    Everyone posting hates the sensor. As an repair technician at a large apartment complex, I love it!
    in a 55 unit building I was replacing the burner plugs 3 or4 times a month and many infinity switches as well when the plug melts and the wires contact the metal and short it out! Total cost of about 100 per repair. Its also creates a fire and shock hazard. So if you do the mod. and I understand why you would want to, just beware!

    • @HoIyGrail
      @HoIyGrail 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, its easy to love it, when the sensor stops people from cooking on it because of frustration. A stove not in use, will not need switch replacements much.

    Hate to break it to you in case you have not already figured this out- but these bullshit Sensi Temp burners draw less power (watts/amps) than the older burners. They are set up for lower amp draws than the older non-regulated burner elements were. So while we can join wires as you say in this video, and cut out the Sensi-Temp garbage from the circuit, which is what I did, it will not fix the wiring of the stove itself to handle larger amp draws. The burners will then over-draw power and burn out the hard rubber receptacles under the surface. It's not a fire hazard, but it means you cannot do this modification successfully. The larger burners tend to do this the worst, although I have seen the smaller ones burn out after getting this mod too.

    • @humayunjehanzeb
      @humayunjehanzeb  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well I have been using after modification since 3 months. It is working just perfect allowing us to adjust desirable heat.

    • @jazzlives
      @jazzlives 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@humayunjehanzebI've rewired several and they all do the same thing, the right burner power probe starts arcing at the receptacle, which heats up and eventually melts. It stops making contact with the right probe at all and the burner quits. I tried sanding the probes to remove the carbon, but when the receptacle melts its toast. I also tried replacing the wiring to the burners with new receptacles, same thing. Yours will do it in time. The reason it fails is these burners are not made to carry as much power as older models did.

    Don't make any more excuses for this piece of crap stove top, it's a straight up BAD DESIGN. It's not bad because we (1) still use our standard old pots, or because (2) we have filthy pot bottoms, or (3) because we slightly mismatch our pot bottoms with the burner size, or (4) we cannot align the pots with the burners, or any other nonsense. This Sensi-Temp thing is pure GARBAGE. UL screwed this up.( Remember when the EPA mandated spill proof gas cans?). I urge a class action lawsuit against UL/GE to pay for this $700 rip off appliance.

So I connected them again and when I attach this coil to other burner at the back of same stove, it works fine. But I am afraid if even that will get sparked and stop working so I am not doing that.

      How did you attached two wires ?

    Why should the sensor caps change color when you cook on them? That's weird

    Thank you! I thought that’s what happens when you buy the cheapest stove.🤷‍♀️ I can make pasta again.

    I have a question if someone can answer it for me i will be so thankful. I did cut those two wires and connected it to each other. After connecting I put cap on the wire so that if by chance those wire touch to metal we don’t get any electric shock. When i start the stove those plastic cap melted. I am not sure if is it safe to leave those wire without any covering. And if cover it with tape or plastic cap they melt and smell like short circuit. I am confused what to do☹️. Should I leave those wire without any covering.

      I am not a electrician but plastic connections caps is not a good idea. Use metal clips like the original.

    I wonder if someone try to cook on the stove and try it before they sell it with sensi nonsense technology? I can't fry anything!!

    I tried cooking rice in a heavy Corning Ware 4-1/2 qt. pot, and the pot still wasn't heavy enough with a Sensi-Temp coil burner. I had rice soup since the burner shuts off after 5 minutes. I wouldn't fool with Sensi-Temp electronics. Your best bet is to simply replace all four coil burners for about $50. And Spencer's TV and Appliances in Mesa, AZ wouldn't stand behind this defective merchandise either. Cheapskates!

    Not a sensor .. It's a thermal cutout , and the foil on the drip pans will cause the heat that drops to reflect back onto the element and cause it to fall apart .. 40+ years of range repair

    The moment I saw this Sensi Temp crap on the stove landlord gave me as replacement for my old, probably 50 years one, I had bad feeling. Not even two years later two burners are dead. Haven't tried your fix but looks like it might work. What a moronic idea these things are. UL wake up!

    This drives me insane. I’m sautéing meat and I throw in some onions and then it just stops cooking and I’m left with soggy onions. I just started using two burners and switching when one shuts off.

    Did anyone try buying replacement burners?

    • @KeniteSlayer
      @KeniteSlayer 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I bought some and they have made these so they won't fit too. I bought the replacements for my 30 year old Kenmore and that worked for awhile and it died, then I bought a whirpool and it is a pos, hoped to use the replacements on it but they won't work.
