, they would buy older version of the car second hand and make it looks brand new. Unless, manufacturer is willing to provide new cars to crash for free.

The Range Rover vs Land Cruiser battle has been fought in millions of TH-cam comments over the last few years, so to see it playing out on screen, in a Bond film, was amazing. Normally I'd expect a Bond film to give all the glory to the British brand, but not this time. Whoever directed this scene must have a special interest in the SUV universe and decided it was time to give the Land Cruiser its due. Even though the Land Rover vehicles were defeated, they got to look seriously impressive racing out of the forests and across the wilderness. So I guess that was the trade-off.
In my opinion, that Ford Raptor camera car steals the show, I love how they use Raptors to do that, perfect place for it too! Fun fact in Star Wars Episode 9, they actually used this same Raptor camera setup truck to film the desert scenes

I grew up with Sean Connery as oo7 that's all I ever knew or cared about but I have to say Daniel Craig is my favorite James Bond it's not fair to measure each one anyway because different times and nobody can doubt the Sean Connery was smooth as silk actually he was too damn smooth I love Craig's portrayal because he doesn't come out squeaky clean every time I will miss him as Bond
Likewise, he's been truly exceptional, proved the bloated armchair critics totally wrong. Certainly the most true to life, gritty Bond, with Casino Royale easily the best Bond film of all time, by quite some way.

this scene was the first time i genuinely felt scared for a movie character’s life…idk something about those two big grey rovers, with fully blacked out tinted windows and going about 90 mph…i definetly stopped breathing for a few minutes
The '76 Pacer. Now, there's a car. Mine whistled at stop lights. Go past 55 and the speedometer needle bounced back and forth from 0 to whatever so I never knew what my speed really was. The tires hit the top of the wheel wells going over bumps in the road. I accessorized mine with a screwdriver in the carburetor to keep it running. I beefed up the suspension with three throw pillows to keep the seat springs from imprinting on my backside. The AM radio died of Delco disease as it was driven off the lot. The number of windows seemed to increase geometrically when it came to scraping ice off them. The defroster worked best in the summer time. The AC was a One Mag-Flap--take a magazine with you and flap it in one hand as you steered with the other hand. The Two Mag Flap option involved two magazines and driving with your knees. And, it was almost impossible to roll unlike these Rovers that seem prone to that problem! 😃 I hope that's not a dirty emoji. I can't tell what they mean anymore.

This chase scene was far less in the final cut - I could not believe what ended up in the movie - watch and see. Basically the Land Rovers got run off the road by a less superior suv in a matter of seconds.
