It's a wonderful testament to Henry Winkler and Ron Howard that they've maintained a close friendship for over 40 years. Plus Winkler avoided the common mistake of the hyped TV star becoming full of himself. He never seemed to take fame for granted.
I'll be honest, I was bummed at first that because I wanted Titus to win. But after I found out how long he never won. I was like "How dare they never give this man an Emmy!!"
Bob Newheart never won till his guest role on Big Bang. Hugh Laurie never won for House, Martin Sheen never won for The West Wing. The Emmys suck sometimes.

I’m here because of his memoir, “Being Henry”. I can’t put it down. With all his success, he is so honest about his feelings of inadequacy, his negativity. I could so relate. Only recently has he made an effort to quell those negative thoughts…”don’t even finish the sentence, replace the negative thought with a positive one”. I so appreciate his honesty in the book, and I celebrate his much-deserved success in his profession. ❤
Cos he jumped a Shark again? (lol), nah much agreed man. Arrested Development always sadly under appreciated as a series because its a show without the silly; 'canned' laughter!
This one was SOOOOOOOOO HARD. This one could have gone in so many directions, and they all would have been wonderful! What a wonderful speech so full of heart!
Strong disagreement. He's a versatile sketch player, and while he's only had a couple of breakout recurring characters, he's the understated glue that has elevated much of the material he's been given, even in smaller roles.
How do you not fucking love that speech? A genuine sweetheart of a man. People like him are scarce. The sheer joy in his voice when he says "daddy won" Wow! You can also tell that the other nominees were super happy for him.
I have watched this so many times. The amount of joy I feel for Henry Winkler in this moment almost hurts. He's such a genuine guy and I'm so glad he won this award.
@@slwalsh Thank you for pointing that out. It was really cool to see Ron shoot out of his seat clapping with a big happy smile on his face. Just an old friend genuinely excited for his buddy.

Truly happy for him. I've watched it alone and suddenly saw myself applauding too when I heard his name. Also nice to see how his co-nominees like Tony Shalhoub and Alec Baldwin are sincerely delighted for him to have won this thingy.
Few actors can say they had developed an Icon. Sylvester Stallone and Henry Winkler are the only two that come to mind. Henry is the best. How much fun would it be to have him come over for Sunday dinner!
I love Henry Winkler. From the first episode of Barry, Henry blew me away with his performance and I said to myself I hope to god he gets nominated for an Emmy because I couldn't stop smiling . He's just so good
I love how before his name is called he is obviously on the edge of his seat, gripping the chair in front of him. If you pause at 1:25, the people behind him are GENUINELY happy and excited for him. So warm and humbling to witness.
There are a lot of Bonds, Batmans, but only he could bring Fonzie to life. Such an iconic character and a piece of American television history. Wow. What a legend. Well deserved.

Heres another comment. Thankfully you have nothing to do with this man.

Weird that you felt it necessary to point out it's Stacy's second marriage.
I love how the other nominees all looked genuinely happy that Henry won :D
AHHH...... Thats called acting, if im not mistaken
Kenan Thompson and Tony Shaloub were clearly acting .. and that's okay.
You could see Alec Baldwin mouthing "Wow" while applauding warmly. Nice to see -- Henry Winkler richly deserved an Emmy.
Tony Shaloub does what Rachel told Joey to do if he lose the award!

Yes. But the Fonz is still awesome too. Credit to Mr. Winkler!
Agree. I went with a friend to see "Scream" in Austin(back in the day), and the audience lost it when he first appeared on screen.
He’s a genuine person and fully engages. People notice that on an unconscious level
Don't forget Macgyver ! One of the best tv shows
The guy has been in the business for over 40 years. I've never heard anyone say a single bad thing about him. Such a great moment for him.
