  • “I’ve had a few optional extras installed.” Bond utilises the Aston Martin V8’s array of gadgets in THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS (1987). Stunt Supervisor Chris Corbould said: “We had to fire the Aston Martin up a ramp to go over the hut. Because of the extreme cold on the first attempt, rather than firing off like mad the car just went ‘blump’ straight into the side of the hut. It was a total disaster.”

      @LiveDonkeyDeadLion 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @morty pen My source? It’s called an opinion. You see we know Dalton wanted Bond to be more realistic, and Bourne was also realistic and extremely successful. The Bond producers reacted to that by making bond a bit more like reality, but would Bourne have happened without the realism of Dalton? They did say they wanted to make an American spy film that was based on reality rather than the extremes of Bond. The Bourne books are just as unrealistic to actual spying as is Fleming. We also know that films copy other films that are successful, so taking my opinion and extrapolating it with what we know about the films that were made and how they performed (Die another day), I can then formulate an opinion. You don’t have to agree with my opinion, but you also don’t have the right to call my opinion BS, especially as that seems to turn you into just another troll commenter. @@joaocharneca2119 Sadly I have to agree with you. I really liked the casting of Craig initially, and liked Casino Royale a lot. I still felt Royale was a bit sloppily written overall with too many tacked on big action chase sequences (that whole airport business could have been taken right out), and was a bit disappointed that they gave Craig such an un-Bond spikey hairdo, but felt he had so much promise for further films. Not enjoyed any of the rest, and they've got more and more generic, blue filtered, overacted and boring.
      Why on earth Purvis & Wade are still writing I don't know, they're awful and all of their scripts after Die Another Day have needed sometimes multiple better writers brought in to re-write them. I really think they need to go back to a more traditional Bond after Craig. Tall, dark haired and lean but suave and good looking (as much as I've tried to picture him as 007, Craig just looks like a Russian henchman or a grizzled Norwegian fisherman).

      @@joaocharneca2119 And the punchlines do work with Dalton just like with Moore before. One of the underrated Bonds for sure.

      @@joaocharneca2119 Craig is too serious, too dark and more like a Bond villain sometimes.

    I love this film ....and Timothy Dalton's take on Bond! This was the first film that really felt it took a real leap into the 80s...(and also the best one of the 80s!) Seriously underrated .....what should've been done was Roger Moore (another great Bond) should've had Octopussy as his last film and instead of having 'A View to a Kill, (which is a really poor and bad film...except for Maydays bits), MGM and co. shouldve had a gap of a few years (by not having that bad film) concentrating their marketing instead to successfully market push and launch Timothy Dalton off as the new Bond of the 80s (to allow the public to adapt and adjust)...and then still have brought this great film out in 87! (That way Moore would've also ended on a high but Timothy Dalton would've had the credit he deserved too for his good and unique take on Bond!) Shame!

      View to a Kill wasn't really my cup of tea either, some stand out scenes though.

    I think Sean was probably the best actor to play bond, but Dalton was my favourite.

    Out of all the Astons that Bond drove, this V8 Vantage is my favourite. I love how it features in No Time To Die
